Who's going over the 4th of July, 2007?

I probably will not get many responses yet, but I am so excited I had to post.

We just booked our "dream" vacation at the Polynesian for 8 days over the week of the 4th of July.

Yes, we did this even though it is not value season, it will be hot and crowded and we will not get free dining like we did in August. But we have always wanted to spend the 4th of July at WDW (after all, what is more American than Disney World?) and have always wanted to stay at the Polynesian.

Anyone else book already for the 4th?

We took our vacation over the 4th of July week this year at WDW. All I can say is that there can't be a better place to go on the 4th than the MK. The atmosphere is just amazing. Yes it is blistering hot and there are so many people that it is difficult to breathe but I loved it . The best thing is that for a couple days they will stop the regular wishes fireworks and instead do their "fantasy in the sky" 4th of July fireworks. That show is absolutely spectacular. We were standing on main street and it felt as if we were completely surrounded by fireworks.... They did close the MK late in the afternoon because it was filled to capacity though so just a word of caution there. But as long as you don't mind the heat and the crowds, we had a great time

As you said, I am sure the celebratory atmosphere more than makes up for the heat and crowds. Plus we are used to the heat, we always go in July or August and love it. Our plan is to avoid MK on the 4th and watch the fireworks from the Poly beach where we are staying.

We'll be there! We're at YC June 29-July 7 and GF July 7-13. We were at Disney 4th of July 2005 and loved it! We stayed at the GF then in a lagoon view room and we able to sit on our patio and watch the 4th of July fireworks! Awesome. Can't wait to be back for this year's 4th of July celebration.

We are leaving here (we are driving) on July 4th and we will stay with my in-laws for a few days (they live 40 minutes from WDW). We will be at ASMu from July 9-14th, 2007.

We went last year and it was a blast. Get into the parks early on the 4th. We did everything we wanted to do by noon and then it got super crowded. We took a break and went back at night. Nighttime was rediculously crazy at MK. MK was open until 5AM and crowded until about 3:30AM.

I suggest that you try to book a Fantasy In The Sky Fireworks cruise. We did this last year, as they did it last year on the 3rd and the 4th. It was amazing. Cruises book 90 days in advance and the special Fourth of July Wishes Fireworks cruise was truly the best we've ever done.

I can't believe MK is open until 5AM on the 4th! That is crazy! I guess I will plan for a light day on the 5th! Maybe a pool day!

Hi, it's me again!

I just made my dining reservations for our trip. On July 3rd, we will be eating at the Polynesian Luau and then watching the special MK July 3 fireworks from the Polynesian beach. On July 4th, we will be eating at Chefs de France in Epcot and then watching the special Epcot fireworks at 10:00. I heard that Epcot has a lot more room for the July 4th fireworks so it is a good place to go on that day.

Anyone else make dinner plans? Other restaurants include 'Ohana, Chef Mickeys, Boma, Hollywood & Vine (Fantasmic package), Marrakesh and Spoodles. Yum!
