Octobers coming!!:woohoo: Hope to meet some of you there!

This is my 1st post  , I've been reading for a while too.

We are visiting as a Magical Gathering October 14 - 21, I am so excited! :woohoo: DH, DS 9, DS 6 and DS 4 along with my parents and sister are all camping. DH & DSs have never been the rest of us last visited the Ft in August of '89!

Welcome!!! I'm excited about our next trip to the Fort.:cool1: I really like October at the Fort too!

October 6-12

this is the farthest in advance we have booked ( I'm just postng, we didn't just book :rolleyes1 ) and I can hardly contain myself.

We'll be in tent-ville the 16th-27th. When people ask who is most excited about the trip, my kids point to me.

Still trying to decide what to do the night before we leave. Our flight leaves at 7 am on the 27th. That means we have to pack up the tent and be ready to go about 4 am. So what do we do? Pack it up in the evening and lay on the picnic table until it is time to go??? Can't imagine tearing it down in the middle of the night (the good humored neighbors will have a laugh). I'm thinking it may be better to tear down on the 26th and head to the Pop. But that would mean changing ressies. Do you think they would change it when we got there?

I'm doing something similar in December. I have an 8:30 am flight. You will need to have the Ft. Wilderness folks pick you up about 3:30 am to be at DME by 4am.

I don't have kiddos, so I'm planning on closing down PI that night, then packing up. I can sleep on the bus, plane, and once I get home. This is a short trip for me, so I'll have minimal stuff.

Maybe you should pack up the morning before and spend the last night at the Hyatt at the airport. Just schedule DME for "any" late night flight the night before. You won't be able to use the Airline Checkin, but then you wouldn't be able to use it for an early flight either.

We'll be there Oct. 14-19, but I'm still crossing my fingers that I can add more days either at the beginning or end of our stay! Weekends are busy at the Fort!

I can't wait! Last night I just made our camping reservations in SC for the way down and NC for the way home and I also book my parents' Keys to the Kingdom Tour. When I asked if I could book the tour for Friday 10/12, they told me that they had every time available that day. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it means the crowds will be very light like last year!!

All that's left now is to get the camper inspected on 10/2 and pack that baby up!!! The kids don't know yet...they think our actual destination is SC. So, when we get up on Sat 10/6, we're telling them where we're actually going. I've been keeping this quiet for a year now and it's just about killing me!!!!!!! Woo hoo!! FW here we come!!!:cool1:
