I just took a look at the historical hours for the week of our visit. It appears that MK closes pretty early (7:30 PM or so) - does anyone know if that means that there will be no fireworks show on the nights when MK closes this early? I'll be a little disappointed if that's the case.QUOTE]

You might be seeing the days that the MK closes early to host the MNSSHP. On those days they have great fireworks, but the party is an extra cost.

We are going to be at VWL 10/20-23 for a quick weekend trip. We are planning to go to the 10/21 MNSSHP with DD 4.5 and DS 2.5 (1st time to this event). We were at WDW once already this year and can't wait to go back.

How crowded are these events? I am a starting to get a little worried about going on a Friday and managing the crowds with the little ones.

I just got out my time guides from last years October trip, this is what I found...

MK, closes at 6 for the nights of MNSSHP, no Wishes on those nights.

Other nights, closing varied from 7:30 - 11 pm. Wishes was shown on every one of these evenings, either at closing time, or at 10 on the later nights.

We are going to MNSSHP on 10/25 and 10/28. I want to make a PS on 10/25 at LTT. As far as the parade goes, does anyone have an idea of what is the best time to make the ressie for? 5:30? I'm going to try to do this tonight. Wish me luck!

Me and my bf are going in oct 24-30. I'm so very excited he's never been to florida and i have many times, i just love disney. It's a great reason to be kid no matter what age you may be from 4 to 84. It will be his 21 st birthday!!!!!!!!

I can't wait for the Food & Wine schedule - this will be our 3rd time going to the festival, but we've never been to any of the ticketed or special events. I think we might try for one this time.

I am just curious...the last time we went was in 2003 and before that 2001, at the same time we are going this year (the 2nd half of October) and it seems like as I am looking around for accomodations, etc. it's a lot busier this time around. Lots of places are already booked up and the last times we went in late Oct. I had no difficulties finding a condo or house for inexpensive and I didn't book until July/August.

Any thoughts?

I think October is getting busier; that's why there are very few Ocotber days that are value season. We had been thinking of going in November but DH really wanted to do MNSSHP, which is probably one of the reasons October is getting busier.

We were going to try early November this year until we realized that Disney had changed the Regular/Value Season dates and that changed our trip to late September/early October.

DH is a fireworks junky, he just loves them and the ones we saw a few years ago at MNSSHP were the best ever.

You are correct, they are special fireworks for the party, and they are fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!

Just found this thread - where has it been hiding?

Its good to read about so many other people who get excited about planning. DH loves Disney but he just isnt into the planning!

Oct is my fave time to go, we are OKW 25oct - 6 Nov then 4 days at VB to relax.

MNSSHP for the first time this year on 31st Oct and LTT at 8.30pm
