Who's Going in October 2005??!!*MNSSHP dates & info*

Taratink ~ We were at WDW last October and are planning a visit this October. We went last year from 10/17-10/24. We thought it was fairly busy and heard from several CMs and a few guests that the third week in October is a fall break for many schools out west thus greater crowds. The crowds were still very managable, though!

How busy is Oct? We have gone to WDW in Jan. so we have been spoiled with low attendance.
Tara

We go every October 6th time this year! It is very popular with Brits towards the end of Oct as it is the half term holiday also it is near the start of the School year. (but dont let the Brits put you off!!!!)

We have found the crowds quite managable, not only that the weather tends to be good - very little rain, temperature like a hot summers day in the UK but more predictable!

Hard to believe BUT it's almost that time for all of us October travelers to start making our 90 PS's!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I know! I'm getting so excited. :Pinkbounc I still don't have it all planned yet. I was hoping to plan all the "important" PS (oh, wait, they are ADR now, aren't they?) at 90 days and then hoping to do the rest around 60 when the schedules come out. Think that'll be too late? :hourglass

Wunderbar (Ok, never took German, but that's what's going thru my mind!!)

Now, where should I make my ADR for? Tues to Tues... which day for MK and CRT? Breakfast or Lunch??? (I'm just so sure I CAN get a AR) :confused3

My stomach is now doing flips!! I have too many buffets? Too many character meals? Too many sit downs? How much money will I spend? Will the Fl res rate come out and alleviate my fears???

We are arriving Oct 1st. Can someone please tell me what date I can start making my AR? I am too tired this morning to figure it out..

BTW, This will be our FIRST MNSSHP....

Do the majority of the people dress in costumes?

I feel your pain. I have been spending countless hours trying to figure out how best to use our TS, CS and Snack credits. I'm thinking we are going to be eating WAY too much food but we'll be on vacation so it's ok .. right.

Here is what I have for TS: Donald's Breakfastosaurus, Crystal Palace for lunch; Princess Storybook Bkfst; Cinderella's Gala Fest for Dinner; Cinderella's Royal Feast for bkst and Chef Mickeys for bkfst.

I don't know how far West you were talking about but up in Washingtion...We don't have fall break the third week in October...I know that because that's about when we will be gone...and my kids are going to be missing school...but after were back for a couple weeks..they will be back for the break.

If you arrive October 1st, we can start making PS July 3rd!! I am all over it. As of 3pm today I will be doing the DOUBLE DIGIT DANCE!!

YEE HEE!!!! 14.5 more weeks!!!!!

Thanks, fixed it!! (it just so fit my mood!! + dh and ds did take German!!)

Disneydeals has some costumes on sale, I saw Snow White, and Belle Princess for $24, adult female was Sally (Nightmare b4 xmas), and Queen of Hearts....

Is the Cinderella gala 1900 Park Fare dinner buffet? I've heard so many negatives about getting around, you pay extra for the characters, and the characters do tend to be rushed... I do want to eat at GF and order a special cake from their bakery!!

What am I a thread killer???

I am so upset! I would like to thank in advance Viola a CM at CRO that spent 1.2 hour with me this evening, if only :wizard: to help me change to a package with free dining!! (math never being my strong suit - I thought we'd save the same with Fl Res Rate - moderate maybe $99 rack is $134... so maybe at best we could save $200 - $250 right? Dining, today I sat down to make a tentative ADR list - :faint: 5 Buffets X 2 adults/1child = $75X5 = FIND OUT HOW TO GET FREE DINING!!! :faint: )

Of course Viola couldnt get me into the POFQ... but I do have a 24 hour hold with Free dining! so sad tho... my perfect planning is undergoing construction... cancel there, get money back, call and put that money back into wdw before it disappears... HELP... so much work to save money!!

Our school gets out the third week of October. That's why we're going.

Eeyore45....why couldn't you get into POFQ? Were they all booked up?

Mommyboo----------- I have had a change of plans due to the FREE dining offer. I was originally staying offsite in a rental house. I will now be at POP from Oct.1 -Oct.11th. This is my first time onsite and I can hardly wait!!! I'll still be attending MNSSHP on the 6th.

I waited to long for my LTT ps and the earliest they have available is 7:30 so I think I'll be eating at a counter service. How is everying using the TS credits. This seem like so much work.

tikipoo they say they only have CBR for my dates the first of Oct :(

I'm going to see if I cancel POFQ, then book free dining, then see if I can switch to POFQ... I've spent tonight (Thur) which is DH's BDAY!!! trying to explain to both DH and my father, why we must make these changes.. I just want to :faint:

keep hoping I'll see posts of encouragement - - itsnt it ALL ABOUT ME??!!

Oh no! I've somehow been sleeping whilst surfing the Dis every day as I have only just woken up to the possiblity of the free dining plan for us! Except we have AP's, and a room discount already, so I don't know if we would save all that much. Still doing the math, but it looks like it boils down to how much we eat, and how well. We normally spend anything from 80 to 100 dollars a day on food for the two of us....is it worth it? I'll continue figuring it myself but it's Midsummer and we are in the midst of the party as I write this :flower: .

Dancing round the Maypole and still dreaming of Disney... :earboy2:

Have you considered Disney Dining Experience? It costs $50 for 1 year for AP holders and then you get 20% discount on lots of table service including alcohol. So you may want to do that math too-you only have to spend $250 to break even on the DDE card but you'll have to run the numbers to see if this would be better than the dining plan option. Then if you already have the AP's and DDE card you can use those for more trips. :teeth:
