Who's Going in October 2005??!!*MNSSHP dates & info*

Were booking as soon as AAA opens up today...Arriving 10/19-10/22 staying at POP (as long as they have space)..and were going to try to do MNSSHP on the 20th or 21st. As for costumes...I think were going to look for pirate costumes for the four of us (we have 7 others in our group...but I'm not sure if they are going to dress for the party or not). We've picked pirate costumes...because were heading on our 2nd disney cruise on 10/22 :goodvibes and figured the costumes would work perfect for pirate night on the ship.

I don't know if this is the right place to post questions...or what..but seeing that it's a thread for October trips..I may as well ask away...This will be our very first trip to WDW (all 11 of us)....Well I'm wondering about the crowds towards the end of October....How bad are they? We're only able to fit in 2 days at WDW...so were VERY limited on time....any tips or hints on how to get around best in late October? What about extra magic hours? How do they work extra magic hours around MNSSHP?

We are going on October 18-21! We are staying at the ASMR. We picked this resort for my kids, they are huge Toy Story fans. We are also going to MNSSHP on the 20. As of today my daughter(5) wants to be Kim Possible and son (2) will be Stich. We can't wait for our vacation!

Wow, 11 of you! :earseek: That'll be a blast!
My advise would be, if you haven't already, to purchase a new Unofficial Guide (hopefully the new addition will be out in August :goodvibes ) and/or visit their website at www.touringplans.com . It gives a list of the best days to visit the parks along. The UG (the book) gives you touring plans that will save you a ton of time if you are there on a busy day.

On EMH, what I've heard has been up in the air. Most people agree that the morning EMH are worth it. The evening EMH, some say they weren't busy at all, just jumped on the rides, others say it was a mad house and a waste of their time! Guess it just depends on the day.

We're going Sept. 30th to Oct. 4th. This is a surprise trip for my DH. He knows I was thinking about it, but doesn't know I booked it! We're also getting a 3rd trip out of our AP's with this one - only now I have to buy a ticket for my DS who will be 3 when we go.

We're staying at PO-FQ for the first time (very excited) and going to MNSSHP on 10/2 and hitting the food and wine festival as well. We'll probably stick to MK, Epcot and MGM this trip, since we'll only have 4 days in the parks.

I really can't wait!!!

Just repriced our Disney vacation package online a few minutes ago and see that the price is down by $75.00. If I call in will they make the rate adjustment or will I need to cancel the entire reservation and spend another 45 min on the phone to rebook?? I believe it's a reduction in the price of airfare that we booked direct with Disney. I would love to cash in on the savings but don't know if it's worth the hassle. HELP ... I booked on the phone with the Disney Reservation Department.

Please tell me if anyone else if freaking out about planning? What I mean is:
1. Do ME or not to ME? :moped:
2. Best days for the parks? :sunny:
3. To EMH or not to EMH? :hourglass
4. THE WHOLE DINING PLANNING! :drinking1

I am going completely nuts! I know I'm being a complete froot loop  , but what can I say? Anyone else?

(Oh, and Lori, I think I'm going to request Bldg 39. Stayed there before and it's nice and quite. Haven't totally committed yet!)

Add me to the list of people going crazy ...

I have spent countless hours on allearsnet.com trying to figure out whether or not the dining option is right for us. Yes .. I can find numerous restaurants that I think we would like but are they practical with a 3.5 year old.

We are definitely not doing the ME. We are going to rent a car so we have the freedom to go to the parks when we want and not have to wait on a bus. That will be a first for us so we are anxious to see how it works.

How in the world does one figure out a good schedule for 8 days / 7 nights. I'm going nuts!!! One issue is of course breakfast at CRT. Do I start calling on the first available date for us which would be on Monday 10/3 (even though we really don't desire to spend Monday at the MK since that is a high volume day). I hate to wait until 2 days later and try for Wednesday only to find that we can't get CRT for any of our days. AAUGH!!! Makes me wonder how we managed on our honeymoon 6 years ago when we made NO plans whatsoever other than where we were going to stay and whether or not to buy park hopper passes.

The good news is I did get a $75 reduction in our package price today because the airfare came down in price. :bounce:

I think I'm already on the list, but we are going October 22 - 28 (I think I had my dates wrong originally) and staying at BWV. We have tickets for MNSSHP on the 25th. :) I'm so excited. The six month mark snuck up on me, it wasn't until I had to schedule my 6 month teeth cleaning awhile back that I realized it was finally so close. Hooray!

3Aumillers - I would start calling on the first available day. Even if you get it on Monday and no other day, can you hop somewhere else right after your breakfast? I hope you can get into CRT on your preferred day! Good luck! I did CRT on my honeymoon and loved it!!!

Well considering all my posts to this thread, YES I AM!!

Right now the one thing I cant figure out is the costume! I know DD will be Princess Aurora, and I want to wear a dress, but I know Florida, is HOT HOT HOT - how do the characters handle it? Well, it will be at night...

and as I sit here by the open window in shorts, its darn cold!! (50 degress!!) *sigh, and no one can answer this but me!! I'm thinking if I dont get the costume I want, I'll always "wish I had"... but I hate being hot and uncomfortable!! :confused3

I'm leaning to booking a limo/towncar, we did this in July and felt it was money well spent! I just wish the airlines hadnt changed my flight plans!!

We are goning to be at AKL October 22-28. Got a great deal through Southwest for all 3 of us. This will be our 4th trip since Nov. 04. That AP is burning a hole in my pocket. I know DH will never let me get one again.
I have also been thinking about costumes for the 3 of us to wear. If anyone has idea's I would love to hear them. It would be for myself, DH and DD3.(who I am sure would want to be a princess) Going to MNSSHP on the 25th.

I think the ME option is great...no worries...best yet no charge. I guess I can see if your planning on renting a car...but for us...were only there three days, and we don't figure we'll have extra time to "drive" other places...so the disney transit is what we'll work with...besides that we have 11 people total in our group so that would be at least two cars/vans to deal with ...and try and find parking for. So were sticking with ME.

The dinning plan...I also think that's a great deal...of course it really depend on what kind of eater you are....and what kind of dinning you'll be doing. From what it sounds like...with having a 3.5yo...(I think you still have to buy the childs plan...$10 per day)...you can share your meals with him/her...and use their meal credits...for more sit down restraunts...stretching your $$ even farther....making the meal plan worth that much more.

EMH??? don't know what that is.

As for the CRT and calling for PS...I'd say if you have hopper tickets..you may as well call as soon as you can....unless you have something else you REALLY want to do that morning...If worst comes to worst...you'll get the CRT PS for Monday...then hop on over to the other park...Or..you may call day one, two, three..and so on...and get a PS for there each day...then you'd be able to cancel the ones you really don't want and keep the one you do. But if you don't have the hopper...I'd stick with calling when you were planning on going to that park. I don't see any reason to go to a park that has the higest attendence just because you got a PS time at a dinning place...But that's JMO...Only thing is with calling each day...even for days that you really don't want..you could be taking a spot away from someone who REALLY wants that day and time....Just something to think of.

As for costumes...I haven't given it much thought (Yet)....but my girls have Sleeping beauty dresses...and snow white dresses...I hadn't planned on packing them...but I guess we'll see. I think I may go as a tourist :teeth: or maybe a pirate: ...

Oh...silly me...Just figured out what EMH was...or at least I think I did. Were doing it...but then again were only getting a 2 day base ticket...so we want to get as much time in the park as we can....with a 3.5yo..it may be more difficult...it makes for some LONG days.

 I'm going crazy too. I'll be at WDW from 10/15-10/23 - BWV for 7 nights and AKL one last night for my bday present. It's driving me nuts b/c I don't know what the EMH hours are and there are things I want to do that are dependent upon that. The AKL night we're just spending the day at the hotel, but 10/20 is our Halloween Party, one night we want to go to Universal for their Halloween Horrors night, one night I want to do Fantasmic Dinner package and one night Hoop Dee Doo - but I can't plan any of that until I get the EMH hours - AAAHHHHH! :scared: Anyone have any advice?

Well, unfortunately, is seems like the EMH are changing well after the 30 day mark, so not much we can do about that. I figure they change them only when they see VERY large crowd levels. So maybe we'll be safe!

We are doing Cirque on the 15th, Hoop Dee Doo on the 18th, and MNSSHP on the 20th. I also plan on doing Fantasmic Dinner package one night too. My plan is to only do the EMH mornings, if I do anything at all. Then possibly shift over the the parks that aren't a busy after lunch. That would eliminate worrying about the evening stuff. Don't know if you and your family are morning people or not (I force mine to be :teeth: ).

How can I find last years park hours? My trip is from September 30- October 5. I'm trying to plan our days, but have no idea how early the parks will close.

Tikki,
I thought of requesting that area if 14 didn't work out. I was thinking of 37 b/c it looks like it's close to the bus stop and the parking lot. (We are driving, so we may drive to the park and take the bus, both) I heard that Bldg 14 gets very busy b/c of its location. However, when I made reservations for POR, I booked with a AAA discount and it gave us a waterview. Don't think that building 37 has a water view. I almost think I'd give that up as long as we're close to our transportation.
