Who's Going in October 2005??!!*MNSSHP dates & info*

made ressies yesterday for SSR only place left with any studios for Oct 16-21. My sister and two sons along with myself will be going. Our first time for MNSSHP and so excited :Pinkbounc I had really wanted to go at that time instead of Christmas but DH has to follow a school schedule. He got us plane tickets for my b-day next week, oh how I love that man! Need to get costumes in order now :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I had previously posted our dates as Oct 15-23. Thanks to Song Airlines cancelling all flights out of Newark NJ (EWR) as of Sept 6, we had to make arrangements for flights on Continental. We are using free skymiles and in order to use them had to extend our trip to get flights. Sooo, now our dates are Oct 13 -24! Ahhhh, what we thought was horrible at first has turned into a some terrific pixie dust - more time in WDW!

Here we go ... since AR (PS) need to be made in about a month I figured I'd better get started on some sort of an itinerary ... please feel free to make suggestions for us.

Our traveling party includes me (31), DH (28) and DD (3.75) .. we got in on the free dining option so here we go ... :Pinkbounc

Saturday: 10/1 -- Arrive MCO at 4:00; pick up rental car and head for POP; Dinner at Chef Mickey's (8:00 p.m. -- think that's a safe time to plan for?)

Sunday: 10/2 -- Bkfst in room; AK at park opening; Lunch at Flame Tree; Dinner at Beaches & Cream

Monday: 10/3 -- Bkfst in room; MGM at park opening; Lunch at Toy Story Pizza Planet; Dinner at POP Food Court

Tuesday: 10/4 -- MK day; Bkfst at CRT (hopefully); Lunch at Cosmic Rays; Dinner???????

Wednesday: 10/5 -- Epcot day; this is the day I can't make a decision on; possibilities are Princess Storybook Bkfst; Garden Grill and Le Cellier. Obviously we can't eat at all 3 places or we will be stuffed. HELP!!!

Thursday: 10/6 -- Haven't picked a park; figure we'll go to the one that DD enjoyed the most earlier in the week; Dinner at Whispering Canyon

Friday: 10/7 -- Water Park Day; Lunch at park; Dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse (is that a crazy option for a Friday nite of a holiday weekend?)

Saturday: 10/8 -- Departure Day -- need to leave hotel by 2:30 to head for the airport so probably shopping at Downtown Disney that morning or just spend time at the pool.

Other dinner options we are considering include: CRT; 1900 Park Fare; O'hana (hopefully to catch the fireworks from the beach); ESPN Club (for DH)

I'm anxiously awaiting responses from other Disney planners!!!

Thanks,
Sarah :wave2:

You stole my idea

Well .. not really ... I did tell DH that it would be neat if we had 7 kids so we could do the same .. but since we only have 1 it wouldn't work so well .. :flower:

Sounds pretty good to me! From what I've read the ESPN Club doesn't get very good reviews. I haven't been there though. I guess since you get the plan for free, you really can't go wrong, can you? :rotfl: Are you not wanting to do any character dinners? They are lots of fun!

We actually like the ESPN club, we eat there usually twice in the week we stay. It's not gourmet food, but it is tasty, and the portions were plenty!

We plan to do Chef Mickey's character dinner the nite we arrive but I guess the other potential character meals are all bkfst (CRT; Princess Storybook Bkfst) .. possibly 1900 Park Fare Character Meal. Hmmm ... might need to go back to the drawing board ... in the beginning I thought all I had was character meals and thought it would be overkill but once I penciled everything in I see it's quite the opposite. That's why I posted my preliminary outline here ... I LOVE advice.

Now that we have saved so much on dining I hope I can convince DH that we REALLY do want to do MNSSHP. I wonder if it's too late to get LTT ressies on the 6th. -- just called and found that the first available ADR they have for 3 is at 6:55 at LTT. I'm thinking that is too late ... what do the rest of you pro's think???

I'm no pro, my son and I are taking our first October trip this year.

I'd take the 6:55 PS then keep trying for something better. People may have booked LTT until they can book what they really want. At the 90 mark, people may book at other restaurants, then cancel LTT.

Have you tried requesting a PS for a larger party size? They may only have a 6:55 for a party of three (four top) but have an earlier seating for a party of 5 (six top).

I find it so entertaining to call in to the Reservations Dept at WDW. Each time I call I obviously get a different CM but each time I call I get a different answer to the same question. It's almost becoming amusing to where I want to call every day but I'm sure they log into the system each time I call. Today I called to make sure we have insurance as it wasn't listed on our reservation that I pulled up online. Yep .. have insurance. He then questioned why we requested Building 9-10 (Toy Story) when we are staying at POP. I briefly explained that when I called to upgrade to the great MYW dining option yesterday that I couldn't get it at Movies and had to move to POP. His exact words .."that's crazy, there is no reason they had to move you from Movies because it is and was available there." He asked if we wanted to go back to Movies but I declined .. I did say that if he wanted to upgrade us to the AKL for the same price I wouldn't turn him down. Darn .. he didn't go for it. :rotfl:

I'm a bit miffed about the airfare. I noticed a reduction in price a week ago so I called in and the CM took 3 minutes to give me the reduction. I've called twice since then because it's dropped another $49 and both CM's have given me a different excuse as to why it can't be reduced. I guess I'll keep watching it and if it's a substantial savings I'll call back and see where it gets me.

Sorry to take up so much space .. I'm addicted to this board.

3au... Sarah!! :flower:

You're not taking up so much room as far as I'm concerned!! I'm so very confused about this whole thing its not even funny, I truly appreciate reading everybody's posts!! For me, your itenarary (sp check!) is helpful - I hadnt realized I booked the weekend of a HOLIDAY! :faint: I havent resolved that in my mind, and all I can think of is - "NOW WHAT?" I've tried to figure out park days, and I give up!! I want to do Fantasmic, Food and Wine, and of course all the rest!!

I didnt do the dining, and I'd be jealous/envious, if not for the fact of F&W!! I plan on spending a lot there - and that wont be included!! Also, I'm so hoping of getting a great Florida Ressident Rate (now that's not the only reason my parents are coming! :rotfl: )

I keep thinking of excuses to call those CM's! And that darn airfare/ reservation thing is driving me crazy - United, now way, well, now maybe way... American Airlines I booked at the times I wanted, at a price I thought was fair (based on Southwests published fares...) and now the stupid AA decided to drop the original flight times!!

For my ressies for eating - I'm planning on 'Ohana for our first night, and H&V for a fantasmic pkg, LTT for the 6th, CRT, and Princess Storybook Bkfst... then I'd kinda like to do 1900 Park Fare, but I'm thinking all these places are buffets!! Oh and I absolutely LOVED LeCellier, but since its Epcot, I'm wanting to eat my way thru the F&W - but :confused3 and I want to know the weather!! :rotfl2:

I'll be and POP on 10/1 and I was also thinking of eating at Chef Mickey's that evening. It might be kinda neat if we see each other :goodvibes .

I haven't made any decisions on other meals. I think I'm going to stick with alot of counter meals. Partly because of price and partly because it's harder for my son at the sit downs because of the waiting time.

I haven't decided which parks on what days. I have 1o days at Disney and 1 for Sea World. I'm going to try for shorter park days since I have more days than I did last year. I haven't seen Fantasmic or been to MNSSHP so I'm really looking forward to both of them this year.

Littlestix --- Did you know about the new "free" MYW Dining Option that is valid for your nights of stay??? I understand it's not free to some people if they have AP rates or AAA rates but it's worth checking out if you haven't already done so.

I'm starting to rethink Chef Mickey's for night #1. Our plane lands at 3:55 p.m. We then have to get our rental car; make a quick grocery stop and get checked in. I wonder if DD will be willing to sit still thru a "dinner" that night. So much to consider. This will be our 1st trip to Disney with her .. she'll be almost 4 at that time. I'm wondering if she will be ok with the characters or will be freaked out. Thought if we hit AK on Sunday she can see the characters from a distance rather than have them approach our table on night #1. (But how cool would it be for us to be at Chef Mickey's together on night #1)

Hi! We (party of 9) will be staying at the WL 10/22-10/29 and will attend MNSSHP, probably the night of 10/23. :goodvibes

Thanks for maintaining such a great list!
