Anyone going the first week of October that would like to share their "itinerary" I would love to see it.

This is my latest revision: (it seems to change by the hour)

Saturday 10/1 -- arrive and check in
Sunday 10/2 -- AK Donald's Breakfastosaurus
Monday 10/3 -- MGM Lunch at Sci Fi
Tuesday 10/4 -- MK CRT; Dinner at CP before Spectromagic and Wishes
Wednesday 10/5 -- Epcot with Princess Storybook Bkfst .. maybe Illuminations
Thursday 10/6 -- Downtown Disney for a.m. shopping; revisit AK in the afternoon
Friday 10/7 -- EMH at M.K. prior to Chef Mickey's at 10:30; return to Epcot for Le Cellier for DN
Saturday 10/8 -- MGM and Epcot

I'm going crazy trying to figure out when to do everything. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Party will consist of Me (31); DH (28) DD (4) MIL (50)

While I think we are going to be at Epcot on Saturday, October 8, I'm still questioning the wisdom of that. I remember reading either on this thread or another October thread that the locals like to attend F&W on Saturdays (makes sense) so therefore it's more crowded that day. We will only be there Thurs night - Monday, so our options are limited. Friday we are attending MNSSHP, so that leaves us with Saturday or Sunday for F&W.

So - it looks like you'll be at Epcot at least on Wednesday. If you want to visit it twice, the only thing I'd suggest is you reconsider Saturday. But I have no idea... :confused3

Keep in mind even if its "crowded" IT's DISNEY! I really cant believe it would be more crowded Columbus Day, or any Saturday compared to the 4th of July, Memorial Day, or that Regis and Kelly Day!!

dh, myself,(in our 40's) DD8, my parents (in their 60's havent seen us in 3years, we have an estranged relationship - Pixie Dust!!)

Tues -arrive 2ish - MK??? Dinner at Polynesian (my parents only will have 3day passes)
Wed -MK (CRT? Or should I hold off and do this later?) and do Epcot on Wed
Dad is Richard Petty driving, mom with us! (dad does NOT want to do Parks!)
Thurs -MNSSHP evening, so Day :confused3 AK or Epcot
Friday - Epcot late start probably Dad will golf so Mom and DD will sleep in and DH and I will do an opening
Sat - MGM with Fantasmic :confused3
Sun - AK with both parents as theyve never done this park
Mon MGM or a redo day...
Tues go home boo hoo at noon... for 3 hours back to MK :confused3

We dont have a lot of souvies to buy so I cant see going to DTD for us, we're not getting plusses so I dont think we'll do DQ or Water Parks... but I have this aggravating feeling my mom will want to take DD to a water park and pay out of pocket, so dh and I can go on our own!! And the Food and Wine hasnt given us event dates, so that will throw us off some...

This just gets more depressing the more time I spend trying to shore up dining plans! :sad2:

any comments?? :listen:

Thanks Karen --- I had read about the locals hitting Epcot on the weekend but of course didn't remember it ... we will rethink Epcot for Saturday. We were considering Illuminations for Friday nite ... think that will be bad idea w/ the holiday / weekend crowds???

Me (DW), DH, DS9(turns 10 during trip) :Pinkbounc , DS5(turns 6 two weeks later and wants to know why we can't stay at WDW for his b-day :rotfl: ), DD2.

CR-October 2-8...free dining :cool1:

10/2/05-dinner at 'Ohanas. We were going to do MK for a bit but it closes at 6 this night for MNNSHP. Guess early to bed...any other ideas?

10/3/05-EMH at Epcot(hopefully), CS lunch then pool/rest time onto MGM for fantasmic

10/4/05-MK day, CS lunch then pool/rest back to MK for TS dinner...WHERE?, and hopefully the kids will make it for fireworks(never could stay awake before)

10/5/05-DS 10th b-day :teeth: ..his choices (if budget allows we will do a Character breakfast this day) MGM, lunch at SciFi, Cape May Cafe for dinner and mini golf

10/6/05-the boys may do the Pirate Cruise pirate: still deciding on that one. Lunch will be CS at resort(CR or GF)pool/rest up for dinner at LTT and MNSSHP. :bounce:

10/7/05-AK lunch at CS, pool/rest, dinner at Le Cellier and illuminations

10/8/05-Breakfast at CRT(if I can not get it will go to CP) MK until time to leave on ME for home.

Suggestions....

here is mine:

9/28 Arrive MCO 1:00

ME to Poly check in, swim, walk around, ride monorail to
CM dinner
maybe EMH at MK (UNSURE)

9/29 MK lunch at CRT
9/30 MGM lunch at Sci fi MNSSHP tonight at MK
10/01 EPCOT dinner at Le Cellier
10/02 AK dinner at Ohana at Poly

Donna21... One thing I was confused by, you said if budget allows?? You also say you're on the Dining Plan... I'm making columns, checking allearsnet.com for menu prices, they have a list of child's menus and prices... I'm going to have DD8 share some of our meals, and/or pay out of pocket for her meals, that way we'll use her TS credit for us to do a great tS meal...

So I made one column of all our days, next column available TS credits, one column for pricing (esp Buffets, I want to eat at 1900, LTT, CRT) then a column of possible places to eat and how much TS credits needed... so I can play with the TS credits...

your ds may love AK breakfast buffet... but I havent researched that!

Also the "historical" days and emh schedules can be found here>>>

Well, looking at two of the three itineraries following your question - they are also thinking Epcot/Illuminations that night. Hmmm....with it being an MNSSHP night, I don't know if that increases Epcot crowds (plus, again, locals heading out on a Friday night to sample the fare).

As we all keep saying, though, it'll be a blast regardless!

We are going Oct. 2-7 for our 10th anniversary without our kids. The reason we chose October was because it was supposed to be one of the slower times. Guess not!

Here is my plan (subject to change of course! )

Mom, Dad, 3 kids 4,6, & 9

10/1 Sat - Arrive 9 am POR AB. Check in, head to MK. Chef Mickeys for dinner

10/2 Sun - MK all day, nice boat ride to WL & dinner at WCC.

10/3 Mon - EPCOT all day, dinner at Akershus to meet the princess's

10/4 Tues - MK all day. Breakfast at CP & dinner at CRT

10/5 Wed - MGM all day. Mama Melrose for dinner & Fantasmic.

10/6 Thurs - Hang out at POR, swim & relax. Off to MK for MNSSHP & dinner at LTT at 5:30pm

10/7 Fri - Late start (we will be pooped from night before) to AK. Dinner at Boma's. Check out the animals & sites at AKL

10/8 EPCOT all day. Dinner at Beirgarten

10/9 MK in the morning. Magic family tour from 9:30am to noon. Off to Epcot after the tour (to avoid the crowds). Final dinner at WDW at Le Cellier.

10/10 - we have to leave by noon so maybe breakfast at POR or foodcourt & a short walk through the grounds before we go.

How's that sound?

I ran out of TS credits for our other meals including our traditional character breakfast on departure day. But I'm working on figuring out where it would be good to pay for one DS or share meals to save on some TS credits. So confusing. :confused3 I like your speadsheet idea, though.

It is tough to plan when you don't have the hours I agree! We are doing the same thing as you, no plusses & didn't want to waste time at DTD since I am not buying more than a tee shirt for us (HCOE), photo album (HCOE) & maybe a Christmas ornament.

Your plan looks good. I like the idea of you getting some time alone..

I would suggest for your Wed..you asked if you should wait? I wouldn't. I think it's fun to get in favorite or special meal early in the trip. We do CM the first night because we like to see Mickey right away..starts the vacation for us.

Have fun!

Oh yea, thats a whole other planning thing! The dining plan!!! I wanted to pay out of pocket for some meals too so you really have to know what you are doing & plan well for that!

Oh, sure, it's much slower than summer, Christmas or Spring Break. Enjoy!!

I myself was thinking about this because we tend to eat 2 TS meals a day. So what I have done is wrote down all the rest. we MUST eat at and the average price for them, if their a buffet or not, and what I think my DD (4) will eat there. So for the more expensive meals I will use our Dining Plan and for the resturants I know my DD won't eat much or at all i will either pay for her meal or let her share mine. I have figured out that we will beable to have 2 more TS meals for me and my DH. So I was thinking of using them for the Hoop-De-Doo. Hope this helps!

I know I'm greedy but darn it ... I want the best deal. Airfare is changed so we can stay an extra day. POP doesn't have the free dining package available for our extra night but for the low low price of $110.38 we can get a room for one night. Call me cheap ... but that's crazy. I don't want to stay there that bad to pay that price. Now if the free meals were available for the extra night and rooms/meals cost $110.38 I wouldn't be complaining. :teeth:

So what do I do??? Keep calling them to see if something has opened .. go with Priceline and get a room closer to the airport for our 10:30 flight out on Sunday ... switch airfare back and just go home a day early. So many things to consider.

My biggest fear is I have made so many changes to the pkg that we will get there and everything will be messed up!!!

AAUGH

Oh man Aumillers, I hear ya!! :flower: I'd do an extra day, dont think I'd pay that much either - are you at Pop? If so, join me in my crusade and call Disney (800 of course! :goodvibes ) every day!! Surely something WILL open up! (fingers crossed for :wizard: )

Ok, I"m just back from lunch and stopped by to see if all my questions have been answered, if all my problems have been solved!! :cool1: :rotfl2:

I still have a headache!! (last night I thought I should start drinking, but since I already HAD a headache I refrained!! :rotfl: ) Thanks for the inputs! I'm going to add the California Grille with 2TS credits for our family, pay out of pocket for DD and bring her an activity to do while we adult dine! I'll hope to have had breakfast at CRT so that should help! My dad is doing Richard Petty, so I think an elegant meal at Calif Grille may be a great touch... unless I should save it for later!!! :rotfl2: (I do NOT obsess!! :rotfl: or overplan!! :rotfl: )

Mommykds Do you have all boys? What do you and Minnie21 do for a living, you both seem so organized, and I appreciate both of you taking so much of your time here!!

AAAAAack I forgot I was going to stop at Michaels to do some pre shirt shopping, I'm seriously going to try and make matching shirts!! Anyone else?

I'm back .. the helpful CM that I was working with last on the phone called me back to say that guest services goofed up and accidentally added the package pricing to our one additional night. That's great .. but in doing the math I see that one extra night is going to cost me $160.88. When I called this a.m. to change airfare the CM said that price stayed the same. So .. why such a HIGH rate for one night lodging. While I don't want to call and bug them again .. there is no way I'm going to pay that rate. I think I'll wait until I go home and call from there this evening. Don't want to annoy my co-workers anymore than I have today. I'm going insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
