We're going to be there October 27-30 following a 3 day Disney cruise! We're surprising my mother and my 11 year old niece (they'll both be first timers) Cant wait. Was wondering about crowd levels at parks other than MK, especially on Sunday, Oct 27.
We are not Halloween fans at all. Is this an opportunity to enjoy a quiet day elsewhere, and what do you think about hours at other parks? Will they close early?

Zurgswife - Won't be at MNSSHP on the 27th, we don't arrive until the 31st. We would be interested in a mini DIS meet at BWV on the 31st. We are going to MNSSHP on Nov. 1.

Are many schools out during that week??? We actually booked our vacation specifically because usually that isn't any school vacations and thought it would be a quiet time. Hopefully we weren't wrong.

Hi Zachsmom8899 (and fellow Mass Diser): We always go Halloween week and find the crowds very good. You may run into the odd crowd but it's not overwhelming. We've always loved the weather then too!

That's good to know. From what I hear, October is a very quiet month, especially the begining. One of the replies here said that there kids were on fall vacation. I have never heard of that, and was hoping that it is not a big thing with schools now. I sure hope not. I would be so disappointed to get there and find out it was a big school vacation week.

Where do you usually stay when you go??

8 yr old DD will just miss school for 2 weekd (augh the make-up work - but she hasn't missed a day in 3 years)

Hey again Zach's mom, I know I'm pulling my DS out of school for a week. He is mildly autistic and we really need to go at a quiet time, plus you get very spoiled with the low crowds. He'll be six and DD will be 1. This year we are staying at GF. We were originally staying at WL but I switched the ressies to surprise my DH. I'm desperately trying to save the $ difference between now and when we go. Where are you guys staying? I know a fellow Mass Diser will be there as well.

I'm glad to hear that our quesses were correct and it isn't to crowded then!
This is my first trip to Disney and trying to pick a hotel was impossible! I just looked at a map to see where things were located - saw a few pictures and picked Port Orleans French Quarter - hopefully it wasn't a bad choice! Was it hard to change your ressie's? I would LOVE to stay in a savanna side at Animal Kingdom! Now that I know! Thanks to Disboards!

Good for you staying at the Grand Floridian!! It is so beautiful there. We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge. I've never actually stayed there, but have had dinner there before. I'm really looking forward to it. I can't believe it is only 4 months away.

I was glad to hear it shouldn't be busy myself. It will be my son's (3 yo) first time there and I really didn't want to ruin it with a busy time.

We haven't decided about LTT either...Zurg doesn't want to eat there and I think I might only want to eat there....so we are still deciding...

Me again! Called and got our MNSSHP tickets last night! Woohoo. Just an FYI I asked if you could pick them up at the resort and they said they either mail them to you or you can pick them up at the ticket window.

Hi! I just discovered this thread! My DD and I will be visiting WDW from 10/23-10/30. We want to do the MNSSHP on the 27th. We'll have my folks with us (we're all going to Orlando for my cousin's wedding-he and his fiancee are CMs). I'm thinking about staying at PO-FQ. My folks would appreciate the atmosphere and quiet, and my DD will appreciate the cool pool!
