2/6-2/18 @ ASMu...Steve (first time, at 41 yo), Lisa (41, Disneyholic, 10+/- visits), Stephanie (14, 3rd time) and Alex (3, 2nd time). We're not telling the kids til the night before we leave, so mum's the word!
My family and I will be at Poly February 12-18.
Myself (32 and no one understands why I'm so crazy over Disney)
DH (32)
DS's 7 & 6
This will be our third family trip to Disneyworld!!!
WE will be there also! Myself, hubby and three children(DD-18, DS-15, DS-9). Too many visits to count!! (we have been going to WDW since my DD was 2 years old)Right now we have booked at BCV 2/16-21. We are trying to get into a Delux for 13-15. My husband is in the Military and I am waiting for overflow rooms to be given to SOG. Contemporary is full!(this hotel is being used by SOG while SOG is closed for renovations). Also waiting on AP rates and considering Portofino at Universal!(there Entertainment Book rates are not out yet) This will be the first time we have visited in Feb. We are hoping for some nice weather! Joan
Kaye, I was thinking of doing concierge for the first part of our trip. Did you book it at the regular rack rate? Hope you do not mind me asking this! Joan
Joan--yes for now. Waiting for a code that will hopefully come out next month sometime. We are happy with the garden view, so we at least save some $$ there. The kids like to play on the beach and eat their desserts while the fireworks are going on anyway. We love the Poly, and the concierge makes it that much better!
We're going to be there Feb 1-8, staying at CBR. It's becoming quite the family vacation. Some of us have been there before and others haven't. Going on the trip is my 77 year old grandparents (both very active) and fiance, who have never been before, my uncle, aunt, 11 yo cousin, mom and myself.
I'm so excited to go back! Only thought I'd get to go once. I'm already mapping out our itinerary (cursed from birth as a "planner").
I'm most excited to take my grandparents and David (fiance) since they've never been. My grandpa loves telling the story of driving around where Disney is now when they first started building it. Now he gets to see what it looks like 30 odd years later.
We will be at CR (thanks to SoG) from Feb 20 to Mar 2. This was supposed to be a 30th anniversary trip.....BUT what to do when 7year old darling granddaughter comes to live with you while Mom is in Korea? Just can not bring myself to say Grammy and Poppy are going to WDW, Mommy is in Korea, and you get to stay home. So there will be 3 of us. Can't wait!!!!
Kaye, Thanks for the reply! One more question?? Are you on the 1st floor(I was reading another thread and most seem to prefer 1st floor with Poly) and what part of the hotel are you in if you take garden view? Thanks, Joan ( we have never stayed at the Poly. have done Contemporary and GF, but I want to be ready to decide quickly when it's offered!)
We will...yipee! We will be at the VWL Feb 1- Feb 8. The plan is my sister, her BF and DS will meet me, DH and DD and share a 2-bd villa. Then on Mon, our Dad, his wife and our Grandma are coming up from Ft Myers and we will have a little family reunion! It will be my Dad's 60th birthday and my nephew's 8th. We were supposed to go to the Luau but I guess now we will just go to Ohana's and hope there are fireworks or something. I can't wait!!!!
Joan--we were on the first floor which is non-smoking. Third floor is smoking and the second floor doesn't have a patio or balcony. Last time we stayed at the Poly, DD was 6 and DS was 3. They liked to play around outisde and the patio made it convenient.
As far as where you are located, all the GV rooms face the quiet pool. There is a lot of flowers, plants, etc. so you have privacy when on the first floor.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!
lots of midwesterners and new englanders getting out of the snow in february! anyone been this time of year before? will we be able to swim? dh said 'i want to get on a plane in the winter and get off in the summer!', lol!
Kaye, Thanks for the info on the GV rooms! I like the 1st floor and being able to walk right outside! I would not mind a lagoon viem and being able to walk right outside also,IF the price is right! Joan
monalsw --- we always go in Feb. --- the weather varies. Some trips we swim and do a water park. Other trips we have just hot tubbed mostly. The kids always think it is warm enough to swim. I like it to be in the 80's to swim but they will swim in the low 70's
