Who's from NH?

I'm soooo done wiht snow days.

Bring on Spring !!

Ditto on the being done with snow days!! They were fun at first, now it means we will be in school tile june 23rd!! UGH!! So done with the snow - Skiing has been great, but enough is enough!! Bring on the warmth and sunshine!! :goodvibes

I know! We leave for Disney July 6th. A few days out of school and we'll be on our way :lmao:

What a lovely weekend we are supposed to have! So happy to see the snow melt. Although the thought of mud season ...:headache:
Oh well, I'll take the mud:lmao:

So my DH wants to do some traveling around NH this summer. He said he went on a waterslide when he was a kid named the Cannonball or something like that. Anyone know of this? i have done a search, but cant find much of anything. We are in southern NH, so we would have to go north. Is there alot to do in my own backyard? Clarks, Lost River, 6 Gun City... are these places something kids 12 and 9 would enjoy?:confused3
I guess its hard trying to come off a WDW trip:lmao:

My kids have been to Whales Tales Water Park http://www.whalestalewaterpark.net/ which is in Lincoln, NH. I've heard 6 Gun is ok, Lost River has some neat crevices to crawl through.

There is a water park in Portsmouth, NH called Water Country http://www.watercountry.com/ that we've been to. Kids loved it!

I dont know if I could do Lost River... not a tiny spaces fan:rotfl:
We usually do Water Country every year. He said something about Attitash... every time I search it. I find skiing.

well that is very cool!
I have lived here all my life and never heard of some of these places. I guess I didnt get out much as a kid:laughing:

Just noticed this thread. We lived in Epping near the Epping/Raymond/Fremont border for 14 years. My son was born in Exeter, my kids went to school at St. Thomas Aquinas in Derry. We had a condo at Lincoln, NH where we would spend the weekends skiing the 93 corridor and sometimes up as far North as Bretton Woods and as far South as Gunstock, though the kids of STA had their ski club at Pat's Peak. We moved away in 1998 before the Old Man fell down and the state decided it would rather be like Massachusetts. Beautiful state, I'll always have fond memories of our time there.

Have you been to Canobie Lake Park? It's no Disney but my sister and I always had fun!

Attitash has the alpine slide, a waterslide, a climbing wall and several other things to do in the summer. There is also a zipline at Wildcat Mountain. I haven't been there though. If you really want an adventure, check out Alpine adventures zipline in Lincoln. Diana's Baths and the various river stops along the Kancamagus are cool places that your kids might like. A trip up the Mount Washington auto road could be fun. My kids loved the Polar Caves at that age. Check out this website for a few other ideas http://www.visitwhitemountains.com/things-to-do/attractions/default.aspx I love NH in the summer!

Watch out people. The florecent signs are now out there.:lmao: Safe driving.

Mud season is definitely here. DD just went to work (at Attitash) and called to let me know that I might want to take the truck instead of the Subaru when I go to the grocery store. She had a tough go in the old Subaru getting down our road. The mud is always bad but this year seems worse to her. Town won't do anything until at least tomorrow. If the school bus gets stuck, then they try to do some work on the road! And the bus driver, much to his dismay, has to come up our road because there are a total of 5 kids who "might" ride the bus. Most days he picks up none since a few of them (like my DD) now drive and they can sleep an hour later if they drive to high school.

But the bus has to come. The driver calls us when he is stuck at the bottom of the hill because of ice or on our side of the hill because of mud.

Thanks for all the tips! I honestly cant believe I havent heard of these places.

We live on a dirt road and our door yard is dirt. So, at this time of year we say we live on a mud road. I completely understand about the four wheel drive. I had issues myself getting up the road in 2 wheel drive car.

:surfweb: I just watched the NH Chronicle episode I missed last week!! All I can say is - I WANNA GO TO DISNEY WORLD!!! I was on the down side of my addiction and being needy of all things Disney - Until now!!! DS2 was sitting next to me as I watched it and then as we surfed YouTube for Wishes, Winnie the Pooh and other fun things, his face was PRICELESS!!!!! :cloud9: Thankfully DH was sitting right here to see it and hear DS2 say, " I want to go see Micky Mouse!" and I Want to go to Dinney Wowld"!! TOO CUTE!! Well, at least it puts a bug in DHs ear about when to go, wanting to go and all those sorts of things!! I just hope the economy picks up so it might be alittle more managable!!? We will do it inevitibly, its just a matter of what scale we can afford to do it on!!

I know what you mean about wanting to go to Disney World! Our next trip isn't until September - DH and I are having some withdrawal. But DD is off to college in the fall and we are trying to conserve cash flow since we are going to try to pay what we can of her tuition. Our September trip will be our first with just DH and me. We thought about bringing our grandson but he'll be just about 2 years old and we don't know if we are able to keep up with him for a week! Maybe next year.

The NH Chronicle episode was good though.

It is going to be a beautiful weekend!

Not me. My plate reads 4senuf. Anyone ever see me tooling about town??

There's someone that works at the school with me whose plates ate Tortuga. I need to find that person.
