Who's from NH?

Hey everyone from your neighbor in Vermont! We got back from Disney on Monday. :( When we got down there it was cooler there than it was here! I had no problems adjusting because it was a relief compared to the weather up here. Isn't that weird???? Chilly now, though, especially in the morning!

Glad you had a safe trip home.

Did you tell MICKEY and his friends HI from all of us.

How was the humidity down at WDW? I'll be heading down in 3 weeks for my first August visit to WDW. Normally, I visit in the cooler months, but by going in August, I can take my nephew for 10 days within him missing any school.

I no longer live there but I grew up in Hollis, NH. I will be bringing my daughter down to NH next week to show off the home state.

THANKS! Of course!

It wasn't too bad - but several days were muggier than others. I really think it was hotter up here, quite honestly. Hopefully it won't be too bad for you in August!!!

Thanks! I was out practicing today. :lmao: I headed down to Newport RI for the day and boy was it hot.

I did not read the whole thread but I have a question I was driving down old route one from Topsfield in Ma to NH and I saw tons of granite stores. I am looking to get granite counter tops but I have 80 square feet that I need to cover so naturally I want to find a place where I can get a bargain. Anyone know a good granite quarry or fabrictor in that area that has low prices? When I say low I am asking for like 30 sq foot installed. It is funny I never paid attention but on old rte one and even new rte one in this area there had to be like 15 granite stores. I got black pearl for by bathroom and honestly I wanted one of the lighter colors if possible.

I live in Ma right outside of Boston.

I know this is a long shot but I figured I would try.

TIA

Was it hot enough this weekend? I was actually in Mass doing the Susan G Komen 3 Day For the Cure breast cancer walk. It was in the high nineties there on Saturday. And living in the mountains of New Hampshire, I did most of my training on dirt trails and roads. When I ended up at Medical having my feet taped up because of blisters on the soles of my fee, they said they can always tell the Maine, NH and Vermont walkers - we're the ones who aren't used to talking on pavement!

And on top of it all it rained on Friday. So on Saturday the tents became saunas.

But it was still an great experience!

Ouch, you poor thing! I understand exactly what you mean! We hike regularly here in Vermont with our dog and consider ourselves pretty fit, but our feet were TORN UP walking at WDW last week. Nothing else hurt, just our feet!

What a beautiful day it is today in NH!

I don't know if it's because I have a Mickey Head antenna topper but I've noticed so many lately. :goodvibes

Went shopping in Concord today and saw a license plate with (I think this was how it was spelt) dsnyroks. They also had a Mickey Bar antenna topper and were parked in the parking lot at Best Buy. I wanted to say hello but wasn't sure if they DISed and thought that they might think I was accosting them or something.

Any time you see an ugly little silver Honda CRV with a rainbow of Mickey heads on the antenna, topped by a Mickey bar topper, feel free to say HI! DD and I were laughing yesterday at the Mall of NH because I parked next to a car with just ONE Mickey head topper.... I said "I WIN" because I have about 6 or 7 stacked on my antenna!...............P

Hey All,
I am so glad I found this thread..
I was born and raised in Northeastern Massachusetts; I bought my first home in Derry, NH (off English Range RD) and lived there for 4 years until my job transferred me. Well 10 years later + husband and son now, we want to move back to NH from Atlanta. My husband is looking for a job now, fingers crossed he gets it. We are really ready to go. We love the Seacoast of NH  and hope to end up buying a home there.
I was wondering if anyone else is there, particularly Rye, Hampton or Portsmouth. What do you think of the schools in that area? How about sports programs for a 7 year old boy? He is currently into baseball (plays all star) and basketball. How about the commute from this area to Manchester, I heard they have finished 101 and was wondering if it is doable to commute that far?
Any information you can help me with would be wonderful!!!!

Welcome back to NH ! I don't know about school over in the area you are looking but I will tell you that the Rte 101 commute is not something you want to do. At least not from one end to the other, every day ! I hate driving that road and avoid it as much as I can.

I was entering Hannafords yesterday and got a friendly hello and "I love your bag!" from a fellow Disney fan yesterday afternoon... I was so proud that someone finally noticed my new Dooney & Bourke Tonal Mickey bag, it made me smile all afternoon!! :thumbsup2 I assumed it was a fellow Dis-Addict and maybe even a Disboard junkie such as myself!?? :confused3

Had another Disney antenna topper sighting yesterday. A white SUV with a Mickey Bar antenna topper followed me from Newport to the interstate 89 on ramp in Grantham and then I followed them till I got off at Exit 18 for Hanover. They also had the family decals that were wearing Mickey Ears on the rear window.

Good morning!

Our vacation is over. I guess it back to normal. The worst thing about coming back from vacation is ~~~~I have to wear shoes:lmao:.

It seems that everywhere we went we saw "DISNEY" antenna toppers. Traveling to West Lebanon shopping we were at Kohl's and I saw a burgundy Dodge Caravan from our sister state Vermont with a Disney Family w/mouse ears sticker on the rear window.

We also traveled to Keene, Concord and to Laconia. It seems that they were everywhere, what a nice invasion. :mickeyjum

Hi again fellow NH peeps!

Has anyone had a substantial increase in homeowners insurance in the past year?

We have Allstate and ours is increasing by $187 at renewal next month.
My insurance agent said it was due to all the claims from the ice storms in the last few years. We personally haven't had a claim in a few years.

I had her bump our deductible up to $1,000 to save about $200/year.

I noticed mine went up also. Almost $300 since we bought our house 6 years ago and $200 has been in the past year. :scared1::scared1:
