Who's first on the all new Magic in Oct.

I'll be there! Sailing concierge for the first (and probably last!) time, so I will get to be among the first to board! I cannot wait! And it's SO good to know that she's back in the water on time!

We are on the Oct 20th sailing! :woohoo: And will have free wifi, so will try to post from the ship if time permits.

Free or not, the last thing I ever want to do onboard is get online. :badpc: :goodvibes

I imagine a lot of us will do trip reports. I plan to because it lets me organize everything. I doubt I'll post much while on the ship though.

Dumb question, but did you know it was the first sailing after the dry dock when you booked it?

Yes, but I didn't know what they were doing to it because I booked it so far our. I booked it because it was a double dip.

We in fact changed cruises specifically because of that. We were to set sail on the Fantasy Saturday in fact.

I know DH would love the internet just to upload posts to the blog. He'll probably head out to Starbucks in Nassau to do this. I think this cruise would the exception to the rule for him (except for me - no internet).

We didn't know but are very excited that it is!

So excited as we were booked but had to cancel in July.....but, work schedules actually changed for the better and we were able to book the 3rd sailing on 10/27/13!!! Can't wait to see all the new changes.

We are! :cool1: We've never cruised before, and we picked this one because the dates fit with the kids school schedule and the price was right, and I thought the double dip was cool. We found out about the refurb later.

We are booked for November 20th can't wait to see pictures. I will say I heard from a crew member he think I will like what they did with the ship lol

Were on the 10/27 cruise and we didn't even know about the changes until after we booked. We got sucked in after watching about the cruise on history channel and saw they were running an awesome special.

The drydock was on the schedule when it opened up, so yes we knew it was going to be the first cruise after a long drydock (we were actually disappointed because we wanted to do the Westbound transatlantic). We had wanted to do a longer cruise but none of the ships fit with what we wanted to do. So we built our own "longer cruise" and since the Magic is our favorite ship, decided to start with the first cruise after drydock. Like many, we knew there would be upgrades like they normally do on drydock. We thought the long one was scheduled more to do maintenance on some systems that were getting old (they had repeated problems with water leaks) than to completely overhaul the ship. So it was a nice surprise and glad we booked when we did because if we hadn't, we would have rearranged our schedule to end up doing exactly what we are scheduled for now! Looking forward to seeing everyone on the NEW Magic on 10/20 and I guess there will be a bunch of us that can compare notes when we are waiting to get back on for the 2 day cruise to nowhere!

We also booked because of the double dip. We did a double dip in January 2012 and loved it. DW likes the cruises but wasn't excited about doing this one again. That is, until she found out about the refurb. Since then she is worse than a kid on Christmas waiting to open presents.
