I voted "equally crazy", but I may be just a tad more crazy (although my wife is pretty darn crazy). :teeth:

It's me - dad & now grandp!! My DW is close.

My father was a foreman in a factory and my mother had polio when I was very young and couldn't work. We never vacationed as my dad always worked for the extra pay. I was determined to provide vacation experiences for my family. DVC has turned out to be a wonderful avenue for us.

I confess. It's the husband on the DVC Forum, planning the use of points, etc.

But my wife and I are about even on all things Disney, she just doesn't spend the time on the DIS or point planning.

I voted Both
BUT
I investigated when we heard of a Disney Timeshare and found these Boards.

I spent a year reading these boards to understand DVC vs TIMESHARE

I favored the BCV because of the location and made the move when they were pre-selling.

THEN

She decided we didn't have enough (200 ) points and did an (50) addon 2 weeks after our initial contact to purchase.

She decided Thanksgiving was a good time to have the Family down each year.

She decided that MVMCP would be fun. ( it was)

She decided we needed to go to the Food and Wine Festival which was great.

She decided we needed more (300) points and was right

She decided we needed to try the MNSSHP and that the the best evening and parade in my opinion, I'm still singing, well humming, WHICH WITCH is WHICH. ( found the CD at Toys R Us of the music that they played at the Magic Kingdom)

She decided our next trip is the Flower and Garden Festival this MAY (see below)

She has also planned our next Thanksgiving trip with the Kids and GrandKids ( also below)

Well thats it until our 2005 points come out.

As you can see I started it and created a DISNEY CRAZY MONSTER !!!!!

BUT I know we both feel this has been a great investment for us and the ability to share WDW and TIME with our family can not be described.

I'm the nut and the wife. DH is just learning about dvc since we joined, but I've been reading up on it for years.

I may be a little crazier than DH but I really believe that it is both of us. Our kids think we are a little crazy, too. I'm the one that always wants more pts. though.

Our childhoods are to blame.`

DW's family never took a vacation. She always thought of vacations as worthless -- a waste.

My family vacationed a lot. (Had no more money than DW's family. Just different priorities.) As Floridians we went to WDW frequently -- that was the 70's and early 80's (mostly pre-Epcot). I've got so many good memories there. I'm not sure I'd be so crazy about it otherwise.

My wife now admits she likes WDW. So do my kids. We do other things and go other places, but it's one place we all enjoy.

It's MEEEEEEEE!

I'm the obsessive planner, carrying around the Member's Guide in my briefcase wherever I go ... fretting over the restaurants that will please everyone ... trying to strike a balance between commando touring when we have guests vs. taking it easy when it's just family ... trying to figure out how I can get "just 100 more" points.

DW likes Disney OK, but it doesn't consume her. She's enjoyed burning some points (Charleston Place last June, the Plaza in '05). DD is just like her daddy. She eats it up.

While we own at BWV and VWL, DW did say, "man, it's nice having all this room at Old Key West." So, maybe a little add-on ... ?

This is definitely another vote for the wife, though DH is very happy to go along with it all once it's all organized. He finds all my planning and DVC worship rather amusing, but this is a man who spends a lot of his time using our PC to play power games. At least my obsession is useful!! :snooty: :teeth:

Wow...how lucky are those who answer "equally nuts"!! DW loves the vacations, but you'd never find her on these boards or doing the research. In our family, it's the hubby.

Great forum!

It's me, the DH in our family. DW likes WDW and DS and DD love it as I do, but I was the one who made the DVC plunge, make the PS and all other plans for the trip, take most of the WDW photos and videos on our trips, spend hours printing photos and watching the videos, and read the DIS DVC Forums almost daily. At least here there are other people who share my OCDD (Obsessive Compulsive Disney Disorder).

You know at first it was me. I was the one who wanted to go all the time. DH didn't mind, he's great, whenever I wanted to go, he went along with it. I even used to make him sit with me and decided what parks, what dates, and all that. I'd even make a chart of all we were going to do and when:rolleyes: He would just smile and go along with me. We even bought dvc last year. Well last February we included Universal. In June we found out I was pregnant, and we couldn't make our December trip. Guess who was going through wdw withdrawls? :earsboy: It was dh!!! Okay, it was Universal withdrawls, but hey, just as long as we're in Orlando. Even our daughter was saying she missed disney and excited that we're going this July. We didn't tell her we're going to go this Thursday-Sunday as a surprise. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I have to vote for equally crazy. Sure, I'm the one who is constantly reading the books and on the DIS and making the plans, but he loves it just as much as me and has a hard time thinking of vacationing anywhere else. I'm just the one who gets over-obsessing about researching and planning anything in our lives, and DH is dependent on me to fill him in on everything I find out.

However, my 5yo DD may have us both beat in the crazy dept. She has the Birnbaum's Disney for Kids book memorized and watching her Disney World for Preschoolers video with great regularity. She knows where to find hidden Mickeys and describes every ride she's been on in great detail.

I answered "wife", because I'm the one who obsesses...but I think dh has it in his blood. It's easier for him to sit back and let me do all the planning so I look like the disney nut!

I'm the nut! My DH loves DVC and WDW but I am the crazy one, always talking, always planning, always looking forward to our next trip, and always on this board.

I would have to say we are equally as crazy along with the kids they are more Disney crazy though as they arenot to sure what all the DVC stuff is really about all they know is we get to stay in nice places hehehe gotta love kids.

I, the wife, am the DVC Nut!!!::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

In fact, so much so, that my license plate says DVC NUT!

My husband and DD enjoy the benefits of my disney addiction. So much so that my husband has agreed to another add-on!!
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :hyper:

My wife doesn't really think about WDW until we get there, and then she turns into a big kid again, especially when she sees Minnie Mouse.

We are traveling with an infant this time around and I am eager to see her inner child come out again.

As for being a full-time fanatic, if you look at my bedside reading table or the favorites in my web browser, you will quickly realize that I have a few passions in life - Disney and planning for Disney and reading about other's trips and offering my experiences and so on is one of the major ones.
