We try and "Disney" theme every years. This year is is Alice in Wonderland! These were taken @ MNSSHP on 10/12/09. So, All of the costumes are cleaned and presses for Trick or Treat tonight.
Last year I had Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy. They were so sweet.
This year, I decided that they needed to just pick a costume from the closet. I have been stocking up on ebay and they won't last much longer as the kids are growing out of them.
So we have Minnie, Goofy, a chicken, and a bat. Not exactly coordinated, but I don't have to buy anything new, so I am good with it.
Love the pictures! Sadly, last time my girls dressed as Disney princesses was 2 yrs ago... my middle one made the most perfect Snow White. I think they think they are too old for that... but I don't!
DD6 will be Pocohantas. I made her a headband to go with the costume using real turkey feathers she found in my mom's yard. It came out pretty cute. She is sooooo excited. Halloween is her favorite holiday. She is already talking about what she will be next year!
This is the first year I don't have a true Disney character in any of my kids for Halloween. My DD10 still loves Disney, but saw a pretty purple and black witch costume she fell in love with so that won out this year.
Trust me when I say I understand your -- my DD8 is also going to have a purple/black witch costume this year ... it's the first year since she was 2 that she won't be a Disney character
DH as that DD 2 1/2 not be a princess so I compromised and she is going to be a NY Jets cheerleader. BOY, is she going to be mad when she see's the first Ariel walking around....
My DD7 was going to be Hannah Montana, which would have worked out since my wife wanted to be Lola Luftnagle, and I could have been Robbie Ray, but then we went to the Disney Store. Now my DD7 is going to be Sleeping Beauty and my DD3 is going to be Snow White, and I will be wearing my jackolantern T-shirt.
My DD13 was Constance for the DCA ToT Party, DD9 was a pirate, DBF was Hercules and I was Meg. Pretty sure DBF and I are doing the Herc/Meg combo again tonight..if not we will go as a cowboy and cowgirl. We may or may not dress up tomorrow, the kids will but DBF and I may not, depends on what we end up doing.
I'm impressed! I saw the Simplicity pattern for Iridessa and it scared me off. I don't have a sewing machine, so it would have taken me forever!
I modified a grown-out-of Belle dress by taking off all the flowers and ruffles, cutting the hem to look like flower petals, removing the Belle iron on and adding a sunflower seed iron-on. DD6 is very happy with it. I couldn't find an Iridessa costume to buy anywhere but some UK sites. Seems like Disney would have anticipated the interest with the second Tink movie coming out this week.
Cute. DD was Snow White for the MNNSHP. So, since we spent the big bucks recently at BBB, she's going to be Snow White again. But I'm not going to attempt to recreate the BBB hairstyle...
My DS6 wanted to be Woody this year, so we talked DS3 into being Buzz Lightyear! They are so cute together! DS3 has NOT liked putting on his Buzz costume though - so it will be interesting to see how long he will tolerate it on Halloween - long enough to get some cute pictures I hope!
