We are going in March for the first time. Are the first two weeks better than the last two weeks? We are looking for longer hours, and an open water park.

Also, how are the value resorts durning this time?

Thanks!!

Week of March this year crowds were average not heavy.Parks were not open late, water parks were open.If you go during spring break you have late park hours and you will need them for the the long waits for everything and water parks are filled to the brim.:D

We were there the 1st week of March this year. The water parks were open, but the park hours were the usual. MK was open until 6:00, MGM was until 7:00 or 8:00. The longest line we waited in was maybe 20 minutes. Towards the end of March, you may get more spring breakers.

Whenever you go, you'll have a great time! :D

We usually always go in March, my favorite time to go. ;0Great weather, but parks dont have the longest hrs during that time, except if you go closer to the end of March when the majority of spring breakers start filling the park. I think the first 2 weeks of March are better for crowds, less waiting times. The last 2 weeks of March, the lines pick up due to spring break for various dift schools.

We've had great luck the first week of March - it started to fill up with Spring Breakers just as we were leaving. The bad news is that it is considered peak season - so resort rates are higher, but the good news is that the crowds are pretty low!

The parks are not open very late - Epcot is the latest at 9 pm usually, but as crowds are so low, and the weather is awesome - you can get most everything done in the shorter hours! We just got back from our first summer trip (June 25th - July 2). I couldn't believe how little we were able to get done - the crowds and the heat really wear you out! Thank heavens for e-night - we'd never done that before - but it is worth the extra money!

There is only one water park open usually - the other doesn't open till the end of March - beginning of April I believe. Usually, it has been Typhoon Lagoon, but this year they switched the rehabs around, so Blizzard Beach will be open in early 2004. The value resorts are always pretty full - but they are prepared for that - so have a ball!

We were there the first week in March 2002. Had a great time. Too cold for comfortable swimming. We nearly froze during our day at the beach (Clearwater) and at POR resort pool. We also had a day where we tried to by long pants at any gift shop for my freezing little boy but all clothing like that had been sent back to storage or something so we had to leave the parks and go to Walmart. Wished we would have packed a few Winter clothing items but just never thought along those lines about WDW in March. As long as your heart is not set on swimming and you take a few warm clothing pieces along you will have a great time with low crowds.

We were there the first week of March this year and it was great! At first the weather was a little on the cool side (we arrived 2/27)- the only time I wanted a sweater was when we took the boat from the CR to the WL for dinner; that was our second night and it was about 65. Things warmed up though and it was 90 by about 3/6. Crowds were very low- we were able to go on everything with minimal wait- esp by using Fastpass (this was key at the MK for rides like Splash, Space and Big Thunder. Oh and Peter Pan if you don't hit it first thing in the AM). We enjoyed ourselves very much and wouldn't hesitate to go back at that time of year again. I think it gets much more crowded later in March when Spring Breaks start up.

I meant to add that the only water park open was Typhoon Lagoon. The hours for parks when we were there was this:

Epcot 9-9 (Future World opens at 9 and closes at 7; World Showcase hours are 11-9)
MK- 9-6
MGM- 9-7
AK- 9-5
TL- 10-5

We went to Early Entry for the MK and MGM and it was worth getting up early for as we were able to do all of Fantasyland at the MK in an hour, and ToT, RNRC, & Muppets at MGM in an hour.

I also was in WDW the 1st week in March this year because I was off of school for Mardi Gras. The lines were not long at all. Almost everything in Epcot was a walk-on. The weather was cool in the mornings and evenings and warm during the day. The only 2 drawbacks were the hotel prices and the night shows/parades. For example) Spectromagic was only 1 time that week. It is considered peak season so we paid $122 a night for ASMu. Sometimes these same rooms go for $49 a night. I wouldn't wait for the end of March if I were you because of the springbreakers.

i went to MK in March this year - i think the longest wait was the Peter Pan ride - we never went on it but walked past on our way home.

the most we waited for a ride was 25 minutes.

Kool time to go

Although I have been other times of the year, most of my trips to WDW have been the last weeks of February or the first weeks of March. I find that time of the year to be the most pleasant when it comes to the weather, crowds and "bug" population.

Most of the attractions are open the first weeks of March, just between mid winter school vacation (for Northerners) and Spring Break. Temperatures are usually in the high 70's to low 80"s during the day, but can get frost at night. Humidity is much lower and "the skys are not cloudy all day"...Oops! Got carried away there. I'm back now!

In summary, I think it is a great time to go.
:sunny: :smooth:

We went the middle of March. The weather was great, the only rained out day was the day we left.

We went Wed for 10 days. The first part of the trip there were cheerleaders, the younger ones. They were not too bad and were mostly supervised. We did not have any issues with these kids.

The following week was another story, the older cheerleaders were unsupervised - and they were very disruptived. We stayed at POFQ and one evening, they came over from POR and took over the pool. We were very nervous that someone was going to get hurt, people jumping in the pool on top of each other, etc, that we left the area. They were also rude on the busses and in the food area. One actually sneezed on my food as they were passing my table. uck.

Sorry to be so negative, but they put a damper on our trip.

Suggest you go the first week in March or the last week and let the teenagers run amok during the inbetween.

:D

Hi!

We were also there the first week of March this year and by the end of the week we were at the outlet malls buying more shorts and tee shirts. The crowds were very light. We are from New Orleans and were also there for the Mardi Gras holiday and most of the people we saw were people we knew from New Orleans.

Mardi Gras is about a week earlier this year, so maybe the crowds will be even lighter?

I thought that time of year was very enjoyable even with the shortened hours. We were able to do ALOT because the crowds were so light. Also, there were two E nights the week we were there.

Hope that helps!

We are actually looking for long hours because of our time change...three hour difference. It was VERY hard last time on our daughter. We had to make her get up at 3:30 am our time to get to a 7:30 PS for Bfast. Needless to say, we dont need to see it all, and probably wont because this time we will have our son who is 16 mos old. We would love to stay out late though...Our kids stay up late anyway, and we arent afraid of this....if there are no bookings though, we will go in the first week. We also dont need all the Fantasyland rides because we will be in DL in October...My daughter really only likes the carousel and the Small World anyway.

Anyone know where to get a list of previous hours open such as last March?
