Who's back from the Magic today???

Do you know what time you passed the Statue of Liberty? Anyone with early seating able to confirm if you were able to see this AND make it to dinner on time. I do not want to be late to dinner or skip the MDR, but I really want to see us go by the Statue of Liberty. Trying to figure out if that is going to be possible.

fatima - overall impression was great. Food was great, experience was great. Disney does do it better than other lines.

I did the Dolphim Swim at blue lagoon and I have to say it was the best money I spent on the cruise. It was beautiful there and the swim was awesome.

The kids pool and family pool seemed to be busy always. The adult pool was dead was the first two days due to the winds. I think at one point SeaSpray and I were the only ones in the pool which was like the Typhoon Lagoon wave pool with the rough seas!

Mom and I jumped in the pool on Castaway Cay day at like 4pm and we were the only ones there. Same goes for the kids/family pool.

The pools were very busy the last 2 sea days since the weather and seas were perfect, but there was still room and not like what I've heard about on the Dream.

We did pass the Statue while the first seating was going on or very close to it starting same goes with the verazzano

Thank you!!!! I have a 5 year old and we are booked for the Dolphin Encounter so I am glad to hear about the Dolphin Swim.

On the cruise did you have an opportunity to purchase a mug, like oyu do in the resorts to use for your soft drinks?

You don't have to purchase a mug (soft drinks are included with your cruise) but you can buy a Tervis tumbler onboard for hot or cold drinks or other tumblers with straws from the shops...they are not like the resort mugs.

Darn. I was afraid of that. I think we'll be ready for dinner early and then just watch up until the last minute. We are doing a back 2 back so maybe we'll skip that first dinner on the second cruise. Decisions, decisions.

Next question - Characters? I'm going to submit my daughter's autograph book to be printed tonight....Who did you all see? Want to try not to miss a custom page for as many as possible.

Thanks!

5:30 pm. specifically checked my watch.

I found the Master Chef menu here, along w/ all the others. They are from previous cruises, so I do not know how much they have changed.

ETA: WELL the above link won't work... no idea why... anyway.. if you google search Disney Magic Master Chef menu, you should be able to find the site I tried to link above... if not PM me and I will direct you that way

When ****** comes up it means the link you used is to a banned website on the Dis.

Hi ! Welcome Back, Glad you had a great cruise. Some questions...
1. Was the terminal Disneyfied in any way? Were there characters and/or photographers in the terminal at embarkation?

Yes, Disney banners. Did not see characters. Our arrival was 11:00 am

2.Did you eat at Topsiders on embarkation, was it packed?

Parrot Cay. It was empty. I think when they started calling boarding numbers they were asking for #1 and no one was getting up because most everyone with a #1 was concierge and they were in their own little area. I mentioned to the CM that they were probably no one getting in line because they were all in the concierge area. They then called #2 and we were basically the first people onboard.
3. Did they have the updated horn songs (everyone has been talking about, i.e. NY NY )?

Don't remember!

4. Did the Sailaway party last all the way to the Verrazano? Was is packed?

Sailaway was crowded...Left after the characters came out and we went down to Deck 4....empty with great views of both Lady Liberty and bridge and no crowds.

5. Were the rooms ready on time? Yes

6. You mentioned the specific NYC items for the cruises, were they ever sold out, or did it seem like they had enough?

Seemed to be plenty

7. Did you see alot of little girls in princess dresses at the dinners or around the ship?

Yes

8. Did you order room service, anything interesting, Can you either confirm or deny the availability of Mickey ice cream bars, rice krispie heads...?

Mickey bars were plentiful and rice krispie treats were handed out at the return cruisers party. did not encounter them elsewhere but was not looking.

9. How was the food ikn each of the restaurants?

Very good but I noticed a saltier taste in some of the food than normal. Ankles swelled after 2nd day.

10. MOST important of all...Did you hear ANY of the staff mention anything about what would be happening on the 2 nighter cruises? I am , of course, on the first one and am dying to know about how they will adjust it down from and 8 nighter to give us a valid taste of a Disney cruise....

None...I even asked a few CM's specifically.
.
Thanks in advance for any answers you can provide :thumbsup2
Oh, and all us Disers will be eternally greatful to you if you would be able to post pics of any and everything you can !

As soon as I upload them I will post!

I wasn't on cruise, but mine is coming up so I've been stalking these threads and read two different cruisers who reported there wasn't.

Thank you. I don't cruise until August and each cruise maybe different. Who know, when you cruise, there maybe upgrades. When you return, please report back. I would be interested in seeing those that do and those that don't.

I'm doing back to back - June 17 and 22. I'll try to remember to ask at both.

If you go to the top of the page and click archives in the black bar and then click 5pm-6pm time slot you can see the Magic sail by. She comes in to view at 5:18 and is out of site at 5:25.

From the Disney Cruise site:
Onboard Dining
Question
When is dinner?
Answer
Each night, there is a Main Seating and a Second Seating for dinner.

On the Disney Wonder and the Disney Magic, the Main Seating is at 5:45 p.m.; the Second seating is at 8:15 p.m.

Main dining is not until 5:45 so you should be fine:)

Tisa was the club host. She's a ball of energy.

Other on board cruise staff was DJ Jesse, Frankie, Lara, Kat, Brad, Andy and Brittany...I may be forgetting something though?

Brittany is leaving the Magic to head home for a break after the cruise that sailed yesterday. She and Brad did all the animation classes that they offered on board.

Cool, thanks for the info. Tisa is Club Host, that's cool. I know her from past cruises, so good too hear.
