Who's already planning for 2017 or 2018

Starting to plan for 2+ weeks for June of 2017 and having a hard time deciding on resort and room category.
They are all so pricey. My kids are growing up and we need some more space.
We usually stay Moderate but it definitely felt cramped this past year and with 2+ weeks - what to do , what to do.
Looking at renting DVC points at AKL but wow , even that is pricey.

I would love the Lion King Suite at AoA but staying Value worries me too.

February 2017 for school vacation!!!
Ah, February! I loved our trip in February 2014. That was the real of crazy cold temperatures and lots of snow. It was so nice to have a break from the cold snow and spend the days walking around Disney in t-shirts and jeans. There was only a couple days that were really warm for shorts and swimsuits, but that was fine with us.

We will be going early June as soon as school ends. This will be a big family trip. I will start planning trip after I get back from quick solo trip in April. I would like to stay at AoA but I am wondering if a room discount comes out are these rooms excluded? We usually stay at POP but my kids have asked to stay at new resort.
AoA Little Mermaid rooms have always been excluded from the discounts in the past. But you never know.

Yes! She's super-excited about it now that she's been back; she's started making lists of things she wasn't able to try this past week so we can attempt them next year! We ate at Whispering Canyon this trip and even with all the construction she fell in love with WL, so I think that's where we're booking.

For the big family trip in '18 my youngest (age 6) wants to stay at WL and eat at Whispering Canyon "every day! And we can stay for ten days! Or eleven! OR TWELVE!"

...dream big, kid. Dream big.

Just had to laugh and smile about your statement --" dream big, kid. Dream big." So how long do you think you trip will be. Right now I expect mine to be around five. I would like to extend it to 7 nights, eight days. But we shall see.

Been off the DIS for awhile. My computer is 100 years old and is so crazy slow and my phone just isn't as user friendly of the changes the DIS made and I can barely log in let alone move around. But I am back. Looks like the plan is to go back to WDW in Sept 2018. My brother is going to be turning 40 and wants all of us to spend the big 4-0 with him at Disney. I have been slowly saving but now that we have a date in mind I need to buckle down and really start putting money aside. No plans yet as to where we will stay or exact dates or anything but I am excited to start thinking about an actual trip. :)

I am hoping to go Spring 2017 for F&G, Fall for F&W & MNSSHP, and December for a friend's Bday for her first real trip.

Welcome Back! :yay:I wish I had an actual trip planned. And you have someone who must love Disney as much as you to go on the trip with! Cool! :rainbow: I would love to celebrate a birthday at Disney with friends and family! :bday: trip! Lots of fun!

It is going to be a blast! Hopefully each one can be done with my budget. A shiny new job should help ;) SUPER excited for the upcoming trips and the ones that are still just an idea.

Congratulations on the "shiny new job" that will help pay for your Disney trips!

I know I have the Disney bug like crazy when my niece announced her engagement and said she is thinking about a destination wedding, AND my first thoughts about the destination was how I wish it would be Disney! But I don't it will be Disney. I have a feeling it will be somewhere tropical and somewhere where I will need a passport. So, I might be planning a trip somewhere other than Disney in the next year or so.

The destination will depend on if my family can go or not. But she just got engaged so no set date or plans yet. I am just very happy for the two of them. It would be icing on the cake, wedding cake, if it just happened to involve going to Disney.

Almost the same thing is happening to us! We are planning a trip in September 2017. My son got engaged New Years Eve and are planning a February 2017 Destination Wedding. I also wished they would pick Disney World for the Wedding but hopefully my son and his new wife can join us on the Disney Trip. We will be making the trip shorter.....but we'll just have to plan another trip 2019 or so......that will make me happy!

Funny how we both are anticipating a destination wedding in our near futures. Too bad you will have to shorten the 20217 trip but for a great reason! Congratulations to your son on his engagement. And I like your thinking in that now this just means you will have to plan a return trip in 2019 too!

Still planning our April 2017 trip, but we've decided on a split stay between Disney and Universal. The kids are excited that we are staying at US instead of just visiting it, as they loved US, maybe even a bit more than Disney! Now just to decide how we want to split our time and where to stay at each. For Disney, we were leaning towards Poly, but after some more research and talk, I think it's between AKL and maybe WL. I'm thinking Hard Rock or Royal Pacific for US but I haven't ruled out Portofino Bay. Gotta research a bit more on those. :surfweb:

Has anyone booked room only for February 2017? My school calendar was just released for next year (I'm a teacher) and we are looking at traveling the week of February 27th (after President's and Princess Half Marathon so it should have quieted down). We already have tickets so are not looking for dining.

In addition to my trip this October I'm planning one for next May.:)

2017 is likely to be 7-8 days, while in fact we are thinking mmmmaybe 10 (at most) for 2018. Depends on if we add a Universal day, I think!

I think a split stay between Universal and Disney is in my near future. My DD is constantly asking to go to U since she loves Harry Potter but I cannot imagine a trip without Disney.

Late Feb. should be a great time to go! When I was there in 2014, my trip was during the week prior to and leading into President's Day. It was really nice at the beginning of the trip and then the crowds arrived around Thursday. I am a teacher too. So, are you just planning on a week away or does the time coincide with a break from school. Planning for a sub always takes a lot of time - but it would be worth it if you could swing it and go when the crowds are low.

Eight to ten days would be fantastic!

We have dates for 2018! July 1st-9th! Disneyland!
COOL! I would love to go to Disneyland to see where it all started. The Matterhorn is on my bucket list!

It coincides with my school break. We can of take extended leave during regular school breaks. I think we are going to rent points at BWV. First time staying there. So excited!

How nice for you! It should be a really nice time to go crowd wise and decent weather. I have often thought about renting points. If you do stay at BWV on rented points, come back here and let us know how it works out. Do you plan to do a trip report? If so, post the link here and I can check it out.

That goes for everyone on this thread. Once 2017 and 2018 arrive and people go on their trips, come back here to this thread and post links to TRs! It will keep us all entertained until as we dream of Disney and future trips.
