Sorry I just had to share this, been lurking forever, posted a few times.
Just got my new Canon Rebel XSI !!!! I have been using a Fuji S5200, I am so lost now. So many options I can't beleive it,I am already overwelmed. Any hints or do I just need to read the manual and play around with the camera?

This site is for the older Rebel XT, but the principals you learn can be used on your XSI.

If you do not know the exposure basics, then I suggest starting there. To get the most out of a DSLR, you must know what changing the shutter, aperture, and ISO does. The book "Understanding Exposure" is a board favorite.

Well its all new to me, always had a point and shoot, so I know nothing about a DSLR, I will diffently start there, thanks for the help..

the site mabas posted is a great one as it deals with the camera in specifics but also general photography info ie exposure etc. it recommends you read through it camera in hand but first i would familiarize yourself with your camera by reading through the manual with camera in hand. it helps you to get used to what is where..don't be afraid to use the auto zone till you get familiar with the camera then attack the creative zone since you are new to dslr/slr and of course have fun!
