I had a juicy fight with a co-worker in my office last year (she is longer working here....thank the lord). I was doing some part-time work for one of our clients, a veternarian, paying her bills and keeping her office running smoothly. I would go in some Saturday mornings and at lunch sometimes. The accountant that worked here on her account told me how she wanted me to do the quickbooks i.e., paying bills, posting bills, etc. The doctor wanted me to do it another way so of course I did it her way. WELL, the accountant went balistic over how we went "behind her back" and did it our way. I tried to explain to her that the doctor was the client and we are hired to do our job i.e., fix her mistakes and bring the books up to date. She was screaming at me to do things "her way" like she did everyday with every client.........I lost it!!! The other guy in our office was sitting at his desk with his mouth opened just watching.....(boss was not here). I told her off and also told her how everyone was tired of everything always being her way and how inflexible she was all the time with everything!!!!!!!! I just let her have it.......She picked up her purse and left the office and didn't come in until the next day. She never apologized to me for starting the fight and I never apologized to her for ending it. Eventually the boss got really tired of her attitude and fired her........ :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: I love love love my job again!!!!! I have never had any problems with any co-workers in all my working years...but, sometimes you just have to say somthing. :furious:

Have the cops been called yet?

Anne

In the old days we used to settle differences "out back" by trading punches followed by going for a few beers together and friends again. It worked!

Now one punch mandates firing and grudges are held forever... or until someone goes postal.

I WISH! i worked with people who made the soap operas seem pretty tame when it came to weird relationships-i had one co-worker who carried on a long term affair with her SUPERVISOR'S husband. the co-worker ended up on an episode of 'sally jessie rapheal' gloating about the whole thing. one of the audience members asked if she was'nt afraid it might endanger her job, and the co-worker responded 'are you kidding? i'm union-she can't do s---' (and she was right). i remember several times when someone would get transfered into a new office and that resulted in someone else requesting a transfer out because one or the other was engaged in an affair with the other's spouse or s.o.

we had verbal fights as well as some physical ones that included anything from staplers to a desk being thrown-i think this was why when hiring new public safety officers-9 out of 10 times they selected guys who had previously worked at the local psych ward :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Sally Jessy... OMG!!!!! YOU WIN!!!!!! :cheer2:

My DH has worked at a few places like that. There was the woman who told him she could have some of her friends beat him after work (the woman was a drug addicted nutball) and there was the only fight he's ever been in... a guy bit my DH at which point my DH punched the dude in the face ... btw DH needed to take antibiotics as a precaution because human bites can be really nasty. Some people are just nuts, and acting out at work is seen as perfectly okay..... and around Christmas it gets worse!

Slightly OT, but I have to share anyway.... one of my first jobs out of college was at a company owned by a gay couple. They had started the company and hired many of their friends. It was a great place to work, but talk about soap opera/reality show!! My desk was in an open area next to one end of a hall, on the other end of the hall was the office that the owners shared. One of the owners was a workaholic, very business-minded and professional. The other owner was a party-boy. He would come into the office about once a week to show off/brag about his new "toys" (cars, boats, etc.) and flirt with the employees, both male and female. Every time he came in, there would be a loud fight in their office and often flying objects would sail down the hall. One time a tray of sushi landed on my desk! Another time a chair flew out and almost struck me. Then there were the situations where employees were dating each other, and each other's exes, and each other current s.o.'s... since most of them were from the same social circle it got very interesting!! Our receptionist was a drag queen and was one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen. It was funny seeing new employees figure it out... it often took several weeks before they realized that she was a he. One male coworker would constantly give away gorgeous shoes and dresses that he got tired of - I had a great wardrobe since we were the same size!!

It was the best job I ever had. That place would have made for a terriffic tv show!!

Hmmm, now that I've posted this, if a tv show like that comes out anytime soon I'm going expect my fair share of the profits!!
