I picked 2 because there is no way in "you know where" that I'm spending anouther 4 years in Republican Purgatory.:lmao:

But nice try.

I voted other...I think you should look for a woman in her 50s.;)

Look at it this way:

You know "candidate #1" isn't going to screw up your "business" and will do a good job.

"Candidate #2" — what with all of his unknowns — may well screw things up pretty badly. Is that OK with you?

If you're absolutely OK with your business potentially being destroyed, then by all means, go with the fresh-faced guy. If not, I'd go with the experienced guy.
;) ;)

Looks like guy number 1 is winning the popular vote here at Dis:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

If I had realized what I was "voting for" I would go back and change my "vote".

Silly me, I thought a fellow DISer had a real concern for a Family Owned Business, which is a world of difference from running this country. I've got to stop trying to be helpful to what I think is a genuine question on a real concern.

Thanks OP - now I'll look at every thread with suspicion. Oh - wait that's what the GOP wants. Paranoia......suspicion....distrust. got it.

The White haired Dude...signed, Paris Hilton. ;)

I remember seeing a poll like this years ago, but long story short, the most appealling candidate based on character traits was Adolf Hitler in it.

My point: This poll is pointless.

y'know, if you had at least edited the graphics out of your sig, this could have gone better.

also, the first candidate is known for having temper problems ;)

I just got this. Nice catch.

I still voted for #1.

Your sig gives your purpose away.

It also speaks volumes of you.

In my real world I'd hire the older person who is loyal. Why? Because he's proven himself and his values and mores will not change my life personally. If I knew he came from a family that sends boys off to war to die for nothing... well, then I'd think again.

Poll... USELESS. :surfweb:

Wow. That's very telling.

You know one person is better, but once you find out that he's a (gasp) Republican, you won't choose him?

That says a lot.

I'm voting for the yet unmentioned option C. The smoking hot 25 year old perfect Amer-Asian mix, with the mid-back length wondrously sheeny jet black hair, piercing eyes. Sporting the leather mini, thigh high stiletto boots and a red form fitting top.

If you want further details PM me tomorrow. Thats the image I'm going to fall asleep to.

Running a country is a LOT different then a family buisness. I would also change my vote as I thought I was actually helping a person who ran a family buisness. However, I look at a heck of a lot more when it comes to running a country including how they stand on important issues. Since the old guy and I don't see eye to eye on much of anything then I don't want him in charge of the whole country.

Other issues about Sen. McCain, like his temper and willingness to not work with those who disagree with him, weren't mentioned.

The US is a democracy, not a family business. The views of those who disagree with those in power are to be listened to.

Whoever I hire I'm just glad I'm FIRING the middle aged C student with the goofy look and the powerful Dad who can't say the word "nuclear"... glad to be shipping HIM off to pasture. :thumbsup2

There is a LONG list of items that Sen McCain has proven that he is willing, not only to work with the other side, but also go against his own party.

I don't recall hearing any Obama-McCain bills, or Obama-Sessions, or Obama-Brownback, or Obama-Sununu bills.

Sell that somewhere else, I ain't buyin' it. The American people know who is willing to cross the aisle and work towards unity, and who is just using that as a slogan.

And for his temper - Bill Clinton had (has) a HORRIBLE temper. Was that an issue for you?

I don't have a problem with someone who is not a mamby-pamby, wishy-washy wuss who is afraid to stand his ground. Apparently, the OS find that a good quality.

Perfectly said! :thumbsup2

Gee, I never thought I would have started such a fire storm about this poll.

I don't know if I can answer all of the replies. But why would this poll be pointless? Just trying to make the point that most people would take experience over unexperience. That was the most mentioned thing about the two people in question.

I don't think this poll was pointless. it proved a point. It also proved a point that people took #1 over 2, but then only were ready to take that vote back when they realized that #1 would have been a republican. to me that is like saying you like pepsi over coke, yet you take a taste test and pick the coke over pepsi, and then go back and say you like pepsi better. :confused3

I didn't make this post to try to sway or trick people. I did it to make a point. It is something that people prejudged me also because of the pics on my sig. I do own a family business though so that part is not a lie.

And I don't see how running a family business is any different from running a country. However, if I ran my business how my state runs itself...I would be in debt and out of business in a matter of days.

If you've noticed, the ones who are saying the poll is pointless are the ones voting for Obama.

I don't understand the people who have said now that they know what the OP was getting at they want to change their vote. Why is it ok to pick the most qualified if it's your family business but not ok to pick the most qualified to run the country? :confused3

If not a family business, how but a publicly traded company? Shareholders vote as in a democracy. They vote for their leadership.

Wow, that's a pretty overwhelming majority for guy #1. I chose him because he's already proven that he is exactly what you're looking for. When the time comes for him to retire, what better person to have around to help hire and train his replacement?
