My DD is on a Junior level 5 and Sr Coed Sm level 5. She's a HS frosh & cheers for JV Football & Basketball also. Our competitions haven't been etched in stone yet, just know one is usually in Florida (the rest I think they throw an atlas in the air & go to whichever state it opens to)
Your DD does both competitive and HS cheer? What state are you in? In IL, where I live, kids have to chose one or the other. If the HS team competes in addition to cheering at games, the cheerleaders are prohibited from participating in an All Star program. This is because the IHSA, our high school sport governing body, has deemed cheerleading a sport. In IL you can't participate in a HS sport and be on a club team -- in any sport.
I guess the idea is to level the playing field; but, in the long run I think it hurts the HS teams. I know most of the girls on DD's senior squad didn't even consider trying out for HS 'cause they didn't want to quit competitive cheer.
