Who Wants To Try a DIS-Meet At Gulf State Park In May-June 2016?

Well I hate to say it but I deserved a little break. Friday I cleaned the front yard. Cleared about 400 lbs of leaves. Then Saturday I cleaned out most of the garage. I can now turn my motorcycle around in there again. We enjoyed the ferry ride and seeing the Eaglets. Dinner was good at Lulu's. The ride home was a little cold. Should have carried the better gear. As far as being foot loose and fancy free. That's a temporary thing. I will return to work soon. Just waiting on the right job that won't interfere with Disney and my 32 other interests.

:lmao:Michael aka Tiggerdad aka Fire & Rain, made the mistake and gave me his wife's cell phone because apparently he got in a little trouble with a comment he made....

Don't worry. I'm devising a plan so all us guys can sneak off to the Flor Bama one night in June.

The story I got was he dropped his phone in some water, the last phone he dropped in a fire or something, his wife is giving all the good gossip on our Ol buddy Tiggerdad. So I guess he's non communicado for a while, or til every one goes to sleep and he can sneak online.

Randy, we will pay very hand$omely to know what you know....

Speaking of "knowing", I "know" where my DW keeps my lunch money. It just MIGHT be enough....

Bama Ed

PS - plus I can vouch that no fun has ever been had at the Flora-Bama. They just like to throw dead fish as far as they can - I seen it. That's what they're famous for.

I'm late to the game on this one, but it sounds like a fun story we are in for.

If you need more funds to get the full story, I'll help sell off Tiggerdads truck when we all get to GSP.

BTW- 3 months from now and most of us will be sitting on the beach discussing the time when Tigerdad lost his phone... again.

I'll not going to spill the beans on anything just yet, Tiggerdad is supposed to pay for everyones campsites, I don't wanna chance that any.

bama_ed what did you think of Gulf Breeze.

It was okay. Cheap, nice bathrooms, spots are a little close together. Lots of pull throughs.

Did you find a site this past Sunday for your spring-summer-fall seasonal stay? Can you reserve a specific site long term or do you have to just take whatever is available the day you check in? Guess you are somewhere on the Eastern Shore to be able to get to Gulf Shores in 30 minutes.

Hey Randy, this weekend when we are camping why don't you ask my wife about her cell phone history. In the 16 years of marriage, I have owned 4 cell phones. She has owned 6. Only two of mine have met with tragic endings and hard life she describes. The LG flip phone "Fire" was lost while we were fighting a house fire with the fire dept back in 2003. Then my poor Galaxy 3 "Water" met a tragic drowning end in the lake behind the house while I was cutting up a tree that had blown down on the pond dam. Had that one near 5 years. Lost all the numbers and all info. Folks at the AT&T store were unable to recover the contacts or information from the phone, card, or the GMail account. (figures)

Anyway, she has already been given clearance to come home this July and just work part-time from the house. (She practically was a single mom while I was working on my master's degree so this was my gift to her) I reminded her of this after reading the above "money for intel" comments. I wouldn't trust any information that you may receive. Besides, you people know I'm crazier than a run-over-dog in the street...you gonna trust somebody who would marry a loon like me?

@BDK33 , welcome to the camping forum. Why don't you tell us a little about yourself. Don't be shy, not everybody here is as crazy as we are on this particular thread. (Some of them are worse). Apparently I'm renting out half of Gulf State Park in May/June, so I'm sure I can secure you a site. Perhaps site 4, 70, or 73 would be nice? Let me know.

Got my package in the mail from ETrailer today with my brake assembly in it so I'll get up here later in the morning and begin putting everything back together and get the girl ready to camp this weekend.

tiggerdad, I understand completely. Also I have learned the hard way to ALWAYS buy replacement insurance for DW's cell phone. It comes out cheaper for me in the long run...

Bama Ed

PS - don't be givin' away my site #4. I went past it this last weekend and mentally positioned my Aliner and EZ up awning on the site and where my folding chairs will be to watch the sun come up every morning across the lake...

Hey I just realized that I'm in site 73!

I don't have room to talk, I've lost or broke my share of phones. My wife is still rocking the 2 Gen iPhone, we're going tomorrow to upgrade her phone, I'm hoping she gets away apples and goes with Samsung (oranges).

Oh Tiggerdad, TRAILER BRAKES TRAILER BRAKES!!

I live in Spanish Fort, so we go down to the beach often. I did find the site I want #116. You can't reserve a specific site so I'll take my camper down and put it in the Gulf Breeze storage area next weekend. When the snowbirds leave my site on April 25, I'll call the office and have them move it to my site. It is a little cramped but we have good time all summer. Most people have a golf cart, we ride around visiting, similar to looping at the fort.

I'm sure I went past 116. And I was mistaken - no pull throughs just back ins but back-to-back. I saw the storage lot up on the hill as I was leaving Sunday morning to throw my trash in the dumpster. That is a HUGE storage lot. That's convenient that they will move it to the site for you.

Brake assembly is reassembled and done. So I checked the other brake drums as well and this is what I found:

Tire #1: Dexter Nev-R-Adjust brakes, bit loose. Tightened the brakes up just a little
Tire #2: Dexter Nev-R-Adjust brakes, coated in axle grease and rear seal blown. Replaced and done.
Tire #3: Dexter Nev-R-Adjust brakes, bit loose also. Tightened up and good to go
Tire #4: Dexter.........standard electric brake?? Not a Nev-R-Adjust?? How the crap do 3 tires have Nev-R-Adjust brakes and one has standard manually adjusted brakes?

Makes no sense at all.

Oh well, brakes are all adjusted, tires aired up. Antifreeze is flushed and washing all the bed linens now. Should have her packed up and ready to go tomorrow for our season opening trip to Demopolis.

That's outstanding RV quality control you're looking at.

Now before anyone corrects me, I realize "RV quality control" doesn't really belong strung together like that, but...
