another night at AKL, ha!) so we will eat at 'Ohana at 8:30 on Fri. Dec. 3rd.
Have you ever done the Pirates Wishes Cruise? Have it booked but I'm
wondering if it's worth the $$

Awesome!! You'll definitely have to say hi! Are you flying out of DFW or Oklahoma? What is CL & sunrise safari? We're doing the Wanyama Safari & eating at Jiko... I'm lazy & hate to move from one hotel to another, with 2 girls in tow, it takes too long to pack and unpack! My hubby gets mad *** I never want to do it! :chat:

The sleigh ride is at Ft. Wilderness, $60 for our family, since we are going to the Hoop De Doo at 9:30 I want to try it at 7PM after we go to Universal!! I've read people on this board say that it is really cool and unique because you see a lot of Christmas decor in FW... Sounds like something special to do once anyway! :santa:

Do a search on here for sleigh ride, there are a lot of posts... This one caught my eye in particular...
We did it at Christmas time and it was amazing....All the campsites were decorated for Christmas and it was just so beautiful. Totally worth the money. I would definitely do it again...

We're having breakfast on the 8th. It's such a fun character meal!!!

My littlest (the one who's more interested in pirates) wasn't old enough until our last trip, but my cousin was too young, and he didn't want to do it without her. I've heard good things, though. A friend of ours showed us her PhotoPass pics from it, and it looked like the kids had a blast!

We have Ohana Character breakfast for our August trip, but for our November trip we've got Chef Mickey for Thanksgiving dinner!

We have been, but its been 5 years. I am not even sure that Lilo & Stitch were the featured characters then. I just remember Mickey, Chip & Dale and Goofy in luau clothes.

To those who have also visited WDW during past Novembers / Decembers: If you have an opinion about this, I'd love to hear it.

As I mentioned upthread, we're planning a late Nov / early Dec trip. We have booked on-property rooms for half the trip (using the 25/30/40 PIN) and off-property for the other half. We'll have 2 adults, one (17yo) child in the room. :cool1:

My question is: Should we keep trying to find better / lower on-property rates?

I have seen some INCREDIBLE on-property rates for August / September through Orbitz and Travelocity (like $58 at Values and even $150/night for GF!) but I know that it's hurricane season and therefore we may not be able to find the same low rates for our dates.

Based on folks who have travelled during the end of the year last year, what do you think? Will we see any similar crazy discounts on Orbitz, etc. for Nov / Dec of this year?

Here are our current rates for 3 people (each of these reflect taxes and fees):

  • 11/20 - 11/25 - POR standard room at around $140 / night
  • 11/26 - 12/1 - Marriott time share (2-bedroom condo) for $630 for the WEEK
  • 12/2 - 12/4 - CR Garden Wing / Garden View room for $225/night

So what do you think? Should I keep obsessively watching :scared: all the travel sites to see if I can beat those on-property rates with another on-property resort?

Thoughts? (I also created a thread about this on the "discounts and codes" boards, but I'm new to the Dis and not sure what is the appropriate forum to ask this...)

Gee... I had no idea that you could even find Disney properties on Travelocity or Orbitz. Does this include tickets or do you have AP's? Seems like you've got a really good rate. I"m not sure you're gonna beat that. The $140 at the POR seems particularly good. I'd relax and know you've done well.

Awesome!! You'll definitely have to say hi! Are you flying out of DFW or Oklahoma? What is CL & sunrise safari? We're doing the Wanyama Safari & eating at Jiko... I'll have to see if we can get the sleigh ride, maybe after 1900 Park Fare or
O'Hana, if it's not too far of a drive or maybe we could take the boat??
Hoop De Doo and a Sleigh ride, that sounds like a great winter evening!!

CL is Club Level at Animal Kingdom, apparently that is the only way you can
go on the sunrise safari, from what I've read, it's a tour of the kilimanjaro safari at AK before it opens, you get to stop take pictures, etc. and then a
buffet breakfast at AK. Just trying to decide if it's worth it. I'll bet the
Wanyama Safari will be amazing and dinner at Jiko, too!

Sorry i have not been around alot. ive been so busy with trying to study for my securities license and making baby blankets i cant even think straight! and to boot the doctor just told me he thinks i need to do a sleep study :/
