Still to excited to sleep

The whole audience plays fastest finger (there are key pads right in front of your seat) and the person who is fastest gets selected to play for real. It feels like you're playing the real game. Prizes are according to what dollar ranges you get up to and include pins, shirts, hats, etc. with the grand prize of a disney cruise vacation. That's all I can remember as i've only been once but it's definitely something cool to check out (and a nice break from the heat if you go in the summertime).

We love it and do it twice each year. You also answer the questions in the audience and the person with the highest score goes into the hot seat after the person who won the fastest finger gets knocked out. There is a score board that they show who is the highest that comes up every once in a while. Just when they were clearing the studio completely to bring in a new audience they lit up the board and I was #1. But because it was the end of this round we had to go - they almost had to drag me out kicking and screaming!!! It is great fun. I've never made it to the top of the board again though. One time we went the guy in the hot seat was at the "cruise" question and he still had a lifeline. You could have heard a pin drop. We were all on the edges of our seats - just wishing for this guy to win. Well he didn't win - got the answer wrong - and everyone was so disappointed. It would have been great to see someone win!

Was there Feb.9 and it was just like the show. My kids 8,5 and 3 1/2 and they all thought it was fun and exciting

It is a great attraction. You can get on the hot seat either by fastest finger question or by playing along with the player on the hot seat. You have to be fast.

I was fortunate enough to appear on the real show back in 2001 (Regis was still hosting) and was curious how easy/hard it was to do the fastest finger with the keypad. In the Ring of Fire (the 10 contestants on the tv version), there was an LCD that showed what you pushed, but it was A) hard to see what you put in; and B) very difficult to actually get the pad to register that you pushed something (you had to push, let go, push the next one, let go, etc...). Once you had your 4 guesses in, you then had to press an "OK" button. Are they similar to that?

It drove me crazy...DW and I were down at Mouseworld for the first time ever when I made the final qualifying round to get on the show. The WWTBAM attraction in MGM was still a couple of weeks away from opening when we were down there, but I wanted to practice SOOOO bad! :teeth: I've always been curious how the pads matched up with the real ones and haven't had a chance to get back down there yet (though I'm currently trying to convince DW to head down in mid-December this year).

Thanks,

Chris

It sounds like the pads are very different. You just push the buttons and for the fastest finger question, you can not tell what order the computer registered your guess. Sometimes the computer does not register that you pushed a button and so you look down and see that your answer was not complete.

For the regular round where you play along with the hot seat contestant, the computer will accept an answer when the third answer is revealed. You have to push the button repeatedly to make sure that the computer has accepted your answer. That is why teenagers who have played video games have an advantage at times.

You really need to try the attraction. It is a great deal of fun.

Our family plays this game many many times each trip...we are highly addicted..All 6 of us have made it into the hot seat...usually we have averaged 4 ppl per trip. My youngest dd made it into the hot seat on a fastest finger question when she was 6....

We can't wait to play in 30 days...YIPPEEEE

I've made it into the hotseat twice. The first time I got to 32K points and then psyched myself out and took an audience answer that was incorrect. The second time I got to 250K when I got out. I was kicking myself for days for not knowing the answer. The cool part was that when I got to the 250K level I was a mini-celebrity around the parks for the next two days. People would walk up to me or yell out things like "Third time's a charm!" "You'll get em next time!" etc. My husband was impressed more with that than with getting that far.

I've tried four times since then and can't seem to get back into the hotseat. The two times I got in was during the second round when you answer along with the contestant and was at the top of the scoreboard. The four times I've tried since then didn't take a second person because the host there at the time talked a lot and took up a lot of extra time. It's been the same guy for the last four times but I'm going again this weekend so I'll get to try again.

I just can't do that fastest finger question fast enough! Kids beat me!

I'm also addicted to Millionaire. I actually made it into the hotseat a couple years ago, and I've been hooked on the game ever since. I lost at the 64,000 point question, but it was a great experience. I had people coming up to me for the rest of the day telling me that they were cheering for me at Millionaire. The Millionaire experience is probably the best of all my Disney memories to date. The only thing that would be better would be making it into the hotseat again and winning the cruise. Here's to wishing...

I made it to the hot seat last Friday (the 12:20 show). The fastest finger winner was an 11 year old who pushed random buttons. He made it to 8000 and quit. I was #1 in the audience when he quit. I was really nervous, but at the same time very focused on the questions. I made it to 125K. The 250K question was about astrology. I had no clue. I used my two remaining lifelines (ask the audience and phone a complete stranger) then walked. I had used my 50/50 on what looked like an easy question, but it was for 32K and I wanted to make sure I got at least to that level. I'm glad I didn't have the 50/50 left to use because I still would have picked the wrong answer. It was a ton of fun and I can't wait to try again. :)

My DD (13) made it onto the hot seat the last time we were there. I can't remember off the top of my head how far she got, but she won a hat, a bunch of pins and a lanyard. She had a great time, it was very cool. :)

This attraction is like crack. The minute you make "the big board" you've gotta keep going and trying again and again and again. When you finally get to the seat, even if you get to the million point question, you just can't stop going and trying again. Maybe if you win the cruise you can stop, but until then...

On our last trip, there were so many "regulars" (as the cast called them) that the 2nd or 3rd person on the board was getting into the seat. Cool that those 2nd and 3rd place people got to play, lame that the "regulars" kinda take the wind out of people's sails.

Like illicit substances, I tell ya... :hippie:

I really don't see the point in playing if you are not eligible for the hot seat. We had planned to see/play back to back shows, but ater I got in the hot seat the first time I didn't have any reason to play the second time.

I made it to the hotseat once. It is all a blur. I was so nervous. I was there with my daughter's high school band and no one I knew was in the audience. Of course the host made a joke about that. My husband and I split up because he wanted to do the Indiana Jones (strangely enough, he was picked to participate in that while I was at Millionaire). I didn't go far because I trusted the audience on a question about bamboo, but I did get the cap, lanyard and pins. We love that attraction and will probably be going several times when we are there in May.

We all enjoyed this attraction but none of us have ever made it into the hotseat although DD's score is usually one of the top ones so I think she'll get there eventually. I don't even try, though, because I hate being the center of attention and would absolutely freak out if I got up there! :scared: :rotfl2: It sounds like so much fun though and I wish I weren't such a wimp!

Hey!! We were there for that show. Brian - the 11 year old, did pretty good. And your wife is the weather nut, right?

When they showed the scores for the final time, I was in 6th place. Couldn't believe it. I'd actually only missed one question. (Sorry...I did get the astrology one correct.) My husband was so excited and wished we'd done it earlier in the week so we could play a few more times. He was trying to figure out how we could squeeze in another visit or two to MGM in order for us to play again.

I love this attraction.

DH and I played in 2004 when we were there. We went a couple times and we were in the top 10 once or twice. Well, we played again and I was suprised to see him in #3, it wasn't until he told me that I realized I was #1. I got to 125,000. I had a wonderful phone a complete stranger who knew the answer (something about fishing) which I knew nothing about. We had some time to kill the next day, so we went back just for fun. I was #1 again and had to decline (30 day rule) but DH was #2 so he got to be in the hot seat--that worked out well. Unfortunately, he ansered the 300 point question without thinking about it and missed. We had a great time. I wish they still had this at Disneyland.

What are the guidelines for making it to the hot seat??? We were there on Wed, Jan 18, and the man who made it to the hotseat mentioned that he's made it to the hotseat 31 times, and 7 times to the million dollar answer....He DID make it to the million dollar question this time too, but answered wrong...

Some people, including my son, were a bit upset that he was able to get to the hot seat so many times....Anyone know what the rules are????

I still had a great time...love this attraction....
