There is a song DH and I like a lot. I want to download it but don't have any info.

It is about a couple that gets up one day and leaves their kids. "Their children woke up, and they couldn't find them."

The couple drives off, car breaks down, but their sudden independence makes them so blissful that they just don't care and are pleased as punch to walk.

There are lines about how it will always be summer and they won't get old.

OF COURSE we would never, ever leave our kids. It is just a fun fantasy thing. :)

It's called "The Way" and it's by Fastball. I believe it came out around 1998, cause I remember driving around to it during the summer after I graduated high school. Hope that helps!! :)

Think it's called "The Way", if we are talking about the same song. Let me do a little research and see what I can find for you.

Don't know, but I heard it was written after the artist/band saw a news article about this couple that went missing, similar to how it's described in the song. They were later found to have run off the road and crashed into a ravine, killing them both. That's what I heard, don't know how true it is.

Yep, it's The Way by Fastball. That whole Fastball album is actually really great.

That is a good song. I used to listen to the whole CD quite a bit. :)

I Bet you can find it on iTunes.

some lyrics site said:
They made up their minds
And they started packing
They left before the sun came up that day
An exit to eternal summer slacking
But where were they going
Without ever knowing the way?
They drank up the wine
And they got to talking
They now had more important things to sayAnd when the car broke down
They started walking
Where were they going without ever knowing the way?

Anyone could see
The road that they walk on is paved in gold
And it's always summer, they'll never get cold
They'll never get hungry
They'll never get old and gray
You can see their shadows
Wandering off somewhere
They won't make it home
But they really don't care
They wanted the highway
They're happy there today , today

The children woke up
And they couldn't find 'em
They Left before the sun came up that day
They just drove off
And left it all behind 'em
But where were they going without ever knowing the way?

CHORUS
CHORUS

"An exit to eternal summer slacking..."

I love that line. :) :sunny:

I thought it was about an old couple (like way old) who got lost and their (adult) children were looking for them, but they died before they were found.

I like your interpretation better. :thumbsup2

I don't know what they're actually singing about. Could be Jim and Tammy Baker for all I know. I like the literal interpretation.

"They just drove off and left it all behind them..." That's my "Calgon, take me away," thought. :goodvibes
