I've just heard everyone say how much they love it. This is the one ride that I'm not sure if I can handle. After watching the special last night on Discovery, I really want to try. I'm just afraid of getting sick.

Hi, Madi100!

We rode it the first part of December. I had listened to what other people had said and had taken anti-nausea medication, had an empty stomach and did it at the end of the day when my park time wouldn't be ruined if I got sick. The ride was absolutely incredible and I am NOT sorry that I went on it(smile).

Unfortunately, it made me so nauseated and woozy that we had to go back to our resort and I was sick for several hours after. My spouse (who had worried about getting sick) had no problem at all and will ride it again. I'm glad I did it the one time, but I won't be trying it again(smile).

Went on MS in early December and I loved it but DW did not.Did not get sick but stomach was a little upset for about 10 minutes after she got off MS.::yes:: :wave2: ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :sunny:

I went on it, didn't get sick but did get a little woozy because of forces. I really wasn't that impressed by the ride, maybe there was too much hype and media blitz. I think my daughter liked it though, she is 7. It is in no way scary at all!

Did this last August. The g forces really got to me and I had my first ever panic attack. Cold sweats, dizzy etc. I looked straight ahead and did everything they recommend. I do not have this problem on any other ride at WDW. To be honest I don't even remember from after the lift off until I was standing in front of the World of Energy. I asked my kids about finding the gift shop for MissionSpace and they told me I had walked right through it in a daze. Head and stomach were not right for about an hour after. I will not ride again because I don't want to lose time I could be enjoying Epcot recovering from this ride. Just my experience.

Last month, when we stood at the exit, about 40 people.

I usually do very well and all rides so I didn't figure I'd have any trouble with M:S -- WRONG!!! I felt off for the rest of the day after I rode. My DD (7) rode 2x with no problem and my DH rode 1x without a problem. I've decided that I'll try it one more time on our next trip, but if it still makes me sick, my days of travelling to Mars will be over.

We went over to do it last month and there were people all over the place on the ground with wet cloths on thier heads and looking not so good. We too decided not to risk it as DS get sick very easy. Kind of regret not doing it but it looked like it was hitting a lot of people hard.

I personally did not like it due to the fact that it is just a lame ride and too short. I was totally dissappointed and now refer to it as "Mission:Hype".

I think the problem with so many people getting sick is not the ride but that they are so worked up before hand due to what has been said and/or written.

I just rode MS for the first time this past week. I was really not impressed with the ride. I kept waiting for the 'Thrill' like on Rock 'n Roller coaster and Tower of Terror. If never came! As for getting sick, I don't have a problem with that but while I was on the Backstage Magic Tour, James, our tour director said that it is very important to look straight at the screen and NEVER close your eyes. He said if everyone would do that, they wouldn't get sick.

We go to WDW every Sept...now my first worry with MS was "would it open on time or would it be another TT"...then it opened on time and I was relieved but then began reading all the reports of people getting sick..this was a HUGE concern for me, as I can't go on Motion Simulators or things like the tea cups....it just throws me off and gives me that kind of throat/head nasuea (you can only know what I mean if you have experienced this) anyway I then read about the over the counter drug Bonnine (spelling?) and thought I would try that and had read what everyone said about just looking straight ahead and not taking your eyes of the screen...so I popped my pills and we went on (walked on no wait, gotta love Sept crowds) anyway after all the hype, pills and worry for the very first time at WDW I was dissapointed beyond belief (just my opinion and we all are entitled to one) it was so boring and unexciting, I would have rather gone on those boring boat rides at AK that only lasted about 2 mons LOL...plus the pills made me very tired..but if you follow the stare ahead rules they say it works...FYI I saw no one sick but crowds were very low that day.

:( i had really looked forward to this ride. dd (23) was a little nervous about it since she doesn't like spinning and will go on star tours but doesn't love it. i was worried about bodywars on a previous trip and never had a problem at all, so assumed i'd be fine. wrong:eek: we both had had a light breakfast and went on MS early in am. we both knew to stare straight ahead and not close our eyes, but we both felt awful by the halfway point, we were glad it was a short ride LOL. we had to go find a drink to sip at after this ride, and i am sorry to say neither one of us will try again anytime soon:( however, by an hour after the ride we were fine again:D

I had my first ever panic attack too! Generally, I love thrill rides. The problem with Mission Space is that for many people, the benefits don't outway the negatives. Tower of Terror & Rockin Roller Coaster are a little scary, but exhilarating at the same time. As shown on the Discovery Channel special, the individuals getting off MS did not have the same happy faces as when exiting the other thrill rides. MS is not worth losing a day at Disney World.::MinnieMo

We rode it in September and that will be my one and only trip on Mission..thank you very much.....:( My DH rode it once and said it was not that bad, I chickened out first time as I cannot deal with spinning rides or being turned upside down. Bad move, decided to give it a try. I have never come so close to tossing my cookies as I did on that ride, but luckily breakfast stayed down. After getting off I had to get a drink to settle my stomach and it took hours to feel right again..but I gave it a shot. Everyone should try it once to form their own opinion I feel..for me it is just ONCE!!!

for the responses, as I think I will skip this ride again, when I go in 26 days!;)

What can I say about it? Enjoyed it but wouldn't rush back on it!I've done the "Montu" 5 times back to back but MS just didn't work for me,I was the same with the virtual roller coaster at DQuest so maybe that I've got to be moving!

I think I'll be skipping this ride too - I have friends who have never had problems with rides who had problems with M:S.
I love roller coasters & dislike spinning, so I'm afraid I will not be traveling to Mars anytime soon.....

Actually the four of us,went on it, and there were no ill effects.

My five year old loved it and said as the G forces were going on "I'm a magnet!"

My then 8 year old thought it was cool.

The first time we all rode it my legs felt a little shaky, but we went to eat after that, so it wasn't bad... (maybe I was just hungry!)

Its actually a fairly boring ride after the initial launch....

I did ride it two times in a row once and I got a small slight headache after the second one.. (but then I get small slight headaches after riding some coasters)

Its a lot of hype for really not much.

We rode MS in late June of last year (during technical rehersals) and suffered no ill effects. Even my 71yo MIL loved the ride. She's looking forward to our trip in June/July 2004 so that she can ride it again. My DD Sarah who suffers from motion sickness on long car rides also is looking forward to another trip to Mars.

I think that the media and internet have instilled a lot of FUD about this ride. (FUD = Fear, Uncertainly, Doubt)

If you tell enough people that they WILL get sick and that the ride WILL ruin the rest of their day, it will end up having that effect. I liken it to a trip to the dentist. I've experienced pain in the dentist's chair, so I anticipate that every trip there will result in my feeling that same pain. Even if all I'm doing is going in to have my teeth cleaned. I get so worked up that the slightest discomfort makes me go pallid white with fear. I think that the same thing is happening to people who haven't tried Mission Space. They are so conviced that the ride will make them sick that they work themselves into a panic.

You have two choices. Ride it. Or don't. But for the sake of those who haven't yet experienced the ride, please don't comment on the actual ride until you've tried it yourself.

My husband rode it with our two older sons while I waited with our 3 year old and a baby swap pass. As they were on the ride, I asked the cast members in the gift store about the ride and oddly enough, not one of them had ridden the ride -- too scared of it.

When my husband came off the ride, he was horribly pale and sweaty and continued to feel miserable so much that he left Epcot to go back to the room and rest. Our sons, however, were fine but don't want to ride again. My husband was so grateful that our Candlelight Processional reservations were with Robby Benson rather than Gary Sinese ( the narrator of Mission Space) because he wasn't sure if he could handle hearing his voice so soon.
