Who remembers the #1 songs of 1975?

i remember all of them, lol! what a 'blast from the past'!

and, i remember teaching my brother and sister (ages 7 & 9 at the time) how to do the hustle, lol! wish i could remember it now!

I really was born at the wrong time. I graduated from high school in 1975 and with the exception of the Linda Ronstadt song, those songs are just AWFUL! YUCK, YUCK, YUCK! That decade could be forgotten musically as far as I'm concerned, LOL! (well, except for Led Zeppelin)

I remember some on the list but not these as it's possible they were not major hits in the UK!...

B.J. Thomas - (Hey Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song (April 26, 1975 - 1 week)

America - Sister Golden Hair (June 14, 1975 - 1 week)

I love those old AM songs, as well as the FM songs of the day...I remember old music so much more than old TV.
I HATE that "Fly Robin Fly" song though. Just another thing to tease me with!!! Why are there so many "Robin" songs!!
Robin M.

Leisure suits! Oh, no! Don't go there! LOLOLOLOL!

That was memory lane all right. I had an even older memory lane trip tonight. Took DS to K-mart with me. He found a toy...a hamster in a "leather jacket" with a steering wheel in his paws. You squeeze his foot and what do you hear? Born to be Wild! Yes, Steppenwolf! LOLOLOL! I must have been in about 2nd grade when that was out. My sister listened to Steppenwolf all the time.

Every single one :) Yep, AM too!

THanks for the stroll back to my high school years....

AHHHHH 1975 what a year, I remember all of those. Turned 16 the summer of 75, worked at an ice cream stand, Brings back a lot of long hot summer days at the swimming pool with the music blasting over the loud speakers. I too graduated in 1977 and I have a son that was born in 1987:)

I remember every single one of them. I, too graduated HS in 1975 so these were the songs out for my senior year in HS and the beginning of my freshman year in college.

Before I opened the thread I said to myself, this week in '75 would have been Sister Golden Hair. I was only off by about a week!

Although there are many songs there I wasn't that crazy about, what I like seeing is the diversity that existed in popular music at the time. Here you have all #1 hits and the artists are pop, rock, r&b, funk, disco and country. It was a period where all genres were popular across the board. Music today is very fragmented. Sad to see.

I remember all of them as well. Our only form of entertainment back then was cruisin' with the radio on!!!

I can remember all but Fire and Let's Do It Again. Of course I know that if I actually heard them I would say..."Oh that song, I remember it" I graduated in 1976...those songs brought back great memories.

I was a freshman/sophomore in college and remember most of them. What strikes me is how obvious that it was a transition time between traditional rock and disco and how bad some of the songs were. It's amazing to think of some of these songs getting any air time much less hitting #1.

Another 1977 grad here..I remember all those songs and had a lot of them as 45's...I remember that summer listening to them on AM radio WRKO in Boston with Dale Dorman. I can't believe he's still on the radio!

Thanks for the memories!

I never thought about that.

Now all the "number ones" sound the same, IMHO.
