Who plans your trips?

I plan everything for my family. I have also done planning for other families (i.e., booking flights, hotels, rental cars, limos, dinners, etc.) that I was not traveling with. The people at my company all come to see me when they decide to visit Orlando.
I guess I should have been a travel agent. At least then I would make some money doing this :rotfl: .

My DH would rather sit on a beach. I prefer a more "active" (that is, Disney) vacation. We alternate years, but I do all the planning for both.

I always plan the entire trip for us - my husband thinks it's hilarious that I am so crazy about Disney World. When we were planning our honeymoon (in 1993) I wanted to go to a beach resort on the California coast, but he fought for Disney World because I had never been there before. Boy I'll bet he's kicking himself in the pants now.....:rotfl2:

We have 3 awesome kids (11, 7 & 3) and I've made them all Disney Nutso - just like me!

We go every other year, and he truly loves it too. He's just not as OBSESSED with the planning, as I clearly am. I always try and plan something special for him to do with our oldest son (they are the daredevils) -they did the TL surfing in April & loved it!

We've all gotten a say in different things but I'm the one paying <g> so I get the final word. We looked at the resort information together but I decided where we were staying. I've made the schedule as far as what parks on which day but we're going to sit down and each of us will pick 3 must dos for each park, we'll do them first then do other things. We've talked about restaurants and I made the choices but made them based on what I think the kids and I would all like and even gave up a meal with Eyeore because my son really wanted to eat at LTT and my dd really wanted to eat in the castle although she doesn't know she is going to be eating there on her birthday. We'll choose the counter service places when we're there with the caveat that we're not going to eat at the American pavillion in Epcot, we have to try things from other countries. When we're there the kids will have a lot of say in what we do in each park but I'm doing most of the heavy duty planning.

I plan everything, the days, where we eat, what we do, where we go, what we wear even! My husband just need me to tell him where, when, what and how! I even plan what everyone wears for the day! talk about a controling freak ha ha

SkipperBubba pirate: and I :maleficen tend to co-plan. It's funny, because neither one of us is particularly "Type A", but when it comes to WDW, we both just really get into it.

I do all the planning. This year DS gave alot of imput, most of which was good. I let him choose the resort, WL. DH and I are happy with that. But other then that I have done everything. DH doesnt even know what time the parks open, so I leave very little up to him.

I always do the planning and paying. I let them choose if the would like to go to WDW or do the DCL. Last year is was DCL for my daughter 16th birthday, this year it's a WDW trip with my parents, sister and niece. I will give them 3 resort to choose from. I also like to book my vacations wayyyyy in advance.

We are doing WDW December 06 staying at the WL and then in Nov 08 we are doing the DCL for my sons 16th birthday. I'm already counting the days till Dec 06. It's our first Christmas at WDW

I am the planner. I have it all mapped out as far as what park to do on which days, when to hop, where to eat, ADR's are in place, MyPoints cashed in for RFC and Gas cards, Disney Dollars saved, free samples coming for the travel bags, and more. By the time we leave, I will have it all printed out. It's all set. I can't wait! Just 10 weeks from tonight, I will be going over the packing list for the umteenth time and not sleeping well because we will be heading off the next morning for Ocala, FL. I will be meeting Gabby's Grandmother for the first time. After 6 years of being together, she wants to meet me. I don't know if this is a good thing or not.....maybe I can wait. lol Maggie

I am definately the planner. Since our DD's are older they tend to give some input. They will usually give suggestions and ask what I know about it because they know I am always on the computer. DH on the other hand just tends to go along for the ride. But I make all the ADR's and get tickets for everyone. :flower:

The only question DH asks is "which week do I need off" ;)

I do all the planning and Dh likes it that way.

I planned for 14 of us last April and my Sister was telling me that my DBIL was bragging to his family how great our vacation was thanks to my planning

That is exactly what DH asks me too. I do almost all the planning for our trip. He does put in his 2 cents when I ask him questions about it though, especially when it deals with where we will be eating.

I too am obsessed about planning my vacation. Hubby could care less. Just let him know when where and how much.. :rotfl2: ;) :earboy2:

I do all the planning for our Disney trips and then let my husband know when he needs to take off the time for work. He is perfectly happy to let me handle it all and I would not have it any other way. He does throw in a few suggestions from time to time but over all it is me that does all of the research. I find it a thing of power that I am superior over him in my knowledge of the World! :cool1:

I am doing all the planning not only for WDW but also for the other 3 weeks we will be holidaying in other parts of US of A. :)
My DH has contributed by asking if he can go to a basketball match :cheer2: (I have arranged that for while we are in N.Y.) and could he see some Gators while we are in Orlando. I have read that they can be occasionaly spotted around WDW, so perhaps guest services could arrange for one to swim by WL one day.

I do all the planning (I'm kind of anal about it). Even when I ask my DH what he thinks he tells me to do whatever I think is best. I do all the saving forthe trip also. I actually do all the finances since I work at he bank. He just wants to know what to do when.

10% DH and 90% me...and I like it!!!

DH is just about as Disney nuts as I am but he has know since we met that I handle Money$$$ better and I love to plan...

If he had to, he would but since I love it, he lets me plan it all.

When we start, we talk about How many days, if we add a beach visit, what are the MUST do's for both of us and what restaurants we want to try.

After that, I plan like crazy, I get the best deals on EVERYTHING thanks to the DIS!

Now, anytime we are in the car or alone at a restaurant, he has me walk him through "OUR" plan so he feels comfortable and he gives his ideas for changes or to add things.

Just the other day, he asked where we wanted to eat before MNSSHP...I told him off-site or Kona...He asked why not Liberty Tree Tavern...I said it probably is full since they released the times months ago...Well we were in the car, I grabbed my cell and called because he wanted to try...and guess what...THEY HAD A TABLE FOR 4:15 on October 30th!!! :earboy2:

I love my DH...He is the best TRAVEL BUDDY ever :wizard:

I do all the planning. I am as obsessed as the OP. I make charts of days in the parks, restaurants, etc. I also research all types of hotels and make charts with amenities, prices, location etc. Then I show everything to my DH and he helps me confirm what I want. Plus, all the websites are invaluable - DIS, allearsnet and mousesavers.

In our family (ME, 47 DH 48, DS 14, DS 13) all but the 13 yr old plans. I buy the plane tickets and book the car and hotel and DS & DH plots out where to go, eat , shows etc... Before we leave we know exactly what we are doing and when. We have a short sprint trip coming up Nov. 10-14. I also do the packing!

I do all the planning. :) It's so much funs! But what is the deal with Southwest! I have been patiently waiting for the $49 flights for the last couple weeks and they are not showing up. :(
