Who needs auto mode?

This was my first trip to the World without using auto mode at all. On our last two visits I was using a Nikon D80 and it never left auto mode. The majority of this trip I used aperture priority. As you can see darker rides are still a bit of a pain and I still have a long way to go, but a few shots came out decent.

As I said the darker rides are tough.

Were you using a manual focus lens?

I think I'm confused. Did you use manual focus or manual settings for the camera? :confused3

I guess I just can't imagine anyone wanting to manual focus for an entire trip! For a couple hours or only with a specific lens maybe, but for a whole trip to the world?? That must be time consuming and exhausting!!! ;)

Ahhhh, gotta crawl before you walk. I was using an auto-focus lens and aperture priority mode on the camera. Does that sound about right? Lead the horse to water...... :goodvibes

Perhaps you mean you never used an auto-exposure mode- like 'Landscape' or something? I am confused as well.

I think the OP means that on the last trip they used the D80 and kept it in full auto the whole trip, whereas this trip they used the D90 and ventured out into "A" mode for most of their shooting...think being the key word here :goodvibes

if it's "auto focus who needs it?"would be me since i can't see well enough to manual focus "auto mode" makes more sense but now i am totally confused as to exactly what the poster did ,however the photos look nice:lmao:

PAcpl,
You may want to go back and edit your original thread title to clarify auto mode vs auto focus. I think we all will use auto focus whenever it's practical to do so.

Great pix, btw! I do love the Castle colors that you captured.
