Who Needs a Touring Plan when You Have a Two Year Old! March 2011 TR *UPDATED 4/19*

I'm here!!! Great report so far! I love the pic of Michael watching the Lion King, so so cute!

It was awesome to meet you! I am going to plan a NYC DISMeet this summer sometime, there are oodles of us in this area, so I figured it's GOTTA HAPPEN. I'll keep you posted on it all.

Subscribing...we are going in May with a 5 year old and 3 year old and curious to see your report with the little one:)

Just caught up on your update. Yak & Yeti looked so good! Your pictures made me hungry!

it was really good.. your cs yak and yeti pics looks good too!

Subbing!! We arrived on the same day, & were @ AK the same day, & ate the same thing @ Yak & Yeti. Spooooooky!!! :rotfl:

lol that is very funny we probably saw each other in passing :rotfl2:

LOVE all your pics! You food looks like it was super yummy!

Thanks! The food was super yummy:thumbsup2

Subbing!

The weather on the 7th was rough, wasn't it? We were at Epcot that day and decided to forget about Illuminations because even in long pants and light jackets my girls were complaining about the cold. Of course, back home in the snowy north they'll argue that they don't need coats at those same temps... :rotfl:

Welcome... yes it was very rough the sun started coming out after we had lunch but by then we were heading to the hotel for nap time go figure. Lol at your girls I agree 50 in NY is not the same as 50 in FL ;)

Just found your TR! All caught up ready to read more! :goodvibes

Your DS is a cutie!

Welcome and thanks =)

Welcome!

After we left Y&Y we went to some of the gift shops to look around and Michael feel asleep. So we headed back to the hotel. We had planned to head over to DTD after nap time and then make our way to DHS for EMH and the Disney Junior dance party. I also hoped to finally get on TSM...:rolleyes1. Overall I loved AK... I have heard so many people say it is a 1/2 day park... that there is not a lot to do there:confused3, there was so much we didn't get to do!

That was the plan...until I realized it was 3:00 and both John and Michael were still napping so I knew the dance party was not going to happen. When they finally woke up... we got ready and headed to DTD. Our first stop was design a tee, we each designed a tee and made plans to pick them up before we left. Then we headed to the Christmas Shop for a 2011 ornament, I love that store :)
100_2647.jpg

I didn't get this but I really really want it... hopefully I can get online later on!

Next in line was Mickey's Pantry were we got a pirate ship plate for Michael. Then we headed to Earl of Sandwich this was when I looked at my watch and realized it was already 7:30pm :scared1: We decided to just stay in DTD and then head back to the hotel. ANYWAY, it was our first time at Earl of Sandwich and it was sooo yummy! I have no pictures... mainly because Michael didn't really want to eat his grilled cheese, he wanted the cupcake instead lol. John and I both had the BLT and I think we are going to make Earl of Sandwich a Family tradition:).
After dinner we went to the Lego store were Michael decided a box of legos had to be his, John and I both tried to distract him with other things but he kept saying "I want that one". So we got it... and headed to my favorite store World of Disney. This is where I fell in love with the Disney Nerds... they are just so cute so I got a Minnie Nerds shirt, John got 2 shirts and we were done. We had one more stop Goofy's Candy Co... but before we headed over there we found a dance party in DTD and Michael couldn't resist...

We went to pick up some treats and we got on the bus to head back to the hotel. We were halfway to the hotel when I realized we forgot our shirts  As soon as we got to Coronado Springs I went to the concierge and asked if we could have the shirts delivered. The cast member was great it took about ten minutes and a little convincing but they agreed :yay:. On our way to our room we stopped to get out refillable mugs but they only had the yellow ones... which we didn't want so we just left.

NEXT: Cape May Breakfast ... I Fall in Love all over again

I'm not sure if I've mentioned it but those curls are adorable!
Hope you find your mugs soon!

I LOVE NERDS!!! I got the purse!! I have an issue with Disney and Purses..so what is better than a Disney Purse?!! LOL!! I love how a change in plans can work out sometimes better..it sounds like everyone needed those naps and now you guys have a new tradition!! Loved that you found a dance party after all!!

Day three which was Tuesday 3/8 was our "rest" day. We had a 8:30 ADR at Cape May for breakfast, so it was a nice no rush morning :). We took the bus to DHS and from there took the bus to the Beach Club. We arrived at Cape May at about 8:20 and there was a pretty long line, but it moved fairly quickly and we were seated by 8:35. Before I post the pics let me just say this is my favorite character breakfast (for now). The food was great, there is plenty of time take pictures, and joke around with the characters. We didn't get to see Mickey in his swim suit lol but that was ok with us.

I asked Minnie for a solo shot and she struck a pose :rotfl:

It was only 10:00 when we left Cape May so I said hey maybe we can go to DHS and get on toy story. (BACK STORY: We purchased a 5 day ticket so we had one day for each park and an extra day for us to go back to whatever we wanted... if we went to DHS that would use up the extra day.) John however wanted to head to Epcot later that afternoon to do some rides so we could spend more time at WS the following day. Soooo I agreed maybe I can do TSM next trip :rolleyes1 Instead of taking the bus back to DHS we took the boat, and oh man I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beach club... I really want to stay here next sooo its time to start saving :lmao:

Newly planted so pretty...

Happy Anniversary! That is gorgeous!! How big is it?

I loved the picture of Max with his birthday cupcake and also the panorama of the Boardwalk Hotels

So we left off with pool plans. First let me say that when I booked CSR I asked for a preferred room because I thought being near the store and restaurants would be best with a 2 year old, I told myself the walk to the pool wasn't going to be too bad... and it wasn't however, I think next time I will have book closer to the pool. So we changed into our bathing suits and were off... the weather wasn't extremely hot but it was in the eighties so it was warm enough.

Kiddie Pool

Michael came out the kiddie pool and he was shivering.. I felt so bad, my first thought was its not that cold but maybe the cold he had earlier in the week was making a come back...we went back to the room gave him a warm bath and but him down for his nap.

Once he woke up we got dressed for Epcot and our Chef Mickey's ADR. Our plan was to do our Future World must dos and then head out to the Contemporary on the Monorail.

100_2701.jpg

As we walked in we took some Photopass pics (I'll post these later) and headed to SPE... on our was there I saw ash-n-brensmom LGMH on her bag so I called her name out and tada instant DIS meet. :) We introduced the rest of our families and went on our way which was the same way they were headed (we met up again on the queue). I was a little concerned about Mikey on SPE this was his first real ride and it can be quite dark at times... he LOVED IT :thumbsup2,

100_2704.jpg

Future Mikey

He wanted to go back on and kept saying Mommy space ;) but we wanted to stay on track and headed to Nemo.

100_2707.jpg

On our way....

Nemo was another favorite and I expected that since he loves the movie.
100_2709.jpg

Of course he wanted his own Nemo after that :rotfl:

After Nemo we rode Figment a first for all of us and ok it was a bit cheesy bit fun cheesy. This was the last of our to do and we had time left to kill. I had been texting another DISer Brook to see if we could finally meet. The timing was right and we headed to Mexico to say hi!. (No pic :confused3...sorry I'm new to this) After the meet we walkd to the Monorail after a transfer and a couple of stops we were at the Contemporary.

Our ADR was for 8:30 which is LATE for us... we eat dinner around 7 at home but it was the only opening they had. We arrived at Chef Mickey's around 8:15 and honestly I didn't think it was that crowded... we were walked over to take our picture and then I saw :scared1: a whole lot of people waiting to be seated. It was insane I overheard the family standing by us saying that they had been waiting for twenty minutes and were ready to go. I consider myself to be fairly reasonable and understanding but really needed to know what we were in for so I walked over to the CM who was in charge of the seating and asked if they were running behind on reservation time and he said "yes sorry but we are about 40 minutes behind schedule" Mikey was extremely cranky at this point and while we really wanted him to have this experience I really wanted him to have his dinner...
[/FON[/SIZE]T]

UP NEXT: Serious Pixie Dust!

I mentioned in the previous post that Mikey was getting cranky... but it was more than that he started coughing and his nose was starting to run...(sigh we should have not gone swimming). It was quickly becoming one of those moments were as a parent you think you're the worst parent ever and you really have to fix it... so I walked back to the CM and asked if we could just cancel and we would just eat some place else and he said "No ma'm please we will try to seat you as soon as possible, feel free to grab anything from the buffet for your son to eat while you wait." So I grabbed an apple and gave it Michael, he was into it for a few bites and then didn't want it anymore. Finally we were called (9:00) and were seated. Mikey's cough was worse and honestly I just wanted to leave. As I came back with Mikey's plate John said to me "we're here let just make the best of it" so we did...

Once we finished eating and purchased our photo John went ahead with Michael while I waited for the check... I kept trying to the attention of our server but she kept going right past me, I finally caught her and asked for the check and she says oh no your meal has been taken care of! So of course I was shocked...and then excited (we had an extra credit now). After sharing the good news with John we head back to the monorail. We took the bus to DHS by this time the park was closed (it was about 10:40) and it looked really empty... so I asked the bus driver "can we get the bus to our resort from here?" (WHY DIDN'T I RESEARCH THIS BEFORE???:confused3) Of course he says "no ma'm this is not a transfer situation" :) He goes on to say "we would have to take the bus back to MK with him and there transfer to our hotel bus" Of course we had no other option so we said thank you and braced ourself for a very long commute. Much to my surprise the bus driver then asked where we were staying and when I said CSR he said "I'll just drop you off". I was SUPER SUPER grateful... I couldn't believe it, that made my night.

I am one of those people who does not expect anything special when at Disney world I've heard great stories of people being upgraded, and other great things but I know that its not the norm. That being said I am very grateful for the free meal, and I am extremely grateful for that bus driver :littleangel:

Yay for pixie dust!!!! Was your meal free because of the wait?

I hope Michael is feeling better by the next morning!!!!

Wow! That is some awesome back-to-back pixie dust!!! :yay:

I just read your Cape May breakfast update too---soooooo good, isn't it? I love the picture of Michael with his eyes GLUED on that cupcake! :rotfl:

Sounds like Michael was a good sport with the late dinner. And what a great bus driver!

Sooo I have been MIA for about a month. I was busy with finals, papers, some viral infections (Michael and Me), and major changes at work. Anyway I'm done with school for the next week, summer session starts right after Memorial Day so I have to finish this report this week. I also want to catch up on all the TRs I haven't kept up with.

We have started planning our 2012 trip... it might be a July trip; I'm very excited to start really planning for that one. BUT I will finish with this one first.

Sorry to hear about the sickness! Yuck! :sad2:

I hope you guys are enjoying this beautiful weather we have been having! We practically live at the parks.

Write when you can - we'll hang tight until then!!!

I'm Finally BAAAACK!

SO I made the mistake of ripping out the pages of my notepad... and yeah I can't find them so this will now be a picture TR with captions. I promise I will do better next year! :confused3

So I know I left off with our extremely long visit to Chef Mickey's. The next day was our Epcot day and we (John and I) were super excited since the last time we went to Epcot it was really rushed. BUT of course it wasn't really about us and Mikey was SICK  that day. I guess he still was fighting whatever it was he caught before the trip and the events of the previous night made it worse. We decided to go to Epcot and see how he was when we got there...

It was all downhill from here, so we left and spent the rest of the day at the hotel relaxing and pampering Mikey.

Magic Kingdom was our last visit and that morning it was pouring! We had 8:30 reservation at the Crystal Palace so it was pretty empty when we walked in. Sorry no castle picture since it was trying my best to keep dry. ANYWAY breakfast was delicious and lots of fun!

100_2764.jpg

As you can see someone was feeling much better! :thumbsup2

A special appearance by "Teddy".

Once breakfast was over we headed to the very empty Fantasy Land...

100_2767.jpg

So we rode... Peter Pan, Pooh, IASW, and watched the PhilarMagic Show all in an hour.. every ride was a walk on it was amazing!
We still had some time to spare before our haircut appointment so we went on JC also a walk on.
