Who made Michelle's dress?

Thank goodness some one else that it was greenish. I thought I was colour blind for a minute.:lmao: I was watching it in HD too !

I saw a picture of it and then I thought maybe it is gold but watched the news clips again and it is green again. :confused3

That must be the difference.

I watched the whole inauguration in HD. But I bet the re-run clips were not HD and didn't reflect the color properly.

I heard on the news that they guy who designed the dress. Designs the clothes for the Barbie Doll

I usually like her wardrobe, but this looks like my grandmother's bedspread to me.:confused3

The Cuban American designer designed the outfit she wore to the swearing in ceremony this afternoon.

All the papers are predictably raving about it today but I thought it was buttugly. I don't get it. She's a tall, trim woman who could probably wear just about anything well, yet she wears something that looks like a 1950s prom dress made from a chenille bedspread. What gives? :scared:

I swear, she could show up in a burlap sack with head holes and arm holes cut out and the media would RAVE about her fashion forward use of natural material. It's like The First Lady's New Clothes. No one will speak up and say the truth.

I know literature has Scarlett O'Hara making a beautiful dress out of drapes, but that's just a story......Let's put Granny's bedspread back on the bed and use some REAL fabric from now on. :lmao:

I thought both outfits were beautiful!:) (and the girls were just precious!)

TC:cool1:

I liked her dresses yesterday. I didn't care for Jill Biden's boots and short coat.

I thought Mrs. Biden looked like she belonged on a street corner in that outfit!

Michelle's inaugural dress was nice. Very appropriate. It did appear green on my tvs. If it was gold, why was she wearing green gloves?

The top half of the evening gown was fine, the bottom was too full & I would hate anything that swept the floor.

That while I loved the daytime outfit (by the way she kept warm with "arm socks" under the topcoat), I thought the gown was horrendous!:crazy2: :crazy2:

DH switched over to the ball for a few minutes last night and said "I wonder if anyone has tod Michelle Obama that she has Toilet Paper stuck to her dress!":scared1:

Ouch! Stacy London's got nothing on him!

Ah, yeah. I think it looks like an appliqued beadspread as well. I'm sure it's beautiful but looks bad on TV.

I was thinking the same thing. I told my daughter this morning that we need to take a trip to Washington to see the dress when it is in the Smithsonian. I'm hoping it looks great but just doesn't photograph well!

Be afraid...I thought the same thing!!!!:lmao:

I also thought "whats with the Wilma Flinstone one shoulder strap"...Did you???

:crazy2: Yikes I am turnin into Joan Rivers.

We are just too much alike! Must be the hair! Maybe we should be interviewers for the next red carpet event!:thumbsup2

...I'm hoping it looks great but just doesn't photograph well!

I HAVE to believe that's entirely the case. I'm sure the crystals that were not really noticable helped it, too.

Thank goodness some one else that it was greenish. I thought I was colour blind for a minute.:lmao: I was watching it in HD too ! ....

I'm with you. I absolutely can see how it may look yellow, but it wasn't a clear yellow to me when I first saw it. The more pictures and videos I see validates my original thought that it was an odd shade of green. The designer, Isabel, has said that the color is lemongrass. So indeed there's a slight tint of green in it. So we're not crazy or color blind!

If you look at the scarf she was wearing inside the coat during the parade, that definitely appears green. That brings the subtle green in the dress out even more. Then her gloves were without question green (not that you can't wear green accessories with a yellow dress). So let's talk about those green shoes she had on. THAT was bad. First, they are in an entirely different family of green than her gloves. Secondly, the color tone of the dress and the shoes were in different families as well.

Regardless, I do think she's a classy lady.

I never really noticed the shoes until you posted the pictures. :lmao: Not one to wear heels or dress shoes so my feet would have been hurting.

Someone said the dress was lined for warm, I can see now it is like fleece inside.

I'm Canadian so we don't have as many pictures like I heard were in your papers. But I watched never the less. I watched on abc with Charlie and Diane. They gave a lot of history of the White House etc.
