Why didn't someone tell me that you work twice as hard AFTER you close on a new home than you did in the five months building it?!?
Since last Friday at 4pm, I have:
1) Hung eight sets of blinds (ok, DH and dad did, I supervised)
2) Hung curtain rods, had them pull out of the wall because the drapes were too heavy, had to re-spackle and paint.
3) Touched up approximately 4 millions spots on the wall where we crashed into it with random objects.
4) Spent $800 at WalMart and $1060 at Lowes in ONE DAY on curtains, garden hoses, solar lights, ladders, and crap you never know you need until you build a big house.
5) Planted hosta plants, dug up monkey grass, pulled up sod and filled in a hole (I have never willingly touched dirt before)
6) Loaded and carried 1200 pounds/793 square feet of hardwood from the warehouse into the Explorer into the house
7) Worked three 12 hour shifts at the ER
8) Met the garage door man and the glass people after 3 hours of sleep after working three nights in a row
9 Ate out three times a day because I'm so tired.
10) Generally been a witch with a B due to no sleep and muscle aches.
And dont tell me it gets better...The hardwood installers come tomorrow and Friday, Sears is dropping off the stainless stove, fridge, and microwave hood combo on Saturday, I have to pack up a 1500 square foot apartment this weekend while entertaining the in-laws on MIL's B-day Saturday, and be ready for the movers on Monday morning...then back to work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
HELP! SEND PIXIE DUST AND MUSCLE RELAXERS!!!
