~!Who knew you could relax in Disney?~Mother/Daughter Tr~5/2 May Trip Plans Days 5-8

Thank you :)

It was so nice that there were no crowds that trip that we had plenty of time to do the "must do" rides and to fit in the cheesier or often skipped ones :)

I think you'll really like CSR! We stayed there in Dec.2008 and really liked it. Since the weather wasn't warm enough we didn't get to use their pool though. The pool and hotel are very nicely themed so I think you'll enjoy it! What are your August dates?

Caitlin is already planning another TR so I hope you follow along :)

I'm sure I will, and we will definitely be checking out the pool! :thumbsup2 We all love it in the heat of the summer in Orlando. :sunny: Our dates for August are the 17th to the 29th, with the 17th and 18th being non-park days. We will probably just go to DTD, resort hop and hang out at CSR on those 2 days. I will definitely follow along with the next TR! Can't wait!popcorn::

That sounds like a great trip! Aww we will probably just miss you since our current plan is to arrive on the 29th. Glad you'll be onboard for the next tr :)

It was "hot" (high 80's-low 90's) but because there were hurricanes elsewhere there were wonderful cool breezes that made it feel cooler and kept the humidity down. Our last day those breezes ended and that made it very hot and humid and made it easier to go home

Taking afternoon pool breaks worked great for us. By the time we were getting hot and tired it was time for a swim or Dale would take a nap. The crowds were really light which sort of makes up for the heat :)

Well I hope those breezes come back this August. Good to hear the crowds are light. That is what we heard so we choose the last week because of it. My kids aren't back in school until after Labor day.

BTW, we now switched to POFQ. I really wanted to try POP but we like the idea that they put Queen beds in the renovated rooms at POFQ. My son is a tosser, so the more room the better. LOL.

Your kids having a later start is a nice perk since you get to travel when most of them are back in school :thumbsup2

The new rooms at POFQ look nice. We stayed there in 2009 and enjoyed the resort. I love the boat ride to DTD :)

Great report. I really enjoyed the pictures. You got some lovely shots.

Sounds like you two had a nice meet-and-greet with Tiana and Naveen. Those two are so much fun.

Glad to hear the "hidden" upstairs dining at CHH wasn't crowded. When we were there in October it was packed up there, and I thought maybe the secret had gotten out.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed them :)

After the 2 wonderful meets we've had with them I think they are my favorite couple to visit in the parks. They are so charming :)

I guess how crowded the upstairs is depends on how many Dissers are visiting on a given day

You really met a lot of characters in the MK! Looks like you had an awesome day!

That pineapple bar sounds d-lish!

We did thanks! Everyone talks about "Dole Whips" but our family prefers the pineapple bars. They are great! :)

Aww yes you probably will, unless you have plans to go to DTD on the 29th, because that is where we go on our last day. :( I hope you have a great trip though! :goodvibes

So after we all met up and I finished my pizza we headed to Stormalong Bay! We absolutely loved SAB! I wasn't a huge fan of the slide since you have to walk across a walkway to get to it but it was fun!

While we were there we rented another tube so we could float around in the lazy river and during that time we saw all of the lifegaurds get up a dance for the changing of the gaurd!

Every time we were down at the pool they had something going on and it was fun to watch all of the kids playing along :cutie:

While we sat by the pool we grabbed some drinks I had my favorite lava smoothie, my mom had her favorite a coke and my dad had a mai tai.

After a while mom and dad were getting hungry so they went over to Hurricane Hannah's to get a hot dog meal and a burger meal. Contrary to popular belief Hurricane Hannah's food is nothing like the food at Beaches and Cream!

I held out on dinner because there was a special meal I wanted to have at the Magic Kingdom :thumbsup2

Once we were done in the water we headed upstairs to get dressed and head to the Magic Kingdom.

Our first stop was Casey's because I wanted to try these little beauties...

 They were amazing :lovestruc I actually have never liked corn dogs but these tasted so good! I also had them after we got back at an EMU function and I have to say the ones at EMU rival the ones at Casey's!

My dad also had a hot dog

After I was full and my tummy was happy we headed to the Carousel of Progress where I took this picture.

I was on the look out for Hidden Mickey's this trip and I found a ton of them! (Since I found so many HMs I bought the Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World book so I could look for new things and that book is amazing! Definitely recommended for Die Hard Disney fans!)

We then headed to Monsters Inc. another one of my favorites :lovestruc I always walk away with a huge smile on my face!

My dad and I then went on Space Mountain!

Then it was time to try out the new TTA and it was a bit faster than we remembered it being

I also like that they brought back the "Paging Mr. Tom Morrow" I know a lot of DISers were upset about this so I was glad they brought it back!

After our ride around Tomorrowland we headed to Buzz for a couple of rides

and then it was time for our Wishes Dessert Party!

Now I have a bit of a complaint here the WDP doesn't serve Coke products so I went to get my mom and I cokes. I waited in line for a good 15 minutes and got the cokes and brought them to my mom. Keep in mind this is right before the MSEP and Wishes so I had to step over a lot of people! Well I get back to my mom she tries the coke and its flat. I take both drinks walk back and wait in line for 20 minutes for new cokes. I get back to my mom she tries it and its flat. We decide that the coke just isn't meant to be but it was quite a tiresome adventure

By the time I got back from getting the second cokes the WDP is well under way! Check out these yummy desserts!

Everything was amazing! My personal favorite was the Pistachio Creme Brulee and I am not a huge Creme Brulee fan! It just tasted so good!

We had a good view of the MSEP but not the best so we decided we would have to come back again to get a better view :thumbsup2

They had a photopass photog there so we grabbed a picture (which ended up being our Christmas card photo)

Then it was time for the fireworks....

I cried, my mom got misty eyed and my dad had a great time! It was well worth the money and I would recommend it to anyone who was thinking of going! We loved it so much we are going back in May! After the party we packed up and headed back to the resort so I could get some sleep for my big day tomorrow!

Next up: Do I conquer the big wave at my surf lesson?
Are there any more cuties?
How many times do I end up falling while trying to surf?

That sucks about the cokes, but hopefully all the yummy desserts made up for.

What an awesome view of the fireworks you guys had, I love the picture with the hearts over the castle.

Are they still offering this party this year?

your pictures are awesome and I can't wait to go I will be at the WDP in just 20 days :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

if they don't serve coke products what do they serve for drinks there??

Family and I (well, my wife and I are considering....though all 5 of us would be attending) are considering the Dessert Party for an upcoming October trip (assuming it's still running).

Those pictures might have just sealed the deal! The view looks great and the food looks YUM-O (if I can steal a Rachel Ray-ism).

Now my only concern is how it "plays out" with the new castle show....and wondering if we could get a parade spot, watch the parade at the hub, and then quickly hoof it over to the party.

Hmmm.....

Great pics of the fireworks!
We tried the dessert party a couple of weeks ago and had a great time as well.
It was freezing that night but it was so nice to have seats with a great view of the fireworks!
And we even caught the new Photopass show before the fireworks from the party! :cool1:

Wow those pics are amazing!!! And I have only read bad things about the Dessert Party, and that looks to be quite the contrary! I would love to take my girls to that. I wish they did it early in the day, I can't imagine eating that so close to bed. lol (but I would certainly try!! :rotfl2:)

My favorite pic is the castle reflecting in the water, I have day ones like that but never thought to do a night one. Great photography!!

Love this TR!!

Great update!

I noticed a couple of things....your favorite drink is a lava smoothie...Jasmine's favorite drink is a lava smoothie.....you love corn dogs from Casey's....Jasmine loves corn dogs from Casey's....do you think it has something to do with all three of us being scorpios too!!!:lmao: I have a funny feeling we are going to have the best time this summer!!!

WDP.....I have no words...I was drooling all over the computer....I could just taste those chocolate covered strawberries!!! YUM!!

Last two updates were great!

Dawn - you got some awesome pictures at the MK. I love those overalls with the mickey face on the butt. Too cute!

Lunch looks yummy. Too bad it was ruined by the puking episode. yuck!

You managed to suffer through the Tiki birds.

Caitlin - great fireworks pics. You are so kind to waster 40 mins of your time getting your mom a flat coke. :headache: How annoying.

The dessert party looks delish! Wow - so many choices. I wouldn't know where to start.

Yay!!! We love the Wishes Dessert Party too! It's such a nice party with delicious desserts! I never even thought about the fact that they don't have soda there...that is odd! Just water, tea, lemonade and coffee. You'd think one of those portable little fountain machines wouldn't be too much work to wheel into there. :confused3
