~!Who knew you could relax in Disney?~Mother/Daughter Tr~5/2 May Trip Plans Days 5-8

After all those delicious Cape May pictures, I think I need a snack! My stomach is growling!

What a wonderful and relaxing evening spent on the beach. I really want to do one of the night movies they show at the resorts, I always have it on the list, but it never happens!

I was craving sea food after posting those pics

It was a very nice night!

Hi Everybody! :)

As Caitlin told you we had some stressful things going on that lead me to not feel like Dis-ing but now I'm back :woohoo:

One of the worst things about the situation I was dealing with was that due to circumstances outside our control we had to cancel our planned visit to the YC for free dining. :sad2: We cancelled knowing we would just rebook but for a family of adults "free dining" represents huge savings so this was a major bummer! As I was waiting to rebook though, Dale told me he really didn't want to wait until Aug. to go on vacation. Work has been wearing him down and he wanted/needed a spring vacation. He knew though that part of why we chose August was to meet up with some special Dis friends so a plan was hatched that instead of a deluxe family vacation we'd go moderate in May and then Caitlin and I could go back for a "girl's trip" in August :woohoo:

So I am happy to say we are going back to WDW May 3-9 :yay: After much debate between POR and CSR we decided on CSR. While I love the evening entertainers at the PORs and the boat to DTD, I just hate the bus situation there so CSR won by a bus ;)
Like any good Disser I've already made the adrs and was able to get all our favorites including 'Ohana and LeCellier :)

If any of you are planning to be there at that time please let us know so we can look for you :)

That's our news....now it's time for me to work on update I hope to post soon :)

On this particular day we woke up early. VERY EARLY! As in 5:30 am early! Since we were up and it was early morning EMH at the MK we decided to get up and get moving. Our plan for the day was we'd all go to the MK and then Caitlin would leave around 10:30 to go meet a certain CM ;) while Dale and I continued touring the MK.

This was our first morning at the BCV and I have to say the bathroom vanity area is much nicer at BWV. I really liked that at the BWV the sink vaity area had drawers. I t was nice to be able to put our makeup/hair straightener/etc away and not have to look at it. The BCV had no such drawers so it always looked really messy. Another issue was the hair dryers. The BWV dryers are 1875 watts while the BCV are only 1500. This may not sound like a big deal to you but we have very thick hair and it was August so it was HUMID. You'll notice our hair getting progressively worse in the rest of the pictures

Anyway, back to our story....after a breakfast of muffins, in the room, we headed down to the bus stop around 7:15. As luck would have it a bus was waiting to carry us to the MK and we arrived there around 7:30. We immediately noticed that the Halloween decorations were now up and of course snapped some pics

When we got in line we noticed that in the train station office a candle seemed to be burning.

We were certain there must be a story that goes with so we asked the CM but she said it ws her first Halloween there and she wasn't sure. She asked another CM who was also clueless.:confused3 So I'm betting one of our Dis friends knows the story and hoping you'll share it! Please enlighten us if you know the story!

EMH began at 8am and we were immediately inside the park and headed toward Fantasyland. We were walking up Main Street when we realized Snow White and Alice were suddenly in front of us. They had spotted a young boy of 5 or 6 in a wheelchair. They approached him and asked if they could escort him to Fantasyland. Each of the girls took one of his hands and the 3 of them held hands all the way to the castle. The boys face was beaming and his parents looked ecstatic. It was beautiful to witness such a magical moment and Caitlin and I were both in tears. It was probably the most memorable walk down Main Street I'll ever see and it was a perfect start to our day. As we neared the castle, we found ourselves behind Bert and Mary! They were arm in arm and when they approached the curb they did the jump they do in the movie. It took them about 3 tries to do it in sync but it was adorable to watch! :cutie:

When we got to Fantasyland the place was nearly empty! We walked on everything! First up was Peter Pan!

Caitlin was so excited she spotted this Hidden Mickey in the clouds under Peter's feet

A random pic from the ride

Our carousel days are long behind us but isn't it pretty?
disneysummer2010593.jpg

Next up was Snow White. Now I realize how cheesy this ride is, but I must admit I will miss it when they close it down even though the Dwarves Mine ride should put the old ride to shame.

Since I don't do circular ides we walked right on past that flying elephant
disneysummer2010595.jpg

Next up were the teacups!
disneysummer2010605.jpg

Now we normally skip the teacups because I find them absolutely torturous!(again circular motion) However when we got near them no one was there! Dale and Caitlin were the only people on the ride! How cool is that?! :cool2:

While they rode I got some pictures of the work being done in Fantasyland

disneysummer2010600.jpg

The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie so I can't wait for this ride!
disneysummer2010599.jpg

When the tea party was over we headed into Tomorrowland. We walked on Buzz twice in a row!

Then Dale and Caitlin visited Space Mountain which was the first wait of the day. A whopping 10 minutes!

disneysummer2010609.jpg

Since the park was still pretty empty we decided to ride the Tomorrowland Speedway. We always skip this ride, c'mon it's not worth waiting for, but since it was a walk-on why not?! Caitlin rode solo and I drove while Dale sat back and relaxed
It was now nearing 10am and Caitlin wanted to ride BTMRR before she left the park so we headed to Frontierland.

disneysummer2010621.jpg

Our luck held on and BTMRR was a walk-on too :dance3:

disneysummer2010618.jpg

After our wild ride Caitlin decided she had time to visit those 999 ghosts.
And yep! Another walkon!
disneysummer2010624.jpg

We then walked Caitlin to the front of the park and said our goodbyes. Our plan was to meet back at the pool in the afternoon.

Next up...do Caitlin and Julio finally hang out? popcorn::

Another great update! We don't usually ride the Speedway either, but did for the first time in January as the queue was so short! I was so bad at driving - I kept bumping into the metal guide!!! :) So glad you have another trip to look forward to in May. :)

Thank you :)

I was pretty bad at driving too :rotfl: Dale kept thinking I was going to crash into Caitlin who was in front of us

Thank you!:) It's been a rough month (and it's not over yet) so we're all really looking forward to a break!

Sorry things have been rough but YAY for having another trip in the works! :thumbsup2

The picture of Mary Poppins and Bert is really cute. In Aug. we saw Tiana and Naveen walking away after the opening show. Love it! :goodvibes

Sounds like a great morning so far and it's always nice when there are hardly any waits!

I'm sorry to hear you guys have been having such a rough time, but exciting that you now have two trips in the work instead of just one:goodvibes

Walking on to everything in Fantasyland looks awesome and I'm looking forward to more

Before I can even read your update I must respond to this because YOU KNOW WHO is going to be there during that time, don't you?????????

Yes - the EAST meets WEST girls -- which includes me!!!! I will be leaving to go home on the 5th on a 630pm flight, so we absolutely must meet!!!!!

We will be staying at BCV during that time! I have to look and see what our ADRS our, but I am sure we can squeeze in a DIS meet. :woohoo::woohoo: So excited!!!!!

Fun update! Sorry things have been rough at home. I totally know what its like to go through a rough patch. Its no fun and it sucks up your energy.

I love all your pictures from this last update, but I think my fav is Dale and Caitlin in the teacup. Will Caitlin be there in May or will she still be in school?

Love the story about the little boy in the wheelchair. Such a magical moment!

Thanks I really liked the pic of them too. I love Tiana and Naveen! In my next installment Dale and I meet them.

It was a really nice morning and one of my favorite days of the whole trip :goodvibes

Thank you :) Everybody has their stressors now and then it's just sucked because all 3 of us have had stuff so it just multiplies things.

We are very excited about the upcoming trips! :goodvibes

We totally lucked out that morning!

I knew you had a May trip coming but I wasn't sure what the dates were. If you have time to squeeze it in we'd love a Dis Meet! :goodvibes

Thanks. It's been a rough month stress wise but things are looking up and of course Disney is the best stress reliever! :thumbsup2

Thank you I like that picture too. Caitlin will be there in May too. We had to wait until then so she'd be out of school :)

Glad you liked the story. It really touched us to witness the magic :goodvibes

Welcome back!! Wow 2 trips? I'm so excited for you guys!!!
My girls keep bugging me, but the construction put a damper on it in July, so I can imagine how it is now. But my one daughter thinks the crowds will be low because of it. I don't know!! (I know my ticker says we are going, it automatically put itself on there from the last trip and I can't get it off!! lol)

Consider it done! :woohoo: I am so excited that we are going to get to meet! Very cool! We will have to compare ADRs. Its fun going with a bunch of DISers, because the uber planners picked the ADRS and I feel like I am just along for the ride. Its nice not to have to be the planner for once. I like it. I like giving up control! :rotfl:

Plus, I am so excited to finally visit SAB. They are going to have to drag me out of there.

Last year there was a big DIS meet on Cinco de Mayo at the Ditch. I did not go because I couldn't drink and I knew it would KILL me to be around that many margaritas, but it looked like everyone had a fab time.

That's my departure day, but it would be really fun to plan a DIS meet with whoever else is going to be there. So far its me, Jenjolt, eandesmom, 2excited2sleep, mickeysmyboy, and manntra. Not sure who else is going during that time.

With out a doubt - the BEST stress reliever!

You guys got a ton done that morning-- the lack of waits must have been awesome! I love the story of the princesses and the boy in the wheelchair-- only at Disney do they dedicate so much energy to making people happy! Just beautiful!

So very excited that you have TWO upcoming trips...I couldn't be happier for you....I think with everything you've been dealing with...you deserve it:hug: I did almost have heart failure when I thought you weren't going in August....but yippppeeee that you still are!! Once that May trip is over, we'll have to compare our plans and make some plans of our own girls!!! We cannot wait for August!!!Are you going to have a PTR going?

That's so exciting that you have TWO trips on the horizon! There is talk of going in May (Nothing set in stone yet) but it would probably be later that week. I graduate from MSU that weekend (7th or the 8th).

That's awesome that there were no lines! I have your same aversion to the teacups...when I was little my dad liked to spin them real fast, now if I get near them I have flashbacks :lmao:

Can't wait to hear more! :goodvibes

Thank you! The last few years we've done a short girls trip and then a "family" trip this year we're just reversing the order :)

I understand about the construction putting a damper on the MK! It just doesn't feel quite as magical with the construction but I just tried to remind myself how cool it will look when it's done :)

I'm not sure how the crowds will be this summer. I think Harry Potter really hurt WDW last year and with the construction that just might continue.

We're so excited to be meeting you too! Well face to face anyway since we already feel like we know you after a few years on the Dis :) Let us know when you want to meet and we'll fit it in our schedule :goodvibes

You are going to love SAB!! We aren't "pool people" but we loved it! I seriously looked forward each day to getting back to the pool :)

We are planning to be at Epcot on CincoDeMayo so if that works into the plans you ladies have just let us know.
