~!Who knew you could relax in Disney?~Mother/Daughter Tr~5/2 May Trip Plans Days 5-8

You know the of us were eager to see Tangled after seeing drawings and other items in the Animation Building during our trip. Well this past weekend our schedules finally worked that all 3 of us could go see it. We saw the 3D version and let me say it did not disappoint! This movie has it all...beautiful and charming princess, handsome and charming "hero", funny supporting characters, great music, touching story and most of all HEART! For me, the key to a great Disney movie is that little something that tugs at your heart and brings a tear to your eye. (we thought the Princess and the Frog lacked heart)

It was a hit with all 3 of us and we all rank it up there with the classics from Caitlin's childhood...Aladdin, Lion King etc. For Caitlin it didn't replace Beauty and the Beast as her favorite (I felt the same way about Little Mermaid) but we both agreed Tangled makes our top 3! :thumbsup2 As for Dale, he loved it most of all and said it "replaces Toy Story" as his all-time favorite Disney movie.

So if you have not seen Tangled....GO! You will love it! If you have seen it...what did you think? Do you agree with our assessment?

Interesting review as we rarely go to the movies. Prices are just ridiculous now a days. That said, I'll need to put it on the list! One thing, CHILDHOOD movies!! Wow where did the time go in my life! I remember seeing Alladin when I was something like 16 ish? I can't even remember anymore. :rotfl2: Father time has got me again.

We all loved Tangled. DH even liked it although he thought there was a little too much singing. We didn't see it in 3D:sad2: Whenever we see a movie in
3D we usually leave the theater wondering why we paid more, but I have heard Tangled is one of those movies that actually makes the extra price worth it. I was thinking of taking Caitlin one more time to see it but she has already been back to see it with Grandma. Is three times too many?

I can't wait for it to come out on Blu-ray.
I agree with the 3d price. Adam told me on the cruise when we went to see TS 3D, that he didn't want to wear glasses because the screen hurts his eyes. So for us 2D it is!

Remember when you could wear out a VHS tape? I think my sister wore out The Little Mermaid at least once.:rotfl:

here that
Matinee prices are $5 (3D has a $2.50 upcharge) so when we go we make it early and it's not too bad.

You're right, time goes much too quickly! I can't believe Caitlin has been out of highschool for 2.5 years now! It seems like yesterday...

I really loved it. Especially the 3D effects! It didn't feel like a waste of the up charge like in a lot of other "3D" movies.

I laughed so much and cried about twice. Even Andrew got teary eyed near the end! Rapunzel is just adorable.

YAY! I'm glad you loved it! :goodvibes We all laughed a lot and I cried too :)

YUMMMMM! Biergarten! So, so good! That wonderful comforting food sounds so good to me right now on this cold New York day. Ahhhhh, I can almost hear the band playing now....:cloud9: Glad you enjoyed it too!

And Tangled! AWESOME! We loved it!! Henry was reaching out his little arms during the lantern scene trying to grab one. :cutie: This movie is easily in my top favorites - it made me laugh and tear up - just like you said, it had HEART!

Glad to hear you enjoyed Tangled. I haven't seen it yet but really really want to. Maybe over winter break.

I know what you mean about that food! Today we had lunch at Max and Erma's and we got pretzel breadsticks and potato soup and it reminded me of Biergarten

Aww...Henry is such a cutie! I bet you had as much fun watching him as you did the movie :goodvibes

Had to share....when we were in WDW in August we would have booked Bounceback but since free dining was already available for 2011 there was no BB offer. Flash forward to December, since free dining must be booked by 12/20 I went ahead this week and booked next year's trip :cool1:

My plan was to keep our resort a secret from Dale and Caitlin and do a big reveal Christmas morning, but we aren't very good at keeping secrets around here :rolleyes1 So since they know, I'll share with you :)

Dale had given me free reign to book whatever resort I wanted as long as I stuck to 5 nights (I'm hoping by August I'll convince him to make it 6 or 7 ;)) His reasoning is that his job only allows him to take 1 week at a time and he likes a break between starting vacation and going to WDW and then a day or 2 to relax after.

So with all the resorts to choose from...what did I decide? Well since we're going the same time we went this year an awesome pool is mandatory. However, I really want to try every resort. So what did I choose?

Well I went with.....

Yes the Yacht Club! This way we get Stormalong Bay again (it really is as wonderful as they say!) but we are technically staying at a new resort. As Hannah would say, "the best of both worlds"

Now that I've shared next year's plans, I'm off to start a new entry on this year's trip. Stay tuned...

When Caitlin left off, we were in Epcot and had just taken a delightful cruise on the Mexican Riviera with some colorful caballeros.....

Our next destination was Future World. We were headed to Innoventions so Caitlin and Dale could try the "Sum of All Thrills". Caitlin had missed it on our March trip and was really eager to check it out.

While they didn't make their ride as daring as Caitlin would have liked....you may recall we had just come from Biergarten where Dale had a beer flight +1 so he wasn't sure how his stomach would feel about going upside down .....they both loved this attraction! They ended up doing it twice that day and they will visit it again later in our trip.

While they rode, I played photographer....

When they were done we decided to head over to a "new" (ok new to anyone who didn't visit Epcot in the 80's) attraction. On our way to the Imagination Pavillion we stopped for a cold beverage at Club Cool. When we were in there I could not believe how slammed the place was! The majority of dispensers were out of pop ( pop, not soda, we are from Michigan) We were each able to get a drink though and after we were refreshed we were off to see Captain Eo!

Caitlin was really excited to see Capt. Eo for the first time and Dale and I were eager to see how the old show held up after all these years...

So what did we think? Well during the show Dale looked at me and we both laughed about how cheesy and outdated it was. We expected to hear Caitlin say she hated it. However, after the show she told us she "LOVED IT!" We were shocked that she thought it was great and wanted to see it again! We convinced her to wait and see it again another day and instead we visited our old pal Figment. I'm sure you're thinking...wow another cheesy ride. But Journey into Imagination is one of our WDW guilty pleasures. That silly little ride is a must do for our family :)

When we finished with Figment we decided it was time to go back to the resort and enjoy some downtime at the scary clown pool. As we walked past the Boardwalk Bakery we suddenly hear "Hola Caitlin" as Julio (the CM she meet the day before) popped out of the bakery. She stayed and chatted for a bit while Dale and I continued back to the room. When she got to the room she was carrying a virgin pina colada courtesy of Julio. (it helps to know cms )

The 3 of us went changed and went and hung out at the pool for awhile.

I know some people find this pool creepy but I think the carnival theming is really fun...

After about 45 minutes we decided we were hungry and needed some dinner. Now we still had 7 of our 9 cs credits left so Caitlin and I set off in search of some dinner. Little did we know how difficult a task lay ahead of us...
I was in the mood for a simple hot dog and fries. Umm yeah, easier said then done! :headache: Our first stop was the cart that sells fries etc. Guess what? They don't take the dining plan. Hmmm, next try. Pizza window. Guess what? They don't take the dining plan either :headache: Since we were hungry we decided to go back to the pool where Dale was and get a gift card and buy dinner. After walking to and fro we went to the cart to buy dinner and GUESS WHAT?! They don't take gift cards! I was not a happy camper since all our money (except my debit card) was in gift cards! So we went back to the pool angry, hungry and empty handed! After a discussion at the pool, Caitlin agreed to walk back to EPSN and get take out. Guess what?! They don't do carry out!!! At this point my friends, I decided I would never stay at the BW with basic dining again. It's either deluxe or no dp! So by now you're wondering if we ever ate that evening....well I gave Caitlin my debit card and she bought dinner at the cart. She had nachos and I had a hot dog and fries. I must admit after all we'd been through it wasn't the tastiest meal we had but it sure was among the most memorable :rotfl:

That evening we decided to pay a visit to DTD. More specifically, Caitlin had some gift cards burning a hole in her pocket and she wanted to visit DStreet and check out the Vinylmations. We took the bus to DTD and only visited that one store. I have to tell you though, that store is decorated so cool! The theming alone makes it worth a visit :thumbsup2

Wasn't that store fun?! At the shop Caitlin picked up a Cutie Vinylmation, a Toy Story and a Muppet Vinylmation. Once she'd had her fill, we got a bus back to BW. Dale and I headed to the room and Caitlin headed out to the boardwalk. When she had seen Julio earlier that afternoon he told her to stop by later. Well she stopped and visited and he gave her pop and popcorn. He then asked her to hang out on his day off, Thursday. They made plans to go to Disney Quest and then she came back to the room.

When she got back it was lights out for all of us. We needed a good night sleep as the next day we were leaving BWV and checking into the BCV!

Another great installment. That is so exciting that you have next year's trip to look forward to. :)

Congrats on booking your next trip. The Yacht Club looks so beautiful. It looks relaxing and elegant at the same time. Great choice! If I can ever convince DH to do an adults only trip that is the resort I would pick.

I love the pool pics at BW. I love the carnival theme too. I think it looks so cute. I think we will stay there next trip whenever that is. I really wanted to try to rent points this trip but it wasn't available for the days I wanted.:sad2: Oh well, I guess I'll suffer at VWL.

I agree about the basic dining plan. When we stay around the BW we will either pay OOP or dxdp. This trip we'll be OOP at the BCV which I hope works out well.

I can't believe the carts didn't at least accept gift cards! I was planning on just bringing gift cards for dining, I guess I should have some cash too.

The picture of Caitlin doing her best MJ is too funny! The guy in the background looks amused.

Wow, D Street is so cool looking! I especially love the banner that said,"Don't hang anything off this pipe" :rotfl:

I find that Asian guy standing behind Caitlin at Captain EO HILARIOUS!!!

Wow, Caitlin looks amazing in that bikini!

Man, what an aggravating experience! It's so weird that they take one type of card, but not the others.

That's so exciting that you're staying at the YC! I'm going to have to make it over there sometime...mainly because of SAB :rotfl:

I always have to ride Imagination as well! Although its not the original version (possibly my all-time favorite attraction), I <3 Figment!

WOW NO Gift Cards!!! I'm really glad you shared this. When we went to the World, we did it on cash and GCs. There were points where I was a little nervous about losing over 1k of cash on me. :scared1: Good info to know.... maybe a Visa gift Card *shrugg*?

Thank you! If we had little ones YC wouldn't be my choice but for a family of adults I think it will be perfect :)

WOW, the VWL and BCV?! Lucky you! Sounds great! The cs at BC is really limited too so I don't think you'll miss the dp.

Definitely take cash too! I regretted putting almost everything on gift cards this trip

I hadn't even noticed that man in the background

DStreet was really fun to check out :)

I never noticed that guy. That's too funny

Caitlin says "thank you"

Trying to get dinner that day was so frustrating!
