Who is taking their tree down today?

Another one here that doesn't take down the trees until after January 6. I've always heard it would bring you bad luck in the coming year if you took it down before New Years.

I used to do that, but, my Luck is null and void anyway!

Well, I've taken mine down and I'm rushing in the New Year in order to start a good new year. After the luck I had this year, I was ready to throw the tree out the window and anxiously waiting for that ball to drop. I'm sure my luck could get worse, but I'm anticipating it to get better with the new year.

My tree isn't coming down until January 7th - I love having my tree and decorations up and I dread taking them down. The house looks so bland when all the decorations get put away.

The tree and the outside decorations will be coming down the weekend of January 7th. We put the lights up outside the weekend of Thanksgiving (I do ALOT of lights so I like to get it done early enough to enjoy it the whole "season" ) The tree we got the first weekend of Dec because I wanted it done before I had to get packed and ready for our WDW trip. Our tree is losing needles but we have wood floors so it doesn't bother me too much to sweep them up (except I will be finding needles around until probably Sept next year!!) I mainly wait until after Jan 6th to take down the decorations like others have said because of Epiphany and also because Jan 6th would have been my grandmother's 100th birthday and she loved Christmas. She passed away 2 years ago on Jan 7th. And also like Slo said I just love all the decorations that I hate to put them away (but then again I don't like to keep them out too long into Jan ~ you know get ready for a clean New Year!!
