Who is Not Buying VGF2 and Why?

That’s a shame.

When I was there in late October the lightning lanes were generally less than a 5 minute wait. It seemed like a great deal.

It seems Disney keeps volume lower out of the gate to get good reviews then cranks the capacity to 120% to make money later.

Trying to think back but think MNSSHP was an example in 2019 where the first night (when all the Vloggers were there) seemingly had lower crowds than the normal parties after that. Maybe I am misremembering though as thats a while.

I almost did, but with 3 DCL cruises in the next year, a trip to Aulani, a trip to Universal Orlando, a trip to Disneyland Paris, and hopefully a trip to Disneyland, I am not going to DisneyWorld until at least 2024. My guide promised he will call me if they get close to selling out though, so I can snag some points before it does. Eventually, I will own at VGF2, and I would prefer direct ownership given the cost is so close to resale now. I did however put in for an Aulani resale contract. It's something I've been putting off for a while, so I just hope now it passes ROFR.

We own at BLT so we have the MK loop covered. Now if they converted some of the Yacht Club rooms or offered an extension on BWV or BCV I would be all in.

We already have more points than we need. When we aren't inefficiently using them on a large point accommodation we rent them out. We have a VB contract from my in-laws that we don't really need and would have to sell first. We don't really have need for VGF as a home resort, especially since it only has 38 of the 50 years left (we're young enough where that is a factor).

So if we are to buy another one we are waiting for one of the following... a poly tower with 1-BR / 2-BR, a resort north of VGF next to MK with better theming than BLT or an brand new intriguing resort somewhere at WDW.

I was all set up to add on. I was excited about the luggage too. I know it sounds impractical but the 125 for a slight discount and the cute bags was actually a motivator for the 125. I pulled the brakes with zero current UY points available. I was set to use current UY points to upgrade the room we have for our upcoming Aulani stay. The borrow rule only allows for 1/2 UY plus I’m not spending that kind of $ to get a direct contract that is stripped of points out the gate.

To a lesser degree, I was interested in a fixed week standard studio. The original point chart for standard was 139 for week 44. They upped week 44 fixed week considerably, making the fixed week not appealing.
I’m going to miss out on the luggage but I’m about 30k richer.

We currently own VGF resale and prefer the studios with the kitchenette. We just returned from WDW and fell in with BCV. Looking to either buy SSR for SAP or more VGF resale if the price drops.

I'm not. We have 375 points now, between SSR and BRV, and that's plenty for 8 or 9 days at WDW or Aulani every year. We're headed to the Galapagos Islands and then on to Machu Picchu later this spring. Pretty sure they don't have a DVC resort in either of those places. Love Disney, but there's a ton of world out there and we're not getting any younger.

VGF has 42 years left, not 38.

We too are altering our travel plans. Have an Alaska Cruise on NCL ( in the Haven) booked for May 2023.

No interest in VGF and we have all the points we need for now (350). We plan on doing a week or so spanning Thanksgiving and then doing a second equally long or longer trip elsewhere (looking forward to heading back to Aruba next January). If we need more points once the kids are much older, we will worry about it then.

My guide sounded surprised when I passed on VGF2. He left a message, I called him back and explained to him my concerns about this being all studios. I also explained that I like the studios in VGF1 and really didn't have any interest in the new studios. I have a great Guide and I wanted to let him know why I was against adding on. I hope Disney doesn't keep this up, but it looks like they probably will. We also own at CCV, so I really hope they don't pull this there as well.

No, we already have enough VGF points. (And 4 other DVC resorts)

We did a tour of Poly when it first opened up, and I made a point to explain that we wouldn't buy because it only had studios, and that's why we bought VGF....... now they did the same thing to VGF. >:(

This is exactly why I didn’t purchase as well. The FW I was interested in, wasn’t even offered. I‘m not convinced the price is going to increase that much in the next year, so I‘m going to wait a bit to see where resale prices settle and if any information is released on DLT. Really disappointing that 21UY points aren’t available.

The changes made to the FW charts, has really made them way to expensive. I had even considered Riviera until I saw the new chart. Just makes me feel like I will stick with resale.

We have 315 points at SSR and don’t need any more points. Not that we ever stay at SSR, lol.

We are more BCV/BWV people than monorail people anyway (My husband and I have been together 10 years and he has yet to stay at SSR).
