Who is left out of discounts for Sept and Oct

What is FOTL?

Excuse my ignorance on the Universal parks and hotels abbreviations.

Thanks in advance.

Front of the Line. At Universal, guests in their hotels get front of the line passes. I'm not sure how they work, if they are unlimited use.

From Universals site:

"Universal Express Ride Access – present your room key card and BYPASS THE REGULAR LINES at each ride and attraction!!!"

I've known it to be called "Front of the Line." It's a great perk for staying at one of their resorts.

I am taking my son on a trip for Halloween which we weren't originally going to go on. I was really hoping for some good AP rates at the moderates for that time frame. For my September trip I just gave up and got Old Key West but this trip includes two weekend days so even though they are very nice accomodations, $700.00+ was more than I wanted to spend for 5 nights with just the little guy. I haven't stayed at the All Stars before but am worried about the buses being stuffed full of people so I think that is out.

Not sure what we will do as far as hotel at this point. I think I might try Hotwire and hope for Swan/Dolphin or Hilton/Wyndham at Downtown Disney. I am just trying not to stress about it like I was before I booked OKW for September.

We bought our AP's back in June. They only cost us about $20 more than regular passes would have cost us for our stay, so we at least got our money's worth. We had planned to take another trip next May to get some more use out of them. We were going to spend some time at Disney and at Universal. If there are no discounts for room only, I will be spending my entire trip at Universal. I love Disney, but I will not give them one more penny if they forget about their frequent visitors. Some say that discounts should not be expected and are not entitlements. Well, Disney is not ENTITLED to get any more of my hard earned cash. At rack rate, none of their resorts are worth it. Yes, I have paid rack rate before, but never again. I do not think that Disney will be able to make it on new guests alone. If they think that they can just forget about those of us who usually take multiple trips in a year, it is going to be a sad aawakening for them.

DebbieB and Robinette,

Thanks for the posts.

Who knows I may be taking advantage of FOTL in December.

We're seriously considering spending some of our trip at Universal.

Portifino Bay looks like an awesome resort!

My last trip was in Jan and I called from my room at the All Star Sports to ask for a come back rate for my post-cruise trip in September. I read about the code on the DIS.
I have AP's but thought I had better get the Come Back Rate at the Animal Kingdom Lodge Just In Case.
Well Just In Case, my post cruise trip is Sept 27-30th, so I am happy to use the come back rate....I was going to upgrade using the AP discounts. We have a standard room for $119.40...

After looking at Mousesavers and other website there are very little discounts offered (even with packages) for October.
The FTP had to be booked by 6/29/03. (Good thru 11/20/03)
DC package were good thru 10/1/03. (book by 8/15)
Visa card holder package good thru 10/1/03. (book by 8/15)
Florida residents good thru 10/1/03 (book by 10/1/03)

So as of right now with the new Winter package which starts 11/10/03 the only thing available for October is FL resident room only. So they must have an idea of how many rooms are full. How many people can take a last minute trip. I think any thing less then 60 days out is last minute...consider needing time off from work and airplane tickets most people do not wait that long to decide they are going on vacation.....

And now Disney has alot of us second guessing ourselves as to what we are doing. I really hope that they release something either Thursday or Friday. I am thankful I'm not going on Aug 24...

I hope everyone has a good day and some good news comes our way very soon.
