This will be our 3rd trip to DLR since 2009. The first two trips were on Halloween and Christmas. We are staying in the GCV starting on Nov. 18th. My DD9 will be turning 10 on Thanksgiving Day ! Who will be joining us for a Thanksgiving Feast ?

I think we are! In talks to go with 2 families that we know who haven't been in years. I am getting super excited. I just hope I can work it out for all of us to have fun! I never worry with just my own family, but a little nervous taking newbies!

We went TG of 08 and it was totally manageable with going early and using FP. I just hope it will be the same this TG. :)

Where are you having dinner? I think we may do Storyteller's... anyone been on TG? Last time we did Jazz Kitchen which was nice as well. Just don;t think we want to spring for the grand buffet... maybe. We'll see!

We've spent the past 2 Thanksgivings @ DLR ~ drove down the day before and spent Thanksgiving - Saturday in the parks; '10 was less crowded than last year + my exH *kicked him out on 12/5/11* was with us last year  anyway... we won't be back this Turkey day, instead we're headed back in late October, it's been 3 years since we've seen DLR all decked out for Halloween! Enjoy your Thanksgiving Holiday in the parks :dance3:

We will be there the 16-23rd, heading home the morning after Thanksgiving. It will be our first time at Thanksgiving (though about 12 years ago I went the day after Thanksgiving with a friend)

We are trying to decide where to eat our Thanksgiving meal. I'm leaning towards Storytellers.

We like eating at Storyteller's for Thanksgiving. We have had very good experiences there. The buffet is small, but the food is good quality, and the desserts are wonderful. We have always had very good service on Thanksgiving. The atmosphere of the restaurant also seems so suitable for the season.

We will be there from the 18th-24th. 4 generations and we will be springing for the Grand Buffet I believe. I can't wait!

We'll be there the Monday after Thanksgiving. So please take the crowds with you when you leave. :)

are there characters at the Thanksgiving meal?

We will be there all of Thanksgiving week. Sun-Thurs at Staybridge and then moving to PP on Thursday for two nights. Our first time staying at a disney hotel. I have no idea what to do for dinner though. It seems so far away and every time I think about Thanksgiving dinner....well it's to hot to think about turky right now!:) I'll have to look into Storytellers since that seems to be pretty popular...

Good to know. Maybe we'll do Goofy's Kitchen instead then.

We'll be there November 21-28. It'll be our first Thanksgiving trip and we're so excited!

I think the characters would be great for Thanksgiving. We are leaning towards eating in the Ballroom at DLH. Storyteller's is our favorite place to eat but the having characters on Thanksgiving would be so great.

How is the meal at A Disney Family Thanksgiving for those that have been? I have no idea what time to make reservations so we are not sure if early or later is best? My DW thinks we need to dress up a bit for the dinner but I would think it's just normal dress?

I think we are going to aim for Storyteller's around 4. That will give us a chance to go back to the hotel for a break and then change. But we will go straight back to the park, so we won't be too dressed up. :)

We will be there from the 20th through the 24th, going home on the 25th. We are also thinking of Storytellers for Thanksgiving dinner, around 4-5 ish.

When do dinner reservations open up for Thanksgiving dinner? Is it the normal 60 day window? And does anybody know if the Grand Buffet is one that books up right away?

Thanksgiving is November 22 this year. By the normal Disney dining rules, that would mean reservations would open up on September 22 (a Saturday). My experience of the last couple years, however, has been that Thanksgiving dining reservations actually open up on the Monday closest to the 60 day mark, so that would be September 24.

I'm hoping to be there Nov. 18 - 23. Still have to talk DH into it. :tink:
