I already got all the basics covered , I don't know if it's me or what but I feel that stores this year started putting out all their sales early so I figured I would get everything I needed before the crowds have fist fights for one item.
Unless the teachers ask for something more specific on the first day of school, I got it all covered, the only thing I did not get yet is the backpacks and lunch boxes , but those I am not worried about.
One thing I do not do is go shopping for clothes, usually my kids have plenty of summer clothes so why buy more? maybe sneakers and shoes but that's about it.

Yep still July :p

I haven't even thought about school shopping yet. I'm a procrastinator.

Oh, jeez, you scared me! School supplies are least of my worries--it's the school CLOTHES that drive me crazy. My 13 yo DD is so tall already, I'm always scared to buy her stuff too early in case she outgrows it by the time school starts.

I picked up some 5* notebooks at Walmart last weeks. They were almost sold out of the college ruled books.

DD will be going to a private kindergarten in the fall. There's a supply fee to cover everything she needs so that's easy. We got her lunch box and backpack already because one year when she was in preschool we waited until early August and every popular character was gone from all the stores.

She'll probably need new shoes but she's a slow grower so between summer clothes and stuff from last year she's pretty well covered for the fall.

Mine are in preschool, but I am done. Clothes, bags, crayons, markers, paste, glue, glitter..yadda yadda. I called the school and picked up the list so I knew what to get.

Edited to add: I wont do shoes until fall.:D

Our PTO sells a packaged kit of needed supplies for each grade so we bought that last year (pickup next month) and we bought a new backpack and lunchbox yesterday. Clothes shopping is done. Only thing left are shoes and I'll wait until last minute for that. :)

My daughter's middle school mailed out a supply list at the end of school, so I've picked up the items already that will be in short supply in a couple of weeks. Graph paper and tabbed dividers with pockets. There are tons of dividers with pockets but no tabs or tabbed dividers, no pockets in the school supply section. I had to find both my items in office supplies and there wasn't that many. At least no one's asking for certain color folders this year. I remember one year where my daughter had to have a purple folder with pockets and paper brackets. It took forever just to find a purple one.

High school doesn't give out supply lists in advance, so I'll have to wing it there.

Well, I started to look at clothes, does that count?

I got my daughter a pair of shoes yesterday. I bought thier backpacks at LL Bean on sale the last week of school.

I have to check my school supply surplus. I keep all surpluses and when I get extra of something, I just add it to the pile. I just got some free school supplies (perks of being a member of NEA), so I need to add it all up and check things out.

That sounds like a today project.

My kids have three years of lunch boxes, and I really don't want to add another one to it. I'll ask them if they want to continue, or figure something out.

my kids don't go back to school until september 7. no way have I even begun to shop!

I put a dent in mine the other day. Target had a great sale this week. I bought the basics. Supply lists will be posted middle of Aug. so I'll get more after seeing the list.

Haven't started the clothes, shoes, backpack, or lunchbox shopping yet.

All done. DD is going to a private school this fall and I just paid a fee for her school supplies and will be picking them up at her Open House. Already picked up her bookbag and lunch box from school and bought shoes at a great sale. So all ready here :)

I haven't bought any school supplies yet, but for me that's the easy part. It's the clothes shopping I dread. I do have my youngest dd's clothes shopping done and I bought ds some pants at the Old Navy Outlet and VF Outlet for $8 each (I couldn't pass up that bargain). But that's it.

DD goes back to school August 23...hey werent' we just talking about the kids getting out of school not too long ago! Wow time is flying!

I walked into Target yesterday JUST to buy laundry detergent. $100 dollars later. I came out with school supplies for my DD and a younger cousin of mine who is entering college this fall. I could not pass up the sales. 19 cent for bottles of glue & 44 cents for a box of 24 crayola crayons...I'm all over that! The glue and crayons are not all that I got but hey the bulk of everything was school supplies.

DD is in FL with my brother and she wants to go when we get her 'stuff'. We will probably go next weekend. Our school starts on August 6 so we don't have much time left

Done? Haven't even started. Plan to stop at Target tomorrow morning. Uniforms and school supplies are on sale plus there is no state sales tax starting Saturday.

Yep...got most of the supplies already except for the few "mystery" notebooks that I can't find. There's ALWAYS something like that!! Haven't done any clothes really - it's so hot here until October that they wear mostly summer stuff. Both Grandmas will take us shopping for a few things before school starts so they'll have a few new things. Gotta get new tennis shoes for one of my DD's, though, and backpacks for both.

We start in less than three weeks!!

I have 99% of school supplies bought and about 1% of clothing needed, lol.
