Who is done with the school shopping?

We bought a couple of things last week, but we are waiting until next week to do any other shopping. In Florida, all purchase of clothing items under $50 and school supplies under $10 are tax free next week. She really doesn't need a great deal, but we need to get it done. School begins August 9.

mostly all done except for clothes I'll wait to see what still fits from last year

Raises hand!:D Uniforms were purchased before school let out and all school supplies have been purchased except dd's lunch bag. We sat last weekend and marked everything. I marked 72 crayons with their last name on them! Luckily we have a short last name!!

All I have to buy is school shoes and I plan to get that out of the way soon!

School shopping? In July?!
I'll do all my school shopping in one major trip about a month from now. I don't go back until Sept 2, and I just got out a month ago, so I'm in no hurry. Besides, I don't want to remind myself of the fact that I'm so close to starting senior year. It's depressing.

Yep still July :p

HAHA...this describes my response too!

I have not started on it either! :p but do not worry, I will! :teeth:

My friend went shopping today and she said people were already complaining that some school supplies could not be found, so I am happy I got mine done , at least for the basics.

Done...Have Uniforms for the next year already...love to get tons of supplies at Target while they are cheap, and in stock. The shoe lady was very happy I came in now, instead of waiting 2 weeks to get my name on a list for an hour wait:p

We are in denial !!! We haven't even begun to think of school shopping. Shopping with two teenage boys is no cake walk!
Maybe I will go next week. (Or the next ???)

DD starts kindergarten in 3 weeks. She's soooo excited. We've got most of her shopping done. All her supplies are in her backpack waiting to go. Have to sort through some clothes though. That's going to be a chore.

Just started today and only because a few "sale items" jumped out at me and into my cart. It just seems too early. Where is the summer going.? We go back Aug 25TH !

I don't go shopping for my books and notebooks and everything until about a week or 2 before school starts. As far as shopping for clothes for school, I haven't done that for last year yet.:teeth:

Mine doesn't either but I already finished her clothes shopping and got her back pack, lunch box and snack box (they need two seperate boxes for these). Her sneakers I will be getting next week since she is wearing them to Disney in August anyway. Since they are not allowed to wear shorts to school I needed to buy her pants which is NOT an easy thing. She doesn't like jeans or drawstrings so its just regular pants and she is skinny so she needs a 2T waist and a 4T length!! They should get their school list soon so then I will shop for the rest of the supplies. At least we are years away form the scientific calculator year..I am going to hate spending 100.00 on that thing!!

I'm ready. School starts Aug 7th, so we don't have much time left. I bought them a bunch of new shorts but no pants yet. We start school so early here and it is so hot, they won't need new pants for three months.

I wish I could get the supply stuff out of the way now while there is still stuff to pick from. Our schools, middle school and up don't let you know until after school starts. They leave it up to the individual teachers and it changes every year. It is so frustrating! BTW- we start Aug 31st.

ugh. funny that this thread was posted right now, we just got the 7th grade supply list from school. not to worry, there's nothing weird or esoteric on the list, I'll be able to get everything in August at Staples.

I have no idea when I'll get the 9th grade shopping list, but the high school has a real school store in case there's something I can't find right away. at least she doesn't need to buy a new scientific calculator, I invested $$$ in one for her last year.

lol - my daughter starting getting her school supplies ready on the last day of school. She's so excited to be going to a new school (in our district they have one school for K-3, another for 4-6, another for 7-8, and finally high school). So she's off to 4th grade!!!!

I've already bought all the school supplies. We are now looking for a backpack for my oldest DD. She wants one that rolls. My youngest DD, who is starting Kindergarten, is using her Tinkerbell backpack from last year. We bought that one at the Disney Store, and it's still in awesome condition!

I don't even want to think about it. My DD8 is very difficult to find clothes for. I think I'll wait until the last minute.
