We are in a studio on the 5th floor, over looking the lawn. We were able to watch the movie from our balcony last night! Room is lovely and bathroom is a great size. Once the pullout is open, the main area is tight for three adults.
I can see where a higher floor would give a better view, but I'm happy that I can see a bit of the ocean!

Today is DD's 21 st birthday, so we will be "drinking around the resort"! Lol

Hope that you have a GREAT STAY! Hope that the flight from Jersey was not too long...WELL WORTH IT though!

Flight went well - after Europe the past two summers, I was ready!! Lots of movies to watch and we arrived almost an hour early! Shuttle service was great. All worked out very calmly!!

First full day at Aulani. Mickey & Minnie called to wish DD21 a happy birthday! We had breakfast at the character buffet and then spent the day at the beach and pool. Dinner was at AMA AMA for dd birthday. Food was excellent, as was the service. We were very pleased.

Tomorrow we have the catamaran & snorkeling excursion booked. I think I will just watch & float ...... ;-)

Wow. Great day on the catamaran snorkeling excursion! Boat was beautiful and 2 months old! Everyone enjoyed snorkeling - I bobbed in the water. Lol. Crew was fabulous and our guide Matt was wonderful! He will make a fabulous ABD guide !!! I will admit, we didn't eat much f the lunch, but the bar was open! I had a blast singing with the ukulele player on the return - he joked that he should have had me up there with him from the beginning. Lol

Gorgeous day and beautiful sights. I really enjoyed it, as did dd21 and DH. Any questions, please ask! ;-)

Isn't the scenery BEAUTIFUL? Sounds like you enjoyed!
We didn't do the snorkeling excursion, but did a catamaran experience, think it was called Ocean Voyage Cruise as part of an ATV excursion at Kualoa Ranch! HIGHLIGHT of our trip! WOW! So taken back by the scenery!!!!!

Just got our confirmation (rented points) for March for 2 days. I wanted to do 3, but the first day was not available for SV hotel room or studio. I may book that day with cash and my SIL's CM discount...or stay an extra night in Waikiki. We will be in Maui a for a week, and plan on ending the trip at Aulani.
199 days till I am back at Aulani!

I may book that day with cash and my SIL's CM discount...or stay an extra night in Waikiki. We will be in Maui a for a week, and plan on ending the trip at Aulani.
199 days till I am back at Aulani!

Wont probably get back for another 4 or 5 yrs, but next trip we will do Maui too! Friends have said it is AWESOME! ENJOY!

Did you book the catamaran snorkeling excursion thru the resort? We are going in Nov. Still deciding on this one. What did they serve for lunch?

CarlaT - yes, we booked our excursions through Aulani, on the website. We booked the catamaran/snorkeling and surfing lesson ahead of time. Lunch was pulled pork, some cold cuts and salads. We ate a roll! Lol. Didn't want to waste time eating when that gorgeous water was there for us to be in! We booked Pearl Harbor while we were at the resort. We booked Paradise Cove Luau on our own.


We arrived home this afternoon. Got the mail & paid bills, now waiting to pick up our pooch and then I will start laundry. Maybe tomorrow. Even if it IS my birthday! I'll do a trip recap in a few days - just to give some of our observations! SingingMom" ....Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I lived in Hawaii in my college days...a long, long time ago. I got a job on an an American flagged cruise line (there were two ships) that went inter island. Out of all the islands, Maui is the one I have least explored. I am really excited to give it a go.
This was DH first trip to Hawaii and he is hooked. We both got the Hawaiian Air Mastercards to earn points for flights. We also get 50% off companion rates. we figure the 3 of us can get over there for less than $400. The APR is ridiculous, but we pay them off each month. I have to put a hold on using my Disney Visa.

we were trying to book March 15-18 for SV hotel room or SV studio. Neither were available on the 15th, but IV, PV and OV studios were. I originally planned just a few days at Aulani to relax at the end of our trip, but then DH wanted to stay there the whole time. I still may reserve a cash hotel room though depending on SILs discount.

Aulani in In mid October. But first we have 2 weeks in Maui, 4 days Molokai, and a week in Sunset Beach on Oahu. Then it's off to Aulani for our last week. Not our first time in Hawaii, but it will be our first time at Aulani!! Whoo Hoo!
