When I heard about Pal Mickey I thought I would snap it up in a hearbeat. Then I started thinking: DW and I have been to WDW nearly 30 times, our kids are grown, do I really need to drop $50 on this? Is he really going to tell me anything I don't already know? Am I going to schlep a plush creature around with me in the heat and humidity? Isn't what I really need that $225 Mickey lamp in the gift shop at the GF?:earsboy:

I'm going to be getting one for sure! My DH and I have no children and have been to WDW several times but it sounds like so much fun and I am a sucker for anything new Disney comes out with :D

I was gonna order one online, but afraid it will not come by departure day....so i will DEFINITELY pick one up as soon as I get there. My DD is 9m. she will keep and treasure her gift from her 1st WDW trip....hopefully many more to come.

Thinking about getting one, also have no young kids and trips are just the two of us. Would deffinetly get one if they had a tigger one. Can there be hope, not going again till Sept?

I was lucky enough to spend a day with Pal Mickey recently and can assure you that you'll fall in love with the little guy right away! The first thing that struck me was how perfectly sized he is, just right for carrying around whether you're a toddler or an adult.

Pal Mickey gives a lot of useful information while you're touring, he plays 3 games with you (if you press both hands) and he tells jokes. One interesting feature occured to me....you can remove his 'workings' to launder him, but that also means you can remove them when you get back home and use him as a little 'purse' of sorts. He's got just the right amount of space to be able to tuck away a few items (little girls are going to LOVE him!).

Disney offers a nice feature when you meet Pal Mickey. You can 'borrow' him for the day (I believe it's $8.00) and they apply the full amount ($50) to your credit card so that if (when!) you decide you love him too much to bring him back, they can charge the full amount and he gets to go home with you! No child under the age of 8 is going to willingly give up Pal Mickey at the end of the day. They had to pull him out of my clutches when our day together ended. ;)

I WILL!!!! I'm actually going to buy it for my little sister who will be there with us.

Can you order it before you go? If so do you know where?

Someone posted that they called the WDW mail order # and was told they are not taking orders for Pal Mickey.

They have them at this site. http://www.mainstreetmegastore.com/

but they want $89 for it.

I will be getting one as soon as we check into our resort.

I am debating on whether to get one for 6 yo ds or not. I think it might be fun in the parks ... however, I am thinking that once it comes home, it'll be stuffed into the toybox and never used again. We'd probably forget to pull it out for the next WDW vaca.! lol!

I am on the fence right now about this. It might be fun if lines are long and MPM tells jokes and plays games. However, I don't really know that I want to lug it around the park ... and what if it gets lost on a ride or dropped somewhere. That's $50 down the tubes! Ugh! Decisions, decisions!!!!

Definitely going to get one when (if) we arrive in December for my then-to-be 5 yr. old granddaughter.. Only problem is my GROWN DD will probably want one too!!!!!;)

We bought one for my 4 yr daughter, she LOVES him. He was our best buy this year. He was like having our own tourguide. At every park he would vibrate or giggle when we entered. I think the Animal Kingdom he helped us the most. When we were walking around the paths he would giggle and then tell us about some animal hiding or he would say "there is a hidden path that you can spot animals on". When we got off the safari ride he told us to take the path to the right to see more animals. At the Magic Kingdom he reminded us when the show in front of the castle started and gave us reminders up until the show started. He turned out to be "Our Pal Mickey". Now that we are home he is telling us jokes and playing Disney games. It feels like we brought a piece of the magic home.

We were just at WDW and interestingly, my 5 1/2yo nephew wanted one but his twin sister picked up the My Pal Disney Doll (I think that is what it is called). Then my nephew took it with him the first day to the park and it ended up in my knapsack for most of the rest of the the trip. While I will say he is adorable, I am not so sure that he is worth $50.

Awww sounds really cute!! I think I'll have to pick one up while I'm down there. My nieces and nephews are going and they have never been to WDW, so this would be cute for them!

We will defiintely be buying one of these...my son will love this, I am sure! Of course, I only want to see it, not play with it or anything! ;) :p

We want one bad! We are not going down again until next spring break so we have lots of time to locate one. I think renting would be gross, some baby may have sucked on it or something!

Does anyone know . . . . if you buy one, is it totally brand-new out of the box, or is there a possibility it's a rental return??

Doesn't he have a clip so you can just clip him on and go?

What type of clip is it? Is it just the type you pinch to open (looks sort of like a V)? Or is it loop like? I really hope someone knows what I'm trying to say! :p
