Just curious, with the building of DVC at the Grand Californian, who here is a DVC member living in So Cal?

DH and I were speculating today if they'd open up the GCH to free valet parking for DVC members and how many might potentially live in the area (or come frequently enough) to take advantage of this, if they did offer it.

I'll start. We're DVC members, so we're 1 (only counting each couple as one unit).

In SoCA also. I heard that Club 33 uses the GC valet parking. I am wondering if Club 33 will have to give that up for DVC guests.

May not live in California, but am up here in Seattle. LOVE the nonstops on Alaska Airlines Sea to MCO!

We are west coasters, but in the way northern part of California. We would likely not use DVC perks or accomidations in DLP. It takes as long to drive to Disneyland as it does to fly to Disneyworld and we like Disneyworld way better.

DVC members in N. Cal. here. We prefer WDW as well, but airline tickets for 6 people is starting to bite us in the pocketbook. We would probably use DVC at DL... even if only as a homebase to see some more of So. Cal. (We aren't CA natives, but only temporary military residents.) We have used our points at the GC once... on a 2BR suite... OUCH. Here's hoping a 2BR DVC property would be comparable to the rates at WDW DVC properties.

Northern California here... We would not use our DVC for DL.. we have just discovered WDW and aren't willing to give it up :thumbsup2

We are also in Central CA and right now we have APs at both WDW and DL. I can't say that we will never stay at a DVC in Anaheim, but it won't be our first choice. We might use it if we have points that we need to burn. Even so, I am concerned that it will be very hard to book at the last minute because there wil be so few rooms.

Unless we find a great rate at one of the on-site resorts or we are with kids who will have time to swim, we are pretty happy staying off site. We usually stay at the Sheraton so that we can earn points to convert to miles to get us to WDW!

Northern CA here. I love both DL & WDW and use our points for both places. I'm looking forward to DVC at GC.

I can't seem to find any announcement for that. I heard the rumor about it. When was this announced?

West Coaster here----Phx. AZ

We just bought at SSR in Nov. and we're using pts. for our March trip to DL and staying at GCH! We're excited---it's our first trip to DL!

I heard rumors about DVC in Calif. but that has been it---rumors.

DVC owners from Portland, OR.
Liked Disneyland when my kids were small. Much prefer DW with older kids or just the two of us.
When and if we have grandkids will probably make some short trips to DL and use DVC, if available.

San Jose residents here. We have been DVC members since 2000, our first trip to Disneyworld. We have used points at DL, as well.

 Hey Mary - we are in your neck of the woods; Morgan Hill.

We have been members since 2006. I have not used points at DL yet but may someday when the kids are a bit older and we want to do some quick trips. Right now we are pretty much WDW folks.

We're in the Bay Area, and would definitely use DVC points in SoCal if a resort is built there. Maybe for 3 nights at a time, during the years we don't go to WDW :) ! We first took our kids to WDW in 2005 and now are totally hooked...could use some more points so that we can go every year, but the flights are long and connecting and a bit painful....
