Who Invited My Mother In Law? A Moderately Deluxe TR All New X 3 & PTR Link 2/3 !!

We're back from our trip and I'm all caught up again although I can't remember what I wanted to comment on. :rotfl: I blame it on the Disney blues. :guilty: Anyway, I'm back and am looking forward to the next installment.

Hi guys! My family and my stuff is all in the new house! Now I just have to make it livable. :lmao: We do have cable and internet set up because we have our priorities in order. ;)I'll do replies tonight, and I still hope to have an installment up by the end of the week. Thanks for all the well wishes! You guys are great.

congrats!! Glad to see you have your priorities in order! Internet & cable!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yay! Y'all made it into the house! :yay::yay::yay:

You sound just like me - I had our internet connected the day before we moved in. And DirecTV installed our dish on move in day. Like you said - priorities! :rotfl2:

Best of luck with the unpacking! I had my turn, so now it's yours!

Woops, got a few days behind.

I'm glad that Maddie was at least brave enough to attempt to ride EE, even if she was a little bit too short to make the cut. Hopefully that bravery will be a trend that continues... and the height thing wont. :lmao:

I do kind of feel sorry for Dug. I know the whole "squirrel" thing probably gets old, but really, how can you resist??? :confused3

Congrats on getting moved into the new house!

Internet and cable would be our priorities as well. :lmao: I am glad you are in your new home. Congratulations again and welcome home.

Glad to know you are in the new house.

We will WAIT until you get organized..we're not going anywhere.

It makes sense that Bryan is not posting yet, because I kept looking for a user and could not find one. :lmao:

Things are finally slowing down for me. We are going to push off reorganizing the house and garage for the garage sale until after Disneyland, since we cannot find time to get it done. I want to sale at least 60% of our stuff. Our house is too small for all of this stuff. I already told everyone not to bring gifts for Connor to Disneyland and am trying to discourage gifts all together. He like the rest of us has way too many things, already. I see that you are about to move. Maddie’s dance recital must have been awesome. My brother’s daughters did two days in a row well before Xander was born. I went to the first one and loved it so much that I had to go back and watch the second one. You must be excited about her preschool graduation too. I finally remembered to ask Xander’s school. They said preschoolers do not graduate.

Getting ready for a garage sale takes so much time! Good luck! I spent every night for 3 weeks working on ours, it was exhausting! The house that we bought is almost twice the size of our old one, but I'm still wondering where we're gonna put all of this crap! Poor Bryan-most of it belongs to me and Maddie! :lmao:

Maddie's dance recital was great. She was so excited for everyone to watch her on the "big stage". She had 14 family members in the audience, and ended up with 3 dozen flowers! (and none of them from us--I told you our families spoil her :rotfl:) I enjoyed the recital a lot, some of the older girls were really talented.

Her graduation was very sweet. I cried a little. I'm not sure that I'm ready for my baby to go to kindergarten. I think the preschool graduation might be a regional thing. :confused3

I am so happy that you are getting your house on Monday. Do not worry about the updates. We will be here when you’re ready. Everyone is excited for you, I bet. That just means you are going to be really busy for a while before it gets any slower for you. It’s a good busy though.

It has been a good busy! I am so relieved to have my whole family (dogs included) under one roof. I've been working for 14 hours today, and just finished getting the first coat of pink paint on Maddie's walls. And, the kitchen is almost unpacked! I have a sort-of job interview tomorrow. I obviously hope that I get the job, but I'm also hoping that I won't have to start working for a little bit! ;)

Xander refused to stand straight up on one of the rides last trip too. It was one he just got off with my husband, but I cannot remember anymore which one (maybe Test Track). He finally did on the fourth try and we rode. He was right on the cusp of the 44” rides himself. Poor Maddie thinking she would not get Stitch for being too short to ride. Unless I am really hot, I have the same water ride policy Bryan has. I hate wet tennis shoes and am not blessed enough to wear sandals (they blister my feet). Good thing your MIL wanted to ride with Maddie. How lucky to come off Kali dry!! We got absolutely soaked last time. All three of us happily skipped it on our last trip.

I know she would have been tall enough if she tried. Maybe next time. I'm glad to know that Maddie's not the only kid who's done that. She's so silly. We were getting that Stitch no matter what, I did feel bad that she was so upset about it. I hate wet tennis shoes and socks too! Nothing feels worse, and I'm prone to athlete's foot so that's a lethal combo for me. I could take or leave water rides, but I don't dislike them like Bryan. Last time I rode, I was so wet that I was wringing water out of my dress. I was pretty self conscious walking around in the wet clothes. Maddie and grandma were both glad to have ridden a ride just the two of them, so it worked out great.

Maddie letting you sleep with her Yeti is so adorable. You need a guy. I love it. Nice character photos. I have never even seen photos of two of them, so I did not know they had stops.

She's so funny. Every single night she made sure I had that Yeti. Thanks! Russel and Dug were fun to meet. I only knew they were out because of MarDgreen's TR. I'm so glad that I did. Maddie and Bryan were both excited to see them. :thumbsup2

First of all, congrats for breaking out of the hotel and getting into your house! I'm sure you are really relieved! Take all the time you need to get set up and organized, we'll all be here! :goodvibes

Thank you! I am so happy to be out of the hotel. It's going to be a long haul getting organized, but I like this kind of thing. I don't know how you military families do all of this moving. It's crazy-making!

I'm sorry Maddie didn't get on EE, and even sorrier about the meltdown. I know that my DH has a much lower melt down tolerance than I do, probably because since I'm at home, I've gotten desensitized! :lmao: He tends to get really frustrated when Everett acts out, which certainly doesn't help the situation. We've all been there!

I think that she'll ride next time. She just got overwhelmed and upset, and DH tends to have no patience for that. I think our situation is very similar to yours. If I got mad every time Maddie had a fit/meltdown/cried-I'd be angry all day! :lmao:

I'm also with your DH about Kali, I've ridden exactly twice, and don't intend to ride again in the future without a full change of clothing. I hate being wet, and even with a poncho, there is usually no getting out of that ride dry!

I don't mind Kali, but only when it's hot. DH just really doesn't like to get wet and walk around all day. I don't really blame him. I'm always the one who gets soaked on that ride, so I certainly wasn't going to do it when I was freezing! :lmao:

We saw Russel and Dug in April, but since Everett doesn't know who they are, we didn't stop. They look really cute though!

They were cute, and Maddie was so excited to meet them (and so was Bry)!

I hope you guys meet up with Pocahontas! She is pretty elusive!

We'll see! ;)

Congrats on moving out of the hotel and into your house! I hope you survive the 1 night at your MIL's...not so sure I would....LOL.

Thank you! I survived!

Is it just me or does Russell's shorts look a litlle short??

They do! I hadn't noticed before, but you're right! It kinda looks like a Will Farrel parody of a boy scout!

Ok I am caught up again! Great updates, I continue to love living vicariously through you and your family while I (not so) patiently wait for our trip in October. And congrats on getting out of the hotel and into your new house!

Thank you! It's so hard to wait for trips. That's why I love to Dis.

I also have to saw I am impressed with your patience with your Mil. I consider myself to be a relatively patient, understanding person and there have already been a couple of moments when I would have said something to her!:rolleyes1

Thanks. I try not to confront her because I know how hard it is on Bryan. Even when he agrees with me, it's still his mom. I was just reminding myself that it was only 3 days.

Tusker House looks great! We don't do breakfasts in WDW, but it may be worth a visit at another meal.

Tusker House was amazing. You should check it out. I can only assume that the food is as good at other meals. :thumbsup2

Two ride bribes in two days? I feel better about myself already :)

Yup, and it wasn't the last either! :lmao:

Too bad she didn't get on EE. Emily rode it at age 5 and LOVED it. I think Dylan actually did it at 4. As wild as it is, for some reason, kids seem to be ok with it. Oh well...next time!

I really think that she would have enjoyed it, but I guess it'll have to wait for next trip.

So I take it your MiL is NOT reading this Trip Report, right? :rotfl:

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:I have to admit that it has crossed my mind that she might google the phrase Mother in law Disney World and find this! I think I'm in the clear though. She's never heard of the Dis, and I certainly haven't invited her to join me here!

Baha! I used to be the biggest night owl ever, but disney has made me appreciate mornings (as has this amazing weather!) so I tend to get up earlier nowadays, I dunno...

Yay! And hey, even if she does, that's cool too, I was scared of rides like the barnstormer when I was younger, my first disey trip I rode splash mountain and that was IT for thrill rides. Ha!

BAHA! Oh it's totally fine!! It was a hilarious expedition for us that evening, and I had totally forgotten about you guys being at the poly, didn't expect it, and then *bam* I have no worries about it

I'm so glad that you weren't upset, it still bothers me. I really hate being rude.
I'm glad that you've branched out beyond Splash for thrill rides! Think of what you'd be missing!

Great pics on the Safari ride (a favorite of ours). That's too bad that your daughter was too short...although I tend to think she was not. Maybe next time?

Thank you! You think right, she probably could have gotten on if sh'ed stood up straight. Next time for sure!

Love the photos around AK -- the detail is amazing.

Thanks! I take so many pics at AK, it's fantastic.

The pic of your husband with Dug and Russell. :thumbsup2

And the one of Maddie with Meeko is adorable.

Thank you! We are character people. I'm so glad that DH is willing to be "silly" and get in the pictures.

I remember you mentioning how you like to google things, then I saw your comment above. On the first page, I found this, lol:

I have to admit that it has crossed my mind that she might google the phrase Mother in law Disney World and find this! I think I'm in the clear ...

OMG. That is funny. :lmao:

I promise I didn't abandon your TR! We've been at the beach and just got home last night. I read all your updates and am all caught up!

Lol! I'm glad you're here! How was the beach? Sounds great.

I know I've said it before, but your MIL and mine could be twins. That scenario where she bought your niece and nephew a bunch of stuff but not Maddie? That's textbook MIL! Happens quite often around here. Not only that, but she finds a way to insert my nephews (yes, plural now...the one that was destined to be the "special" grandchild from my TR was born in April) into every conversation, whether it has anything to do with them or not. It's kind of ridiculous. Brandon and I are quite amused to see how she manages to tie them into every conversation. It's like a game!

I though of you and the stories from your TR when it happened! I was shocked at her. I really, really don't care what she buys Maddie, but sheesh! Maddie is only 5. Did she really expect that it wouldn't bother her?

I think you might win the MiL award, mine is just "too busy" to be around most of the time.

I really enjoyed your Tusker House review. I always go back and forth on whether or not to book an ADR there, and your beautiful pictures and descriptions have me leaning more towards booking it. Plus, Daisy in all her eyelash and high heel glory is a definite plus in my girls' minds!

Tusker House was AMAZING! If you're on the fence next time, book it. It was great!

:lmao: Maddie is just in love with the heels and eyelashes! I think she likes Daisy better than Minnie because of those lashes!

That's too bad that Maddie wasn't tall enough for EE...maybe next time!! Yay for getting to meet Russell and Dug - they're both so cute! Hopefully you got to meet Pocahontas too!

Russel and Dug were fun to meet. Maddie didn't even know that it was a possibility, so Mom scored some cool points!

I hope she tries EE next time, I know she'd love it.

Congrats on finally moving into your house! How exciting!

Thank you!

That stinks that you had to change your plans around. And no, you're not the only one who schedules relaxing time in. Sometimes you just know you're gonna need it!

I appreciate the back up! We were looking forward to some down time at the pool, but the parks are always great too! (too bad MiL's aren't...) :rotfl:

I love the story of how 'you need a guy.' That's just too funny/cute.

MEEKO! He's always been one of my absolute favorites. Pocahontas is such a great movie!

Aww, the Russell and Dug photos are all so cute! So glad you got to meet them!

Thank you! And, it was your TR that clued me into the fact that we could meet Russell and Dug, so thanks!

Eek I'm so behind!

You have plenty of time, I just moved!:lmao:

I absolutely LOVE that you are doing detailed dining reviews, we plan to eat a lot of the places you've tried out and it's always great to get some insight.

Thanks! I enjoy doing them, and I hope that people will get some helpful info!

I love that in both your trip reports you have eaten in so many places where we plan to eat next year!

Maddie is precious and I love you TR both of them!

Thank you! I'm glad that you're here. We ate at a lot of popular places, I hope that you'll here more about the places you'll be eating!

Awww, too bad Maddie was just a little short to ride EE! But, at least she tried! :thumbsup2

"Tried" may be a relative term in this case. :lmao:

I love water rides but rarely ride them because I hate being wet all day. :sad2: That's good that MIL took Maddie.

I feel the same as you, just not worth walking around wet. MiL and Mads had fun riding just the 2 of them, and I think it was the special thing that Maddie needed after MiL yapped about all the gifts for her cousins.

Great pics of the safari & the characters. I really want to meet Russell & Dug this year.

I hope that you get to meet them, Maddie loved it. So did we...:thumbsup2

So happy for y'all that y'all are closing on the house tomorrow! :woohoo: Hope all goes well. And you know I definitely understand lacking in updates due to a move. :rolleyes1

Thank you!

Loving the TR but I want more! Come on, it's not like you are busy moving or anything ;)

Good luck with the move! but don't forget about us.. .okay!

:lmao: I'll do better I promise! I do hope that I'll be able to get an update done in the next couple of days.

Poor Maddie not measuring up. I was worried about that with my nephew on our last trip, because he was so stoked to try anything that he could get on.

I think she'll ride next time. She was slouching out of fear. :lmao:

As you have read some of my TR's, you know that I know that everyone needs a Yeti. :goodvibes The naughtier the better.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: I think he's going to end up being my Yeti. If DH and I ever get an adult trip, maybe I'll take Yeti pics in homage to you!

Oh, and with naming "the gift debacle"? I name things all the time. :lmao: And use nerdy phrases like "and heretofore, this shall be known as...." :rotfl:

I'm a big namer of events. (Bryan's cousin had the "Wedding of the Century", once when appliance shopping we had the "Sears Incident")

I uses lots of nerdy words. Shenanigans, poppycock, and tomfoolery are some of my go-tos. I sound like an 80 year old! :lmao:

I do take breaks in the afternoon too. I look forward to them also, so I could understand your trepidation with the threat to your afternoon break.

I really wanted that downtime. I was worried...

Congrats on moving into your home!:woohoo:

You got some really great shots of the safari. Love the artsy one! the Safari is one of our favortie rides in all of Disney.

Thank you, thank you! The Safari is great, and since I have no desire to go on a real one, that's as close as I'll get:lmao:

Everytime we've been to AK, we've missed Dug & Russell, and now they pulled them from AK. Your DH looks very happpy to be with them!:lmao: JOhn was like that with P&F in DHS.

Princess posing is required for almost all shots!:thumbsup2

I didn't know Russel and Dug weren't out anymore! That's a shame, they were really popular. I love it when DH is willing to act silly. So often in real life he won't be, so those moments are great.

I knew that Kadence's mom would appreciate the princess poses!

We're back from our trip and I'm all caught up again although I can't remember what I wanted to comment on. :rotfl: I blame it on the Disney blues. :guilty: Anyway, I'm back and am looking forward to the next installment.

Thanks for checking in! I totally understand, when I have to catch up on a lot I can never remember what I wanted to comment on!

That Disney depression is terrible! I swear I get it before we leave!

Can't wait to hear about your trip, let me know when you start the TR!

congrats!! Glad to see you have your priorities in order! Internet & cable!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

:lmao:Isn't it terrible? I told DH that I've discovered something about myself in the last month--I need good cable and a strong internet connection to be happy. Catching up on the Bachelorette right now!

Thank you! We had the cable guy here 2 hours after the closing! :lmao: In my 4 hours of down time over the last 2 days, I've watched Food Network Star, Design Star, and I'm catching up on the Bachelorette now. I thought you'd approve. I need cable!

Thank you! It's going so slowly, but it'll get done.

Woops, got a few days behind.

I'm glad that Maddie was at least brave enough to attempt to ride EE, even if she was a little bit too short to make the cut. Hopefully that bravery will be a trend that continues... and the height thing wont. :lmao:

No worries, I'm going really slow :confused3. She did "try", and she did get more brave as the trip went on.

I do kind of feel sorry for Dug. I know the whole "squirrel" thing probably gets old, but really, how can you resist??? :confused3

How could anyone resist? It's our favorite part of the movie!

Congrats on getting moved into the new house!

Thanks!

Internet and cable would be our priorities as well. :lmao: I am glad you are in your new home. Congratulations again and welcome home.

Thank you so much! It's such a relief to be getting settled. I needed that internet and cable!

How does Maddie like the house? (And the Move) Congratulations!

She loves the house! She was such a little trooper about the move. I let her choose the paint color for her room and started painting tonight as a reward. Thank you for asking, that's so sweet.

Glad to know you are in the new house.

We will WAIT until you get organized..we're not going anywhere.

Thank you! I appreciate it.

I remember you mentioning how you like to google things, then I saw your comment above. On the first page, I found this, lol:

I have to admit that it has crossed my mind that she might google the phrase Mother in law Disney World and find this! I think I'm in the clear ...

OMG. That is funny. :lmao:

:lmao::lmao::lmao: I googled it last week!!!! I even asked on the Tech Board if there was anyway to make the TR only available to Dis Members. :rotfl: (There isn't BTW, they want to be 'googleable' :lmao:)

Thank you! We had the cable guy here 2 hours after the closing! :lmao: In my 4 hours of down time over the last 2 days, I've watched Food Network Star, Design Star, and I'm catching up on the Bachelorette now. I thought you'd approve. I need cable!

Too funny! I usually don't watch Design Star but I saw the 1st episode really late one night. So, of course, I had to set it to record all the episodes. It's now added to my line up. Last night, I was trying to catch up on all of my shows that I have recorded: Pretty Little Liars (yes, it's a teenage show but I love it), Pregnant in Heels, MasterChef, Hell's Kitchen, NY Housewives, OC Housewives. OMG - I think I finally got to bed around 1am. It made me think: I remember a time when there were never any good shows in the summertime. Now, there's so many. I don't know if this is good or bad. :lmao:

Thank you! It's going so slowly, but it'll get done.

It'll come together! :thumbsup2 It's almost a month we've been in our new house & we're just finishing putting everything together. And I'm still waiting on our new sectional & ottoman for the den.

Whew all caught up now. I say bad form to your MIL about talking about the gifts in front of Maddie. They only thing I can think of as to why she didn't get anything was because she was going to buy for her on the next trip. sadly for your DD that won't happen now. Almost sounds like it was planned that way. Oh before I forget...Hi Bryan, great name as it's my youngest sons name to. Spelled the same way. Enjoy the new house. Can't wait to read more.

Good news! MiL's WDW trip with BiL and SiL is back on. I'm very happy for her, I know how much she's been looking forward to it.

congrats on getting all moved in

Thank you!

I've been watching Hell's Kitchen too! And, even though it's terrible, I've been catching up on Make it or Break it. I haven't even started the episode of Guilliana and Bill that I've missed! There is a lot of fun TV in the summer, my faves are obviously the reality shows. I can't get enough of Design Star (I've watched every season) and Food Net Star. Don't you just want to hug the host of DS? I adore him. He won the first season. I haven't watched any Master Chef yet this season-trying to catch up on everything else-is it a good season?

It'll come together! :thumbsup2 It's almost a month we've been in our new house & we're just finishing putting everything together. And I'm still waiting on our new sectional & ottoman for the den.

We're slowly getting there. The kitchen is almost done, we have the family room 75% done, the dining room is done. Maddie's room is livable, but ours is not. Neither is the office, laundry room, or basement.:rotfl:

We're waiting until the Labor Day sales to buy furniture, so for now I'm arranging the old stuff. I'm glad though because we'll have the chance to live in the house for a bit before we decide what we want.

That's sort of what I was thinking, but Maddie probably won't make the connection even if she ends up doing that. :confused3

Not too many BrYans out there!

I'm all caught up and loving your TR so far! Your daughter is adorable!!

Welcome! and thanks for joining in and for the kind words!

I promise I will be all caught up this weekend.....:goodvibes

Welcome Back! I can't wait to hear all about your trip!!! No worries, I'm going very slowly...:lmao:

Loving your review so far!
