Who Invited My Mother In Law? A Moderately Deluxe TR All New X 3 & PTR Link 2/3 !!

Funny how the tide works like that, where it seems like the entire park is waiting in line for one thing (be it rides or characters or more predictably, the parade) on any given day.

I can't wait to see the little princess eating in the castle! It sounds like you truly gave her a day she'll remember :goodvibes

The photos of maddie with all the princesses are just adorable! I think its awesome that you guys are so dedicated, I'm not sure I have it in me to wait that long to meet a princess (sorry baby girl! :rotfl: )

I also think its great that you guys were able to get on so many ride with such short waits, crazy that the character lines were so long, but you could get on Dumbo in 20 mins!

At what age did maddie start wearing the 3D glasses? I'd like to take Everett to Philharmagic, but I'm not sure he'd wear them yet.

Oooh, are you guys dining with Cinderella! How exciting!

3 UPDATES!?!?! I seriously get so excited when I see that your TR has been updated!! Haha. No Naveen?! That sucks, oh well, I would rather have my little princess be into the princesses than the princes anyway haha.

WE WERE IN THAT ARIEL LINE!!! We got there right after the 3:40 one or whichever was closed, and were slowly moving up in the ropes during that meet & greet, and because the time was okay, they had us be part of that set instead of first in the next set.

Aladdin…oh Tanessa’s boyfriend…he’s a good one, but I do like the other one we met better (don’t let Tanessa hear that! Lol) UGH! Okay, while reading this update, I have been a little frustrated with the characters, why are none of them getting down to Maddie’s height?! *biggest Disney pet peeve* I dunno, it’s a thing. Ohmigosh, the pic of her & Aladdin hugging is priceless!!

We really need to co-ordinate our character meets next time, we could save spots for each other in lines ahha!! (of course, with telling them we have the correct amount of people!)

Oh my goodness. I discovered those corn dog nuggets this trip, and BOY ARE THEY AMAZING. Seriously, that is some deep fried goodness!! Ugh! We didn’t get to Rapunzel either! The character lines were INSANE this trip. Maybe it was prime time for younger kids, and all they wanted was characters? We found that rides were never that backed up!

Awww! Teacup pics are adorable!

Wait….you guys went to Caseys/Confectionary right after checking on the Ariel line…that we were in…and just about done…then we went back to Splash w/FP, circled past Naveen’s m & g, and then went to Caseys to grab dinner….SERIOUSLY?!!? How we did not run into each other constantly I don’t know!

And then we were at the Princesses at approx the same time….both using fast passes….weird.

Great updates!! YAY! Magical dinner, I’m excited to hear all about it!

What a magical afternoon y'all were having! :goodvibes I'm glad she got to meet at least a few princesses! That's so great that y'all were able to get so many rides done, too! :thumbsup2 I love the picture of her hands up on Barnstormer. She looks like she was having the time of her life that day! I love all of her souvenirs she got! I buy Reid a new pair of ears on each trip too. I figured it would be a nice tradition. I can't wait to hear about dinner in the castle!

Really enjoyed your trip report. Bless you for dealing with your MIL the first few days. I don't think I would have made it!

Well DANG, it's a triple update whammy over here!

I find it extremely odd that the character lines were so long and the ride lines were so short! It's crazy, but awesome! I'm glad yall got to get a lot of rides done!

That's an Aladdin that I've seen in several TRs, and while he's definitely attractive, he just doesn't scream 'Aladdin' to me and I'm not really sure why... he seems too rugged and manly or something. I don't know... do you know what I mean at all, or do I sound somewhat crazy? :lmao:

I think you planned that M & G great! No point in making a little one stand in one place longer that you have too...that's always been my motto! The pictures are all so great! Absolutely beautiful and she looks so happy! Great update!!

Oooohhhhh, I wanted to see the pics with Maddie's reaction for going to CRT! Hope we have a lovely update coming.

Every time I read your TR I keep getting ideas. I will definitely want to see all the princesses on the day if we do BBB with DD.

Given how long the wait times were for the Princesses and their Princes, I can see why the attraction wait times were so short. At least ya'll were able to mark quite a few chartacters off your list of "must sees".

This made me laugh. Even though I love my boys, I want a daughter so much. God may still give me one, because we are going to try one more time.

I love reading about the girlie things, because I may not ever get to experience them myself. That said, my boys still make me wait in many long character lines.

:rotfl:

Tiana really is beautiful. Other than the lovely yellow dress you rarely see Belle in at the parks, I like the one Tiana wears best.

I think Tiana's dress is gorgeous. I keep trying to convince Maddie to choose it at BBB, but on luck. It's really beautiful.

Maddie looks so awesome. Sorry the Princess lines were so insane. I am one of the people who have no problem with a parent holding a place in line for the characters and have been instructed by cast members more than once not to bring the kids through the line. That happened most recently at Buzz and Woody at DHS when the CM told me to let Connor stay sleeping in his stroller and have Crap meet us through the exit. Xander stayed with them rather than in line with me. Connor was still asleep when I made it through the long line, and I am sure you remember that both boys were asleep in the pictures.

I do remember those pictures! They were hilarious. I don't think it's a big deal, but I know some do. On this particular day, all of the people in line kind of agreed to get the kids out of there. I think that everyone would have been miserable if they hadn't. I've never heard a CM suggest it though.

I love the pictures of Maddie with Jasmine and Aladdin. Good thing she got to see them all dolled up like Jasmine. Your castle pictures are just darling. Maddie is smiling from ear to ear. Those look like real smiles to me, so she must have been excited. You are probably having great luck with the rides, because everyone else is in the character lines. I love the answer about the feather being under Dumbo’s hat as well. I love Maddie’s pose in the side castle picture. It is adorable. How sweet of the couple to tell you that after Philharmagic! It sounds like Maddie had a great time.

Thank you! She was so excited to meet them in her BBB outfit. She had the "best day ever"! Those are real smiles for sure.

We had similar experiences the whole trip. I wondered if it was because the trip took place during the school year. Maybe most of the families had younger (character) kids and not too many older (ride) kids? It was strange for sure. Even in August last year, the character lines didn't get as bad as they were that day.

:yay: to getting right in to see these princess and bypass the 70 minute line. Other Mommas must not have known about the fastpasses. Even though there was nothing eventful that occured, I am glad Maddie got her Princess fix without another long line.

:thumbsup2 The FP return time only one hour later. You could have gotten FP and gotten in sooner than waiting in the standby line! I felt sorry for all those people waiting so long.

Great updates!!! :woohoo:

I, for one, am thrilled that you posted pics of the new Storybook Circus area - I am WAY behind and have not seen a single photo until now! :scared: So thank you! :rotfl:

Good! I had planned on getting those posted much sooner :rotfl: I'm glad that you liked them.

It looks like Maddie was having an amazing day! Loving all those princess pics! I dread the day when these little girls no longer care about meeting princesses. We must enjoy every second while it lasts! pixiedust:

I think that it was her favorite day at WDW ever. She was so happy.

I'm not prepared at all for the no princessess/no dresses/no character days. I love the innocence. You're exactly right! (now I gotta convince DH that a trip every year is absolutely necessary ;))

Another awesome update!! Maddy and Kathryn would get a long so well!!!

Thank you! I'm sure that they would!

Well, I'm glad Little Jasmine was willing to go along with the plan to enjoy some shorter lines rather than brave the long lines for Ariel and Rapunzel. That was a good use of time to take advantage of some shorter waits in Fantasyland.

Oh boy, I am too. I think that even she was fed up with all the waiting (even though she didn't really have to wait :rotfl:). We had a great time getting on so many rides so quickly.

Retaliation??? This TR might be on the verge of getting even more interesting. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

:rotfl:

Wow, she really is getting the royal treatment all day long! :thumbsup2

Oh yes, we pulled out all the stops.

What a great day for Maddie! I love all the pics of her with the princesses. She looks so happy! It's awesome that the ride lines were so short and good call on the princess M&G fp! And how sweet about Philharmagic - that was one of my boys favorites too.
Looking forward to hearing about your special dinner! :)

She had the "best day ever"! She grinned from ear to ear all day long. I think that most families mush have been traveling with really young kids and that's why the ride lines were so short :confused3 Either way, I'm glad that we got to take advantage! That princess wait was crazy! At that time the FB return time was for one hour later, so it would have been quicker for those people to get FP and come back than wait in line!

Philharmagic was awesome. It's one of Maddie's favorites now!

Can't wait to share our dinner experience!

Agree with the PP, another amazing update! And while I do not know the official "rules" I see no issue with your DH holding Maddie's place in line. As you said, one person in line, one person for the pictures. Makes everyone happier, and reduces the chance of meltdowns in line which would make everyone miserable. The trouble comes, I think, with people who have one person stand in line for 15 people, all of whom want individual pictures with the characters and then other pictures with different combinations of the 15 people. I can see that getting on my nerves. But your way, never! :)

Thanks so much! I agree with you, those are the people who really make everyone mad. Luckily on this day all of those in line had an agreement to get the kids out of the line for exactly the reason you said :lmao: No one wanted to hear a bunch of little girls crying for an hour. ;)

Of course! Maddie needs to hobnob with her own kind.

::yes::

I LOVE Tiana's dress!

Isn't it gorgeous! I keep trying to get Mads to choose the Tiana dress at BBB, but no dice.

That Aladdin is pretty WASPY looking. And wow! That wig...

Yeah. The Aladdin we saw on Day 1 was amazing, but that one? Not so much.

Why are these so much more expensive than regular M&Ms?

Because parents of little ones will pay for them.

Great photos!

Thanks!

Great update. Love the photos Shannon. With that headpiece Maddie looks like a beautiful Renaissance princess.

She doesn't know what Renaissance means, but that would make her very happy. :thumbsup2

She looks absolutly Precious as Princess Jasmine!!! princess:

Thank you!

I'm always so jealous of the little princesses running around after they visit the BBB. I wish they had it about 13years ago :) I'm too old to run around in a sparkly poofy dress attempting to imulate my favorite princess... well in Disney World at least ;)

So excited for your suprise dinner!!!

Me too! I would have loved to do the BBB! :lmao: I just don't think WDW could handle us. :rotfl:

Funny how the tide works like that, where it seems like the entire park is waiting in line for one thing (be it rides or characters or more predictably, the parade) on any given day.

Isn't it? I'm glad that we wised up and convinced Maddie too.

I can't wait to see the little princess eating in the castle! It sounds like you truly gave her a day she'll remember :goodvibes

It was a great meal, I can't wait to share. She has been talking about that day in particular since we got back. I'm pretty sure she expects me to replicate it every trip. :rotfl:

Holy cow! I shouldn't be surprised at how long some of the lines for the princess meet and greets are, but my word. That is some dedication you and other moms of princesses have!! We met lots of characters on our last trip, but no princesses (boys didn't care *that* much :rotfl: ) and frankly I would have vetoed an hour + wait anyway. ;)

I too love Tiana's dress. It's gorgeous. Maybe next year?

I tried to get photos from Aladdin (one of Quinn's favorites) and they came out all crooked and blurry. I hate my dumb point and shoot. :rotfl:

Great photos and great update!! I love seeing all your pics--Maddie must have been just having the time of her life on this royal treatment day. How special!!

The photos of maddie with all the princesses are just adorable! I think its awesome that you guys are so dedicated, I'm not sure I have it in me to wait that long to meet a princess (sorry baby girl! :rotfl: )

Thanks! We knew that it was a special day for princess meeting. I hope by the time you have to do it they'll have a better system in place. :rotfl: I'm really interested to see what they'll do when they move everyone to the former SWSA. They already wised up and moved Rapunzel into Town Square Theater and Aurora outside from what I understand.

I also think its great that you guys were able to get on so many ride with such short waits, crazy that the character lines were so long, but you could get on Dumbo in 20 mins!

Isn't that crazy! And the Dumbo line was the longest! It was great!

At what age did maddie start wearing the 3D glasses? I'd like to take Everett to Philharmagic, but I'm not sure he'd wear them yet.

Oooh, are you guys dining with Cinderella! How exciting!

I think that Maddie was 4 before the started releasing all the Disney movies in 3-D so that's probably when she first tried. She enjoyed TSMM and Star Tours last year (and this year) but Philharmagic was the first place that she reacted like that. I think that the 3-D elements there are way better than the other places though. I'd say let him give it a try and see if he can tell. The music is fun in any dimension!

Dinner was great! I can't wait to share!

3 UPDATES!?!?! I seriously get so excited when I see that your TR has been updated!! Haha. No Naveen?! That sucks, oh well, I would rather have my little princess be into the princesses than the princes anyway haha.

Yay! That makes me happy :goodvibes Nope, we didn't get to see your boyfriend. I'm sure that our interaction would paled in comparison to yours anyway.

WE WERE IN THAT ARIEL LINE!!! We got there right after the 3:40 one or whichever was closed, and were slowly moving up in the ropes during that meet & greet, and because the time was okay, they had us be part of that set instead of first in the next set.

That's crazy! It's hilarious how close we were all day! I'm glad that you got into that meet, the lines were nuts weren't they?

Aladdin…oh Tanessa’s boyfriend…he’s a good one, but I do like the other one we met better (don’t let Tanessa hear that! Lol) UGH! Okay, while reading this update, I have been a little frustrated with the characters, why are none of them getting down to Maddie’s height?! *biggest Disney pet peeve* I dunno, it’s a thing. Ohmigosh, the pic of her & Aladdin hugging is priceless!!

I liked the other one better too! Don't tell Taneesa! ;) You know it's interesting that you say that, it made me think. A lot of characters did. Tiana never has (maybe the dress is too big?) and Jasmine never has. Aladdin got down to her level every time, and so did most of the princesses in the main M&G that we met. I know that you'll get down to meet the little ones.

We really need to co-ordinate our character meets next time, we could save spots for each other in lines ahha!! (of course, with telling them we have the correct amount of people!)

WE DO! At least we'd have someone to talk to in line!

I love corn dog nuggets! They're so good! We may have met Rapunzel eventually, but not without a significant wait. The lines were nuts. That's exactly what I thought-since the older kids were in school, little ones were seeing characters. We NEVER waited for rides the whole trip-except the Barnstormer. ;)

That's so crazy! We must have walked by each other all day long! I can't believe that we didn't see each other! I didn't see you after CP that morning!

The dinner was great!

It was such a great afternoon! We all had a wonderful time, but Maddie especially. I think the ears are such a great keepsake. I still have mine from my only 2 childhood trips. :goodvibes Last year we got her the basic pink ones with her name on them, and this year the Cinderella ones. They're so cute.

Dinner was great, I can't wait to share!

Really enjoyed your trip report. Bless you for dealing with your MIL the first few days. I don't think I would have made it!

Thank you so much! MiL was challenging, but in the end we all survived! It was learning experience.

I LOVE philharmagic!!!! I still reach out to touch stuff!!!!

It's so great isn't it? I do too. :goodvibes

Well DANG, it's a triple update whammy over here!

I find it extremely odd that the character lines were so long and the ride lines were so short! It's crazy, but awesome! I'm glad yall got to get a lot of rides done!

I think maybe there were a lot of younger kids visiting WDW at the time, and that really affected things. I wasn't expecting it though, last August they weren't even that bad.

:lmao:

He's not the ideal Aladdin at all. He's cute, but not really Aladdinish. You don't sound crazy at all!

I think you planned that M & G great! No point in making a little one stand in one place longer that you have too...that's always been my motto! The pictures are all so great! Absolutely beautiful and she looks so happy! Great update!!

Thanks! I agree, it certainly made our lives easier! Thank you, she was a very happy little girl that day. It made for happy parents too.

Oooohhhhh, I wanted to see the pics with Maddie's reaction for going to CRT! Hope we have a lovely update coming.

Every time I read your TR I keep getting ideas. I will definitely want to see all the princesses on the day if we do BBB with DD.

Sorry I don't have any of them! I do have some really magical pictures from the meal though.

Yay! I'm so glad that the TR is helping! I didn't plan our first BBB trip on an MK day, and I was so disappointed that I hadn't. This year was my chance to get it right.

Given how long the wait times were for the Princesses and their Princes, I can see why the attraction wait times were so short. At least ya'll were able to mark quite a few chartacters off your list of "must sees".

The crowds weren't at all bad in general, so everyone must have been lined up for characters. I think maybe it's because the older kids were still in school? We got a lot done that afternoon/evening. It made our next MK day much more relaxed!

Shannon, I am doing major catch up on your TR (I know you will understand why).

I've a few comments:

1) I love the BBB photos; this is the one thing I missed about not having a girl (although my DH doesn't....he said he'd be broker than he is now :lmao::lmao::lmao:)

2) Gread parade pictures, and love the interaction between Genie and Maddie

3) Great photo op with Jasmine and Aladdin

4) Love the pictures of the new Dumbo...I can't wait to show Mark

5) The princess pictures are very nice...but to me the princesses looked more like the real princesses years ago than they do now

6) Bryan's hat picture fits right up there with Mark's hat pictures. Great job, Bryan. :thumbsup2

Haha, I guess that is kinda true, but next time! He's usually there after 5pm, so Ive always waited until then to check the m&g out!

My favorite Aladdin is the one that's a little skinner, clearly on the whiter side of skin tone, but wears a lot of bronzer, we met him later in this trip, and Ivd met him before, he's great!

I've seen Tiana get down to the kids level before, I think the hoop in the dress kinda squishes down or somethig, it just irks me when I see pictures of characters standing with small kids. Heck, as a kid, Eeyore squatted down for me, and was now shorter than me, so I squatted down to meet his height, LOL! Guess I've always been like that!

Haha! Yes, something to help pass the time in line! Let's get trip planning now! Haha, who knows, maybe by your next trip I'll be friends with some very special people! Haha *fingers crossed* I also seriously dont know how we didnt see each other again, our days were pretty similar! I guess I hit a point of twitterpation and wasnt paying much attention to anything else haha!

Just wanted to pop in and let you know that I'm reading along.

So glad your MIL finally left!

Yay for you guys getting to meet so many of the characters, despite the long lines!!! I don't have much recent experience with character greeting lines, but Bryan waiting in line for you guys doesn't seem like a problem to me!! :thumbsup2

Great pics of the New Toontown. The themeing there really does look awesome!

Can't wait to hear about your special dinner!

I'm caught up!

I love the updates! I'm glad Maddie got to meet Aladdin and Jasmine. I don't mind one parent holding the line for their kids at all.

Chad does not do the tea cups either:rotfl2: or other "throw up rides.":lmao:

I love the Photopass Pics. So good!

I can't wait to read about your dinner!

Thanks for sharing your final thoughts about the trip with your MIL. We are considering having family join us, and it is nice to hear about what makes it doable and what doesn't! I think your idea of meeting up for breakfast and supper and then being appart during the day when travelling with a crowd sounds great!
