ALLIE'S BIRTHDAY DINNER AT VIA NAPOLI

We poked around some more and stopped for some poncho-free photo ops along the way...

Also, by this time she had pretty much given up on drinking around the world
after a total of three drinks that were all shared with Clay :P

Allie's favorite restaurant at EPCOT, if not all of WDW is Via Napoli
so of course we had to have her birthday dinner there.
Mike and I split the Sangria flight which is always so good...

The salad shared by the table...

Focaccia bread with marinara and olive oil...

Pepperoni Pizza...

And Margherita Pizza...

Everything was so good, one of our favorite Disney dinners always.
It is so nice to have the International CMs back too since it really enhances the experience.
Our server was adorable and so so sweet. He brought out this dessert and everyone sang to Allie after dinner.

10/10 experience and we all loved it!

I think we left there around 6:30 and headed back to the Beach Club via the International Gateway. I stopped and watched Joey Fatone and friends for a little bit on my way past and he was soooo good and actually had Lance Bass come out with him. I would love to see him properly sometime!

It had been a long day so we headed back to the resort for a bit to rest up for the night's plan.
Any guesses where we were going for her birthday night??
Here's a sad hint...it no longer exists :sad1:

That's next!

on Guardians where we got this masterpiece...
Frameable for sure. ::yes::

and just looking at this reminds me that this booth wasn't there this year...bummer because it was so good!
Tragic. Mac n cheese should be a staple at every festival.
it was time for Allie to start her quest drinking around the world
Start the birthday off by not remembering it.
Her first (legal) drink...
:rolleyes1
Annndddd she hated it! Haha! She took one sip and handed it right to Clay who did clean-up duty!
:lmao:
Time for drink number two that was also not really a hit and again given to Clay!
So... she's sipping around the world and Clay is drinking around the world.

What the heck is that? It looks like a jumbo, plain flour tortilla.
:confused3
Ava's ginormous chocolate chip cookie...
Look at all those chips! It's more like chocolate with some cookie dough thrown in.
(and that's not a bad thing.)
one of Mike's favorite things, the Bratwurst in Germany...
Mine too. :)
While I was in there I noticed they had bratwurst like this but loaded with Sauerkraut. I tried texting him but he had already gotten his plain old boring bratwurst but we will have to remember that for next time because the one inside looked much more appetizing!)
Noted!

Well that didn't last long!

Uh huh... The waiters don't hurt, do they?

:rolleyes2

"adorable"... ahem.
everyone sang to Allie after dinner.
:goodvibes

After our trip around the world it was time for Allie to start her quest drinking around the world
and where else would she start but in Mexico!
Because she was doing it the right way!!! :) Bummer that her drinking around the world was a bust though. Some countries are definitely harder than others to find something we actually enjoy drinking when we do this, too.

I stopped and watched Joey Fatone and friends for a little bit on my way past and he was soooo good and actually had Lance Bass come out with him. I would love to see him properly sometime!
Oh, me, too!!!!! I know Billie has gone to see the show. It looks like SUCH a blast! My boy band loving heart would absolutely love to see that show, too!

My guess is you went to Jellyrolls for her birthday night. I am really kicking myself that we never got to go! I have got to stop putting things off for next time because Disney always seems to get rid of the thing I was going to do "next time."

Maybe an eating around the world challenge would be more fun? Or trying a different snack in each country?
Mike and I split the Sangria flight which is always so good...
Yum!

I love Via Napoli! I always go for the "Carciofi Pizza - Individual ~white pizza - artichoke, fontina, mozzarella, truffle oil" and add arugula. It's so yummy!

I'm so happy she got some rain free time in the showcase!! And, this will be our daughter. She actually wants it called "Sips around the World" cause she knows we will have to finish her drinks. Haha.

Yes! And I kind of forgot that until I noticed it wasn't there this year!

Yes!

She's not a big drinker anyway I think she just wanted the 21 experience :goodvibes

Yeah, I have no idea. Definitely not a tortilla...it was some kind of pastry.

Uh huh... The waiters don't hurt, do they?
They are the best and definitely enhance the experience there. We went during the bad years when there were no international people working and this was one place it was definitely noticeable!

Because she was doing it the right way!!! :) Bummer that her drinking around the world was a bust though. Some countries are definitely harder than others to find something we actually enjoy drinking when we do this, too.
She still had fun! She is fussy anyway (like her mama) and not a huge drinker. She really just wated the experience of it!

Oh, me, too!!!!! I know Billie has gone to see the show. It looks like SUCH a blast! My boy band loving heart would absolutely love to see that show, too!
I usually am there when I don't recognize the group and the one time I actually did I couldn't go! I could see quite a bit from the sidewalk though and made everyone stand there with me while I watched!

When I was there a couple weeks ago Hanson was playing so I made a package reservation for the 6:45pm show to get a seat. Wouldn't you know that is the one show they don't play Mmmm Bop! I was super disappointed. Keep in mind I was almost 30 when that song came out so it wasn't really my genre of music and apparently they have a huge fan base that know all of their other songs but I didn't even recognize one. Oh well :confused3

We only went twice but it was si fun! The performers were so talented!

Maybe an eating around the world challenge would be more fun? Or trying a different snack in each country?
She still had fun! It was more of a symbolic "drinking around the world,' as opposed to actually drinking around the world! :goodvibes

I've had that before and it is delicious! My family is kind of fussy though and like to stick to the more traditional pies!

:rotfl:

That's perfect and pretty much what Allie did!

Of course we had to get snacks from what is always one of the best booths.

I'm just so far behind with my little (huge) laptop tragedy so am scrambling to catch up on everyone's threads, so I didn't multi-quote a lot. But the birthday DAY looks like so much fun!!! Lots of sipping and good eats! I love that they have the international CMs back too. Wonderful!

I just can't get onboard with the Mexico booth and skip it every year since I tried it the first year. The price is astronomical for the portion size, IMHO. I'm sure it's tasty, but yikes over $8.00 for TINY portions. You can go across and get the empanada and get 3x as much for not much more.
