Who here uses CM's SBC+ for digital scrapping?

I downloaded the Walt Font and it did not go directly into my SB program. What do I need to do to be able to use the font?

I am new here and very excited to find others using CM Storybook Creator Plus. I was a consultant, but am not now. I still feel like the program does all I need it to. I have been using it for almost 2 years now, but loved all the different ideas you guys have! Thanks:)

HI!!! Good to see you over here!

You need to install it in your fonts directory on your hard drive first, then if you have SBC+ running, close it down, then re-open it. That should do it.

Hi: What is with tagged size kits?? Sorry but I am a newbie and English is not my first language.

I downloaded a tagged size kit and was wondering if I can use it with SBC.

If I add the paper and stretch it, it looks the same as if I click "ad as background".

Also, when I make the embelishments bigger, they look OK to me. Will it look OK when I print the page?

Thanks!

My understanding is that tagger or tagged size kits are for online display only and don't have high enough resolution to print as large pages. Maybe someone else knows a little more than I do and they can answer the question even better!

Okay ladies, forgive me if this question has been answered previously (I am only about half way through reading this thread from the very beginning). Is there an easier way to mat a picture that you have cut into a shape? For example, if I cut a photo into a circle it requires me to flatten it which then takes away the mat function under the photos menu. So I have been drawing a circle in whatever color I want my mat to be and then putting it behind the picture but then I worry about getting perfectly proportioned all the way around etc. Is there an easier way that I am missing? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

I right click on the the picture that I have flattened and copy and paste it. I take the copy and increase the size so that it stays proportional. Circles and squares - you can just pull - but rectangles are harder to make proportional. I right click and go to properties and uncheck the "Lock Aspect Ratio" Box and I change the height and width by the same number. For example, if the picture is 3.5 x 5.5, I would increase both by the same number, 3.7 x 5.7. It always looks more proportional to me this way. I hope that makes sense :)

Hi guys - I found these really cute photo masks

for free (creabouille . blogspot . com), but can't figure out how to use them in SBC+. Does anyone know if they'll work?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know. I can't seem to find them on her blog. Can you post a direct link? If they are .png files, they should work in SBC+.

It's right on the first page, just scroll down a little! Thanks for trying to help me figure it out.

I figured it out! Just download them, extract them, and bring them in as embellishments. Drop the one you want to use on to your layout. Find the picture you want to fill it with and click the drop down arrow on the picture, then click fill the selected element with picture. That should do it!

ETA, here's how it looks (I didn't make a whole layout, just tested the mask):

I just tested it too! Thanks for figuring it out for me...I'm such a "duh" sometimes, LOL! I thought these were just too cute and I would have been so disappointed if I wasn't able to use them.

I'm going to say I'm sorry in advance because I know this topic has been gone over before but I'm just not getting it!!!

How do I use a template? I'm fine on the ones that you get from CM but the tons of others that I have downloaded in hopes of using, I'm just not getting! Do I import them into SBC+ or do I just pull them over layer by layer. If it helps, I store all my stuff in ACDSee.

I wanted to try a template challenge a few months ago and just couldn't figure it out. When I tried to put my photo into one of the photo spots, it wasn't the same size as the photo spot. I tried and tried and got so disappointed that I just gave up.

I know its just me not figuring out because I've heard lots of you great girls talk about how much you love templates. Can someone please come to my rescue!!!!!!

To get the photo centered into the mask properly, you may have to do some adjusting to get it just right. You may need to do one of the two following things:
Crop your photo to the estimated size of the mask. You can easily do this in SBC+. Highlight the photo you want to use; right click on it and choose the crop selection. Move the boundaries to where you want them to be (don't try moving the box itself - it doesn't work properly that way), then choose ok.
Enlarge the mask to about page size, then import the photo. Just remember that when SBC+ imports, it starts at the top left corner of the item, whether it be a page or a photo. So, the larger the mask, the better chance of getting the whole image to properly fit. Then resize the mask to the desired size.

Let me know if you have any questions about it.

You have to reconfigure the templates for use in sbc+. Using the templates as is takes up too much memory space on the page. There is another post or two earlier in the thread about this. But quickly, you must add a blank photo for each of the photo "spots" on the template, resize and adjust to fit what 's there. Otherwise you'll end up with the same problem as you said (see my message above for further explaination).

OK, I get that you have to make a blank photo for each spot. That makes sense. But what about each of the layers of the template. Do I just import each layer individually into SBC+? Then what, put them on top of each other? Then fill with whatever I want?

Soon when I figure this all out, I will love templates, I am sure :)

The full details are posted earlier on in this thread, but you'll need to copy what's there by using the wand in the tools thread and deleting what you have imported.

I have done it like that and it worked just fine.

I know there have been many discussions on this thread regarding templates but since I am still very new to using them I am going to start one more. How difficult is it (or is it more trouble than it is worth) to take templates like these and make them work in SBC+? I am really loving some of the ones I am finding but if it is a complete headache or is going to take forever and a day to reformat them then I don't think I want to waste the time or the money. So any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Those would actually be really easy to use in SBC+, because they come with the .png's (and because they are nice, basic templates). You could also just use them as inspiration and make similar LO's in SBC+ using the photo boxes. I'm not sure what the fine line is there, since these templates are for sale. I'd probably buy them if I was going to copy them totally. You can also use the template preview as a guide to place the boxes. Bring the preview into your LO as the background, place the photo boxes on top of it, then delete (or hide) the original template.
