Who here uses CM's SBC+ for digital scrapping?

ok I have a really stupid printing question. I want to print my 12x12 pages in a bound book. Can CM do this if the pages aren't all the same theme? Does that make sense?

What about with Shutterfly or something cheaper?

I've printed books though Mac templates but you just upload the entire thing as a PDF and they don't do 12x12 books.

I'm specifically looking for hardcover books with the cover printed on the book.

Up until now I've just printed all my 12x12 pages as prints and not "storybooks."

thanks

You can save your pages as JPEGs and upload them to Shutterfly. You'll just drag each page in as a picture in shutterfly. You can order 8x8 or 12x12 hardcover books this way. I recently ordered an 8x8 from Shutterfly doing this. I'm really happy with the quality.

I think there's better instructions than mine buried within this thread!

Hi- not sure if you got this sorted out but if I understand you correctly, are you asking if you can save your storybook pages and have them printed out somewhere else?

I save all of my pages as jpgs then import them into a BOOK in shutterfly- in the order I want them--- I basically make a new book up- and then have them print it- I use the sales to get the best prices.

You just make the layout be a 1 pic layout- and you use your jpg of your page at the 1 pic...

Is that what you are asking?

Hope so---

also- if you wanted to put random pages together from multiple themed books in SBC+ you can do that too- and make a new book.... all different themes--- you just Import those already completed pages into your new book...

I think I got it - there is just no way to upload the entire book file to a place like shutterfly, correct?

With them I'll have to save each page as a jpg and then build a 12x12 book using their tools/templates. I assume they have a 12x12 full bleed page designed for this sort of thing.

OK been lurking here and cannot read every page - been thinking of buying SBC+ but do I really need the Photo Manager software? Can you edit in SBC+ or not??

I don't run PSE or any other software. Just thought if I tried digi scrapping I might keep up. (I'd say catch up but lets not get too optimistic!!):upsidedow

Would be a complete newbie - what do you think? Thanks!

OK so a banner ad just appeared for atomiccupcake digital downloads. so now I have a dumb question.

If I go to websites such as these and buy the element kits then that would download to my computer and when in SBC+ I could use those papers and embellishments on my LOs?

Trying to catch on....

Thanks

Oh and what about printing with CM. Can you "mix and match" templates in their books. I have a coupon.

Here's another printing question to add to the pot. Can I print the cover the way it looks in SBC+ at shutterfly? Or do I have to use one of their generic covers? I did a really nice 8x8 album for my brother and sister-in-law's wedding and would love to get a copy for myself. I just don't want to shell out over $50 at CM. The cover has a great picture of them on it. Thanks for the help.

Tinkryansmom:

I was a total newbie to digital and purchased PSE. I had a terrible time figuring it out. So I did purchase SBC+ and I LOVE it!!! I am not great at the whole computer thing but it is very easy and user friendly. The girls on here are also very helpful. I do not have Memory Manager. I edit my photos in PSE or in SBC. You can do a little editing. Hope that helps your decision!!

Forgot to add that you can purchase other kits, elements, papers etc. and collect freebies from all over the internet and they will work in SBC+. I have only purchased two Disney kits from CM and the rest I get at different places online. Check out designer brittney at scrapmatters. She is on the dis also and her stuff is AMAZING!!

Thanks so much! I think I will try SBC+ I am thinking of using it to stay caught up in 2009 and use all those traditional elements I have to do the projects they were intended for when i bought them. YIKES I have ALOT!!

I am thinking of putting SBC on my laptop and everything else on an EHD - Sounds safer somehow.:thumbsup2

I am still trying to decide if I should add SBC to my laptop. It would be easier that is for sure!! Be sure to search for freebies too. There are some great ones out there. And Christy has templates that work in SBC also.

drats BFFs CM website not working right now. And I so wanted to order it!! Should I go for the Click it 1 kit or just the downloadable SBC+ ? Do you know if those 2 other things are worth it - and I will have to wait to get them right?

I just ordered and received the Click it 1 kit. I loaded SBC + on my laptop and I'm getting ready to load some of the other CD's in the kit. I didn't get the memory manager. Now I have to figure out how to get the templates Christy did into it. I have played with SBC a little and it does seem user friendly. I also have Elements, but I don't know how to use it.

The answer is Yes. The downloaded album themes are made to assist you in making quick album pages and can be removed, added and whatever to your heart's content!

In order to have an album with mixed themes, you will need to choose one style/theme for your album. I usually choose one with a cover that I like best. I either leave the cover "as is" or change it. You can then delete the pages and then "import" whichever pages from other albums that you wish, rearranging them as you want.

This is a very simplified answer, so let me know if you need more specific directions.

I managed to use one of the Cm Disney covers for my Shutterfly book. I'm trying to remember how I did it!! I think I did end up saving the front and back as .jpgs to do it. I couldn't figure out how to do the spine, so I used a Shutterfly spine that coordinated with my covers pretty nicely. So, it is possible, but I'd have to go back and retrace my steps to figure it out better! Hope that helps a little. I can try and figure out what I did if you need more info!! BTW, I have some templates and Disney freebies in my blog, too!

It's been a while since I've been on the boards, but I do remember that some time ago in this thread, someone knew of a way to create words around a picture, and the words would be filled in with the picture too. Hope that made sense. I went back and looked at the CM tutorials, but it wasn't on there. Anyone remember this, or am I making things up in my head? :confused3

OK decision time. If I do the SBC+ downloadable it comes with pre-done pages and a pallette. If I do the Click it 1 bundle I get the extra swirls and whatever. Do I really need the swirls? I guess I could be patient while it ships....

Any opinions if you have ordered it...

THANKS!!

Oh and I can just print one page or LO at a time right!? CM consultant says I have to print an entire book but she did admit she does not use the software.

I ordered it and got in a little less than 2 weeks. I don't think that there is a difference between having the CD or downloading it. I just like having the physical item in hand if I need it. I don't know why...I guess I'm just old school like that!:rotfl2:
