Who here uses CM's SBC+ for digital scrapping?

I have installed SBC+. I FINALLY figured out how to import picures from Memory Manager into SBC+ after Google searching it. I could not find that in the 'Help' section. I also bought the Disney Vacation CD and plan to do a Disney ABC album with the 8 1/2 X 11 predesigned Disney pages. My question is, is the 8 1/2 X 11 digitabl album bound on the 8 1/2 side? That is how it looks on my computer and that is not what I want. I assumed it would be bound on the 11" side, like their traditional 8 1/2 X 11 albums.

Does anyone know for sure which side they are bound on?

Thanks,
Rae

Hi -- total pain in the you know what ... but Memory Manager and SBC+ actually don't "work together." You have to export the pics from MM into a file on your desktop or somewhere and then import them into SBC+ from there... I know that is something CM said they are going to be working on. I have MM too and really like it, but I can't believe I can't just import pics from there right into SBC+.

The 8 1/2 by 11 books are 8 1/2 tall and 11 wide...and they are bound on the short side... you are right -- opposite the traditional books....

I'd love to post it -- can I post it from the CM photo center somehow, or do people have to be able to log in to see it? This is my family album from the first half of the year... I still have some finishing touches to add to our Disney Cruise album....

P.S. Glad to see you back around. :goodvibes

Christy go to the cm photocenter. Under storybooks you will see a share tab. Click on that and send it to yourself. It will email you a link and then you can copy and post the link here.

The catch is anyone who wants to look at it will either need to have a CM Photocenter account or sign up for one. Once they login they can see it.

Hope that makes sense.

Christy,

Thank you for your help. I apologize for the misspelled words, I was kind of ticked when I fired off that post.

I have my pictures on my laptop, I imported them into Memory Manager, and then I had to create a file to export to SBC+. Does that mean the same pictures are copied onto my hard drive 3 times? If so, that seems like a lot of wasted memory.

I did sign up for all 4 webinars, so maybe after the last session, I can make some real progress on my ABC book. I am also printing all 33 pages of the tips that I collected from this post alone. That's right, 33 pages from you wonderful, knowledgeable ladies.

I hope Creative Memories can figure out to get MM to work with SBC+. That would be so nice.

Thanks again to everyone who responds to newbie questions. I'm sure I'll have more as I get more involved in the software.

Rae

P.S. Christy, I hope everything works out with your Storybook. I hate having to call and complain about stuff, but twice . . . .

Yep! That is exactly what it means... they are on MM, SBC+ AND on the file you exported them to.... What I do is I export the pics I want to use to my desktop, and as soon as I have imported them into SBC+, I delete them. Then, as soon as I have used them in SBC+, I delete them from there too... so I only have the copies in MM taking up permanent space.... It's pretty convoluted.... But I guess I am used to it now....

Hey Christy! I just noticed your write up in the SM blog. Totally cool! I'm glad someone out there had the guts to admit they scrap with SBC+ on a major forum like ScrapMatters! ;) I always feel like we are such freaks! Maybe we'll get a little respect now, all because of you!! :worship:

Thanks for the feedback onmy Storybook guys! It's exciting to actually "finish" something... I really want to get my cruise album done and printed next...

LOL, Jessica! :rotfl: There are some closet SBC+ers over there who have PMed me since I came out of the closet! :woohoo:

Okay gals, I had a brainstorm the other day. I remembered that I had all these Creative Keepsakes Creative Clips & Fonts cds. If you are not familiar with these, these discs had TT fonts and creative clips that you could use for embellishments or journaling blocks on scrapbook pages. Well, I just loaded the fonts to my fonts folder, opened SBC+, did a sample text box, and low and behold there are my fonts! Also, the creative clips are in .jpg format, so these could also be used in SBC+. I will have to play with those another day, but I am just so excited because I have all kinds of fonts at my fingertips and it didn't cost me anything more! WoooHooo!! :cool1:

I'm another newbie to SBC+ and I've learned just enough to be dangerous!! Thanks so much to all who have posted the information in this thread. You don't know how helpful it's been to me. And I'm hoping to scraplift liberally from your beautiful layouts!

I do have one question...I've downloaded several of Christy's templates (thanks for sharing them) but when I try to import into my SBC+ storybook, it says the page is the wrong size and won't let me import. I even created another 12 x 12 storybook just to be sure that I hadn't inadvertantly picked the wrong size pages but still no luck.

Any suggestions?

Thanks again!

Jen

I have a question. If I save a page as a jpg and put it on my desktop, does a copy stay in SBC? I am scared to move it out for fear of losing all my work. TIA!

Yes your storybook or pages are saved by SBC on your hard drive unless you have mapped it somewhere else.

Jen, this is strange. I just uploaded it to see if I had the same problem, but it worked fine. I always upload templates in a "12x12 page print" file, using "blank pages" for the style.

Try that. If it still doesn't work, then you can always contact CM and ask them for assistance.

Good luck!

I know this question has been asked but I can't find the answer. I have uploaded my page to photobucket. Now what do I do so I can post it here for a little critique? It will be the first one I have posted so I am doing the little impatient dance:lmao:

Hi Tiffany,

Find the URL on photobucket for the picture of your page and click the little image button (looks like a mountain in square) in the tool bar of the message and paste it in! I can't wait to see!!!!!!!!!!

Okay I think I am an idiot. I can not find the image button. When I click on what I think I should, it puts an address in for my post instead of a pic. Is this right? Tiffany

While you are in photobucket - right click on the image and go to properties and it should give you the url - maybe someone else will post that will have better instructions :)
